One Month One World One Year Challenge 2026
Hello and welcome. :) This challenge was started by Karababy52 (see more here) and I would like to continue it on for another year if I can. Hopefully more people can join in. The more the merrier! The premise of this challenge is pretty simple. The goal is to post one in-game screenshot once a day during the 2026 year. So, kind of like a 365 project for your sims. You will start out with a teen sim and pick your starting world. I'll share a list of suggestions, but really you can pick whatever you want. Your sim will be a teen for 3 real world months, then age-up to Young Adult in April. They will spend 4 months as a Young Adult, then age-up to Adult in July. They will spend 4 more months as an Adult, then age-up to Elder in December. Each month your sim will move to a new world to explore. I've taken all the rules and guidelines here and copied them over from Karababy52's 2023 post and edited them slightly. Rules/Guidelines: One screenshot post per real life day in this thread with a short text summary. One world per real life month - See monthly schedule of worlds in spoiler below. Optional: May change schedule of worlds to reflect your preferences. Your challenge Sim MUST be a teen to officially begin this challenge and post in the thread. Exception: If you are starting the challenge late, you may begin in the current month at whatever age the challenge is at, or you may start as a teen to quickly finish your aspiration and school, then fast forward to the current age. (Example - if you start in April you may hurry through the teen stage and age up to YA, or just start as YA). After three real life months have passed, your Sim will age up to young adult for four months, adult for four months and finally, age up to an elder for December. Timeline posted in spoiler below. Optional: How long your Sim stays in each life stage, teen-elder, is at your own discretion. However, they are required to be at minimum a young adult to attend Uni in Britechester. *Note: If you own the High School Years EP, your Sims may be offered early graduation. If they take the offer, your teen is allowed to apply, enroll, and attend university or join full-time adult careers. Begin Rags to Riches style on an empty lot with 0 simoleons. Optional: Use the 20,000 starting simoleons to buy a starter home and furnish it how you want. Aging off. Optional: May use long lifespan. All unplayed residential worlds are off limits for any kind of travel. Exception: Newcrest may be designated a 'neutral' world to place venues for your Sim to use regardless of their current world residence. Optional: Newcrest may be used to replace a pack you don't own instead. Optional: Your sim may travel to other worlds not used in the challenge if they get an invitation. Sims may take a vacation to any of the designated vacations worlds. Rental lots in unplayed residential worlds are off limits. Aspirations released with a world must be fulfilled first. May choose a base game or other pack aspiration not in the challenge to complete afterward. Optional: Only one aspiration released with a world must be completed before choosing base game or other pack aspirations. Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, Newcrest and Magnolia Promenade may be used in substitution for worlds listed in the challenge for packs you may not own. In that event, choose one or two base game or other packs aspirations not in the challenge to complete per world. Your Sim may marry and/or have children. Aging up children is at your own discretion. High School attendance is not required. May use cheats to fulfill daily/promotional task requirements. *Exception: Applicable only if you do not own the High School Years EP or if you do own it, but have elected not to have your Sim live in Copperdale and do the aspirations associated with the EP in your challenge. The beginning of each new month/world starts Rags to Riches style. Optional: Your Sim may keep everything they have accumulated and use their funds to buy or build a new house, or even move their house to their new world. If your challenge Sim dies, it's game over. Optional: You may bring them back to life and continue or use another existing Sim in the household to complete the challenge. Or, keep playing as a ghost! Occult states and Celebrity statuses must be removed when progressing to the next month/world. Optional: May keep acquired lifestates/statuses. *Note: Vampires can't get a suntan, which is a Beach Life aspiration task. If a new world is released with a new pack at any time during 2026, you have the option to swap the new world with another prior released world. Give yourself a break and don't stress over days missed due to internet outages, vacations/holidays, real life work/responsibilities or sickness. Extra story screenshots may be posted, but try to keep it to around 5-10 max. There's no limit for screenshots shared on your blog. May use satisfaction points to buy rewards. Exception: Money tree seeds are disallowed. Lottery tickets are disallowed for purchase. Beginning season, length of days and moon phases are your choice. May turn off or cheat away/change all Eco Lifestyle features applied to worlds. Exception: Must be turned on while living in Evergreen Harbor. May participate in all default Holidays, modify, delete and/or add your own. May include a link to your preferred Blog site with additional story text/screenshots, in addition to your Daily Post Pic/Text Summary. Mod friendly challenge! However, please use discretion when using them. Using a mod to fulfill an aspiration is disallowed. Exception: May be used to correct bugs and/or glitches. Worlds/Packs and Age-Up Timeline: *Note: Feel free to replace any pack you don't own with one of your choosing! Happy New Year and welcome to another Sims 3 community collaboration hosted by Hidehi2 , Sandraelle and soocoolsim ! Introducing Petite Alsace inspired by picturesque Strasbourg, Colmar and Ribeauville with a dual French and German blend of charming, flower-laden villages and half-timbered homes. We anticipate the completed world will be a lovely addition to your game. Experienced creators (Intermediate+) are invited to join us in creating builds to add to the base world. If you love decorating but building isn’t your forte, let us know and we'll try to build a shell for you. Everyone can experience Petite Alsace taking shape by downloading the base world and installing builds as they become available. Please keep an eye on the "News and Updates" post for milestones and links to new creations as they become available. Constructive comments throughout this event are also welcome, so don't be shy. Without further ado, onto the details below and come join in the fun! LOT LISTINGS Map A: Colmar (Medieval, half-timbered houses with flower-filled balconies) Map B: Ribeauville (Pastel, half-timbered 15th - 18th century houses) Map C: Ribeauville Outskirts (Farming area) Map D: Strasbourg (City area, mix of old and new buildings) Map E: Avenue du Rhin (Wine region) Map F: Route de Alsace (Rural area) CLAIMING OVERVIEW Download the empty Petite Alsace base world created by the talented Hidehi2. Take a look at the available lots using the Map posts as reference (see links above). Indicate you're on board and sign up for your first claim by replying on this thread with your chosen map lot reference # (eg A8). I will update the lists with claims and add download / media links when builds are completed. Every two weeks (around the 1st and 15th of the month) a new claiming period starting with a 'Claiming Day' post will begin. During this period, if you join the collaboration or have a build in progress on Claiming Day, you can claim 1 lot. For ongoing participants, if all previously claimed builds are completed and (no cc) download link(s) submitted by Claiming Day, you may claim up to 2 lots. BUILDING GUIDELINES Please stay within the theme of each map area and overall Alsace inspiration. You have creative freedom otherwise. Inspiration links at the top of this post may be helpful. All / any EA Expansion Packs, Stuff Packs and official Store Items can be used. Free EA Store Items are OK for use. Note: Some are no longer available for download so use at your discretion. NO third-party Custom Content is allowed. Please Custard Check your exported file before uploading to double check. We highly recommend play-testing your build before uploading to ensure no routing concerns and users can enjoy as intended. Do test placement of your final build. This helps identify any potential issues (e.g. windows / floor tiles out of place). To do this... export your build, save your game, delete the existing build, then replace with the exported version from your library. Take a careful look around and fix as needed. It will be useful for players if the Petite Alsace lot address is included in your build description on the Exchange, albeit optional. Do take the time to put your best foot forward to make your build(s) shine inside and out. Just be cautious about using a ton of clutter since that can add to lag when playing. Each build will be showcased with credit in video walkthroughs on YouTube once the world is completed. Once your build is available on the Sims 3 Exchange, please post a reply on this thread including: name of build / map reference and/or address / download link / cover picture / custard screenshot confirming no 3rd party custom content included. Optional! Link to additional picture site / thread. SIMS / HOUSEHOLDS This collaboration focuses on builds since the final world save file will be unpopulated, however we are happy to link to Sims / Households created for Petite Alsace. Petite Alsace builders can submit Sims / Households for their completed claims as well as Townie use. All / any EA Expansion Packs, Stuff Packs and official Store Items can be used. Free EA Store Items are OK for use. Note: Some are no longer available for download so use at your discretion. NO third-party Custom Content is allowed. Please Custard Check your exported file before uploading to double check. Once your Sim / Household is available on the Exchange, please post a reply on this thread including: name / map reference or address (or identify as Townie) / download link / 1 cover picture / custard screenshot confirming no 3rd party custom content included. Optional! Link to additional picture site / showcase thread. Looking forward to participation by the Sims 3 community! 😀 STORIES Players may wish to enjoy this world as it evolves and we welcome links to any Petite Alsace story threads / blogs. Just post a reply advising us. Click this link for submissions. NEWS & UPDATES Click this link for the list of completed builds and other updates as released. My new video series - Perfect Genetics Challenge - is now available for viewing on YouTube. https://youtu.be/iQUhw5SbutM This video is a little over 16 minutes. It is an introduction to my founder, Olivia. We first meet her in Create a Household. We see her first home and job. She meets her man and they start getting to know each other. This challenge ought to be colourful. Not only does Olivia have blue, purple, pink and yellow hair but she has a very pale blue skin and pinkish purple eyes. The challenge requires her to produce an heir, male or female, who has the exact same hair and eye colour. Once the heir is confirmed, the mother will concentrate on living her life until the heir is old enough to take on the challenge. There is no upper limit to the number of babies she might have to produce before the heir arrives. Consequently I've set the age spans to be reasonably long but will use cake to age the family up as required. I plan to stop the mother from having more babies once it is confirmed the heir has been born. The heir will age up from toddler to child when they have done all of their toddler skills. And from Child to Teen after completing all of the child skills and getting onto the honour roll at school. The teen will age up to young adult after they have been to a prom and have learned fishing and cooking skills and read all of the fishing and recipe books. This means they'll need to get to level 7 in fishing and level 10 in cooking before I will let them age up to Young Adult. They may learn other skills along the way and need to be at least A Grade students. If they haven't learned the required skills and done the required reading within 105 days they'll age up automatically. When the heir is about the age up to Young Adult, hopefully the day before the teen is ready to age up to young adult, I'll age the parents up to Adult. The Adult life stage is also quite long just in case the mother automatically ages up to adult before she has produced the heir. The Elder life stage is also long. Babies will need grandparents around for a while. I may reduce the length of the Elder life stage at some point if the elders are accumulating. Moonlit Falls is full of supernaturals and I won't worry about when that population ages up. I'll be using EA Story Progression so if the town population ages up very slowly maybe there will still be sims around town by the time my founder's descendants start moving into the general townie population. All babies born to the founder and her heirs will have randomised traits with the one exception that each heir must have the dislikes children trait. There are no restrictions on how the main household earns their income. They can go out collecting, or gardening or whatever they choose. I will be getting them the no bills ever lifetime reward asap because I have a bad habit of forgetting about the bills and have difficulty working out what the repo man has taken. Due to the lack of restrictions on how they earn/come by their money the game will have many and varied activities in it throughout this challenge. One of the first wishes my founder got is to travel to Egypt to buy a recipe book. I do plan to grant that wish soon. Perhaps she can go there on her honeymoon. She has already met her man. I made him specially for her. She's blue with purple and blue hair, he's green with green hair and eyes. But their skin colouring is subtle. I think that about covers it. I hope you decide to watch. I'm keeping the length of these episodes to around 10 to 15 minutes each. Please consider subscribing if you are going to watch the videos as that way you'll know whenever a new episode is posted.4.1KViews6likes163CommentsCreek Tales - A Pack Legacy Challenge (updated 03/22)
When Maxis introduced the option of turning packs off and on in game, I was wildly tempted to create a Pack Legacy Challenge for the game. Of course, someone else already did, but as usual, I'm all about creating my own rules based on my own playing style and play badly when others dictate my game, which of course means I'll make the rules up as I go, still there are a few basics. Basic guidelines I intend follow: I will start with an entirely base game family, the Creek-family (introduced below). They (including the kids) are generation 1 of this challenge. With every new generation at least one new pack (EP, GP, SP or Kit) will be unlocked. That generation then has to truly explore that pack, meaning jobs, looks, decorations, aspirations, traits, skills even deaths should be explored to the fullest by the sims born in that generation. The exception is seasons, which will be unlocked as the oldest child of gen 1, Willow, ages up to a teen. Which pack that will be unlocked will depend on the first trait given to the first child in the next generation (so a family orientated child will unlock parenthood or growing together, depending on which have been unlocked before). Some traits only unlock kits. In that case the second trait given to a child of that generation will unlock a pack. Some kits will also be unlocked with a specific pack if it feels like a good combination, like country kitchen with cottage living or industrial loft with city living. And some rules (yes, even I have a few rules): All traits are to be given randomly, with the exceptions being that a sim of a new generation MUST take traits of a newly unlocked pack if there are any, randomly if there are several. When every trait of the newly unlocked pack is assigned to a sim in game, randomness for all available traits are allowed. When the first child of the next generation receive their first trait, true randomness applies as that will dictate the next pack to unlock. A new pack is unlocked when the oldest child of a generation ages up to teen. No CC is allowed, a part from the occasional ad-on pack (separations of items already in game, matching chairs to a sofa or more window options). Even add-ons should be kept to a minimum. This is after all about exploring the packs to their fullest. Mods are allowed, but not those that significantly adds gameplay options (such as career-mods, new aspirations, traits or new gameplay). The purpose here is to explore the options of the packs after all. For me, myself, I intend to start out only with BetterBuildBuy and MCCC and try to keep other mods to a minimum (that lasted less than an hour, there are simply too many things I cannot live with in game, but the aim is the same, keep mods to a minimum and no mods that adds gameplay). As for the rest, well that's up in the air still. I plan on starting with aging on normal, but as that is very new to me, I might change that to long instead as I've never managed to live with normal age span before. Either way, adult lifespan will be about twice the usual length for how else are they going to be able to see their kids grow up and have kids of their own? And with that I think it's time to meet our founding family. As with The Whittaker Saga I will write the post in a blog and post the links here. This decision makes no sense and deserves to be called out. The Sims Mobile was the only Sims game on mobile that respected players’ time, creativity, and emotional investment. Instead of expanding it with more careers, hobbies, and worlds — which players repeatedly asked for — EA chose to completely shut it down. This was not because the game was bad. This was not because there was no demand. This was because EA decided it was easier and more profitable to abandon it. Pushing players toward The Sims FreePlay is not a solution. FreePlay is a fundamentally different game: excessive timers, limited Create-a-Sim, restricted building, outdated mechanics, and aggressive monetization. It does not replace Sims Mobile in any meaningful way. For iPad and mobile-only players, EA effectively removed The Sims entirely. There is no alternative, no successor, and no acknowledgment that a large part of the community preferred story-driven, fast, creative gameplay over timer-based grinding. This shutdown shows a complete disregard for player feedback. Many of us would have continued supporting Sims Mobile if EA had invested in meaningful content instead of abandoning it. EA didn’t just shut down a game — it broke trust with its players. At the very least, the Sims Mobile community deserves: • a clear and honest explanation • acknowledgment of what was lost • and reassurance that future Sims mobile projects will not repeat this mistake Silence and forced migration to a worse product is not acceptable.476Views2likes4CommentsSweet Surprise
Sul Sul and Happy Friday to you my fellow Simmers! Today I want to share with you a build that I did that was actually QTSimz first shell challenge. It was shaped as a QT and I was so stumped by what I wanted to do at first. So I pondered it and thought a cafe with a small apartment would be such an awesome challenge to do. Most of my shell challenges are named after the Simmer I am building them for, so I named this one QT's Cafe. Since we were still in the Fall/Halloween season, I did want to theme it to fit the season. So I did a little bit of both by using the Halloween theme in the cafe and I also did a communal area that has a playground, food stalls and pumpkin carving stations. Following is my backstory for the build: QT just bought an old building and decided to open a small cozy cafe. With her small apartment in the back, she enjoys sitting on her front patio and watch all the people having a good time in the park behind the building. I am going to be truly honest when I say that I was so shocked by the amount of downloads this build got. Never in my dreams would I imagine that 238 people could love a build as much as I enjoyed putting it together. I am still wondering how that happened...hahahaha!😂 It definitely was a sweet surprise!😁 Do you guys have any builds that you are shocked got so many downloads? Attached are some photos of the build and if you are interested in downloading it, my gallery ID is Froggy2747. Enjoy and Happy Simming!113Views5likes5CommentsChallenge: Rags to Riches
A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away... sims 1 and 2 existed ;) There was once two challenges in these games. The Sims 1 "pauper to prince" challenge: you start off on a vacant lot, build what you need to survive, save up enough money to eventually end up in the most expensive house in your neighborhood. The Sims 2 "Survival" challenge: you create a sim or sim family and place them on a lot which is essentially a park in appearance, take away all their money, and try to make them survive. I've seen both of them brought back for sims 3, I'd love to see how many of you can combine the challenges. I declare (I'm sure it's been proposed before on another forum) a challenge. The title of this challenge will be "Sims 3: Rags to Riches" the rules: you must make a sim or family and place them on a lot as described in the sims 2 challenge. The lot is just a basic park setup (toilets are allowed), with benches provided. use the sims testing cheat to remove all of the family funds. try to keep them alive, eventually finding a way to make money and move into the most expensive lot available. After the initial removing of the funds, no cheats are allowed. Post your stories on the exchange and post a reply here to let us know to go check it out. I'm interested to see what everyone comes up with and equally interested in seeing what lots, sims, and worlds are created from this. Happy Simming5.9KViews1like7CommentsMaasVerse Challenge

Disclaimer: I never have created a challenge before, beyond just loosely giving myself challenges/goals. I feel there aren't enough occult based challenges or non-generational challenges. Occult abilities can basically make the game easier, so having a challenge to include occults to balance out difficulty is the premise. This is based on my playstyle with the perks, challenges, and goals I tend to have in mind. This challenge, however, is more strict than I usually play, so I haven't play tested it yet. Link to Google doc. Sim types for this challenge: +The Apothecary Enchanter Collector +The Eccentric Scientist +The Healer of Body and Heart +The Mischievous Manipulator +The Scavenger +The Simple and Natural Lifestyle +The Strange and Unusual +The Survivalist +The Traveling Virtuoso Each Sim type is a different way to survive (with or without magic/enchanted help). Most of the types are encouraged selections, but can be customized to preference, and packs. As long as their Challenges/Goals are followed. You can have as many types as you want without duplicates. Edit: Updated and Tweaks added as of March 19, 2026. So I have done some play testing on (haven't been 100% to the challenge, but trying to keep to the challenge is rewarding enough, and some things were situational or ruined by autonomy anyways). I am enjoying it, I plan to do a non-playtesting file, and rotationally do each challenge! But in the meantime while testing I learn the limitations, and have been adjusting the google doc with updates (also since R&L came out has some updates, which really fleshed out, and made The Mischievous Manipulator, so much more fun! Dynasties also help with some narrowing skill/ideal based autonomy as well). +The Apothecary Enchanter Collector +The Mischievous Manipulator +The Survivalist If anyone was following the R&L Official Screen shot thread I have some screenshots of The Mischievous Manipulator. his romantic partner is The Apothecary Enchanter Collector. But I'll recap in the post. The Survivalist (I was doing in that same file but in a new save file I decided to play him solo and more in depth with plans of rotationally playing to the other challenges), not as much screenshots as it was originally meant as a test file.194Views1like4Comments
