Checkerboard Skin
Hi all, Anyone have an idea what could be causing this? I was playing Sims (my main/only save file - approx. 2 yrs. old) on 20 March 2025 and in the middle of the game the "Quality of Life Fixes for Business & Hobbies" installed itself. From that point on, I now have one Sim with "skin problems". Up until the game patch he was fine, then - in the middle of game play - now sort of 'checkerboard'. All of my other Sims (ca. 200+) appear normal. I tried repairing the game via Steam. Removed all CC from the Mods folder, which that one Sim was either wearing or using. No matter what I try, I can't get him back to normal. Just to see what would happen, I saved the household to my library and then placed them into a completely different save (one I only use for 'experiments' and where don't save any changes). Strangely, in that save he appears perfectly normal. Also placed the household in a completely new save. Again, my Sim appears normal. My main save, the second save and the new save all have the exact same CC/Mods. In the main save his skin is glitched - but in both the second and the new save he appears normal. I play on a (fairly new) laptop with a Nvidia 4090 mobile / AMD Ryzen 9 - 7945HX and 1,81 TB of free space left, so there shouldn't be any hardware problems. Any ideas what could be causing this.....???? He's one of my main Sims and I'd hate to lose him......... Thanks in advance, AlexMy game is completely broken!!
After the new update my game broke and I feel like I have tried every solution out there but now I’m just stuck. I’ll list all my problems and how i’ve tried to fix it. My game won’t load any script mods at all only cc despite having both cc and script mods turned on. I did apply the changes and tried again but still didn’t work. My game is registering old cc that I have deleted. I tried moving all mods (being careful not to move anything that needs to be in the folder to work) and adding them back in to the mods folder slowly to find a broken one but it does nothing. It just keeps loading the same deleted cc that isn’t even in my mods folder anymore. I even checked my one drive to make sure all the old mods were deleted but it still only shows this cc. Keep in mind at this point I have deleted everything from my mods folder and one drive. I read that sometimes deleting the mods folder helps create a new one by turning off cc, exit, turn on cc, exit, and then try the game again but a new folder didn’t appear. I have also tried repairing the game and uninstalling and reinstalling the game. All of my previous saves were deleted the first time I opened the game after the update before doing anything. I have since started a new game to determine more issues and now I can’t do cheats at all. I’m completely and feel like my game is so broken. I now have no mods folder and what feels like a broken game. Any help would help so incredibly helpful!!Creating custom Adventure mods
To preface - this forum seems to be mainly offering support to the end-users of mods, not the creators. If anyone knows of a forum/server/etc. centred around the creation of mods, I'd sell my soul to get into it! And apologies if I'm in the wrong place, in advance! I've been working for a couple of weeks on a tuning mod focused around new content for horses (illness, farriery, better competitions etc.) It's been going really well, but I'm doing... something wrong when writing the XML. I've written an SI and injected it into the phone to run Adventure Moments that control the means of actually rewarding certain buffs/features/etc. The Main SI seems fine to my eyes, and I can't see anything majorly wrong with the way I've written the Adventure tuning (in both the AdventureMoment snippets and the SI basic extras itself.) But I cannot get more than one adventure moment to play sequentially. In the Initial adventure, I'm using the Next Moments tunable, and then putting the key of the next adventure moment I want to play in it. I've tried writing it from scratch using the TDESC, Lot 51's builder, and copying relevant extracted tuning from the game. I'm clearly missing something, because despite all that, every time I select the button that ought to start the next Adventure Moment, nothing happens. I don't think there's anything horrendously wrong with the Adventure Moments, as if I put the second one as the Initial for the adventure, it shows up just fine. I can get either of them to show so long as they're tuned in the _initial_moments block. But trying to get one to load the other through next_moments does... nothing. I'm definitely missing something here, but browsing extracted tunings (and the rest of the internet) hasn't turned up anything helpful. Ran the Sims with Scumbumbo's Log Enabler several times with every iteration/attempt and searched all the relevant logs for errors/issues (as far as I can tell, there isn't anything obvious, though I can't claim to really know what I'm doing) At this point I think I'm missing something more fundamental, or maybe misunderstanding Adventure Moments entirely? But I can't for the life of me work out exactly what is going wrong in my thought process/tuning. At this point I'm wondering if I just have to scrap the idea of doing it through adventures entirely and implement it in a different way, but I'm super attatched to how personable and well-suited the Adventure tuning is to what I want to do... in theory. I've been writing the XMLs mostly from scratch in VS Code using S4TK, not the Mod Constructor, so any advice geared towards the latter I'm afraid I won't be able to benefit from.B button won’t work in build mode after clicking an item
When I go into build mode on the Sims 4 and click on an item to place it, if I decide I no longer want to place the item and click B to go back, it doesn’t work. I thought it was my controller at first, but the B button works any other time I try and click it except for then. I’ve tried restarting my xbox, restarting the Sims and restarting my controller but nothing has worked. Any advice?Bought Sims 4 expansion pack twice, yet does not appear in library?
I just bought the businesses & hobbies expansion of Sims 4, yet the game is not appearing in my library or in game? I tried to buy it once with one of my cards, and then again with another card, and neither have worked despite having full balances. And I did receive the pop up of the successful purchase on both times. What should I do in this case?? Is this something that's been happening recently frequently or? How can I get a refund for one of those purchases??Sims keep getting sad moodlets every few Sim Hours
I am seriously going crazy over this. I don't know if it's a mod, cc's, or what (if it is, I am going to scream, because I have just built an awesome movie theater with some cc). Anyway, one of my Sims keeps getting a sad moodlet and keeps grieving every few Sim Hours, and I can't get rid of it. The UI mod didn't work, and I HATE having to use the same cheat codes every time I log into the game. This has never happened before, and has only happened when I downloaded Small Business and Hobbies, and it is driving me out of my mind, because it is REALLY annoying me (and it doesn't take much to annoy me). The thing is I have had several Sims die off in rapid succession (some family, some acquaintences, and some she only knows through her husband's candy store). Can we get this to stop?Can someone explain lovestrucks turn on & turn offs system?
I just have a general game question... I just got the lovestruck pack. The little gameplay I'm doing rn I'm having a sim date a 5 star world famous celebs son in order to get to the dad... I made sure all of her turn offs were related to the son & all of her turn ons were related to the dad but she still has extreme attraction towards the son & neutral towards the dad... I don't understand why. It’s the same with the dad who is in an unhappy relationship with his current wife. I made sure all of his turn offs were her traits but he still has extreme attraction towards her as well.
