[Old Report] Dead Space Remake Freezing computer / DirectX Error / Driver Crash
Yesterday, I tried playing the remake. After going through the settings to ensure that my system would have the best chance to run it, I started the game. The game froze after Nicole's first sentence. I noticed that my second screen showed a bunch of visual artifacts, mostly, the windows system icons splattered across the screen at various angles. I tried again at a lower resolution and in windowed mode, this time I got a little window attached to the game application: DirectX Error: DirectX Function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The GPU will not respond to more commands"). GPU: "AMD Radeon VII", Driver: 22.11.2 (22.20.29.10-21130a-386220E-AMD-Software-Adrenalin-Edition). This error is usually caused by the graphics driver crashing; try reinstalling the latest drivers. Following that advice, I updated the drivers and got the same result. I ran an `sfc /scannow` command, restarted multiple times, made sure Windows was up to date, all drivers were up to date, and the whole nine yards. After everything was done, I no longer got that error message... Now, instead of the game hitching and allowing me to just close the game and try again, my whole computer freezes. I've even rolled my AMD drivers back to the recommended 22.5.1 version EA recommended. Hi! I'm running this game on Steam and I have the sprint and aim bug, I can't sprint and I'm stuck in aim mode. I pickup my weapon and then just get instantly stuck in aiming mode. On the original, I read it used to be solved by pressing caps lock, but that didn't work in this game. I have it installed on an SSD so I know that isn't something of an issue! And when I open my menus, the weapon fires as well!Solved11KViews0likes37CommentsTraversal stutter on PC
The PC version suffers from traversal stuttering, moving to new areas very often causes the game to stutter, this can also happen randomly from my experience. I have read 100s of reports on ResetEra and Reddit, it is not a hardware issue. I literally built this PC yesterday so everything is fresh. https://streamable.com/ga6zlg I have uploaded a video showing 100% reproducible stutter when entering a new area, this is not an isolated instance. 13700k/3080/32GB DDR5 6200MHZ, NVMe SSD, Win 10 Pro10KViews16likes171CommentsDead Space Remake Crashing On High End PC after 20 minutes of gameplay
This is extremely frustrating. I have tried everything. I verified the game files, repaired my DXdrivers, updated my graphics drivers, stress tested my hardware, ran an sfc scan, reseated my GPU and NOTHING has been able to fix this issue. I am on the verge of getting a refund. Please help me so I don't have to go down that avenue. Does this game cache stuff to storage for better gameplay like what does building shaders do? I've just installed a Samsung 250GB Evo 970 Pro NMVe drive I was going or plan to use it for Windows, but I wanted to see if this game would run better but it runs worse for some reason I know I know my RX580 8GB isn't supported but I did get it working using FSR 2.0 performance mode8.5KViews0likes2Comments"DXGI_ERROR_NOT_CURRENTLY_AVAILABLE" Error
Hi everyone, We've seen some reports from players running into a "DXGI_ERROR_NOT_CURRENTLY_AVAILABLE" error when attempting to play Dead Space. Rolling back your GPU drivers to a previous version should help with this. We recommend rolling back to the following driver versions: AMD: version 22.5.1 NVIDIA: version 527.37 If you're an NVIDIA user you can find more info on how to roll back your drivers at the NVIDIA website. For AMD users, you should be able to download the specific driver version mentioned above from the AMD driver website. When you locate the drivers for your GPU, you may need to click "Previous Drivers" to see older releases. When installing the driver, choose the "clean install" option. That will remove the currently installed driver and replace it with the version you've downloaded. If you're still running into the same error after rolling back your drivers, please reply to this thread and attach a DxDiag file. You can find more information on how to grab your DxDiag at the EA Help website. Once you have the text file please attach it to your reply in this thread. Thank you!8.4KViews0likes25CommentsXbox controller not working
I'm playing dead space remake through the EA app on Windows 11. The Xbox controller will not work after trying many workarounds mentioned in the community, I have tried re-pairing the controller via Bluetooth. I tried plugging the controller in using usb. I tried adding the game to steam. I tried disconnecting all my usb peripherals. Nothing works. Will there be a patch to fix this issue or is there a solution I have not tried?Solved8.2KViews0likes23CommentsRazer Tartarus Pro Gaming Keypad
Severe incompatibility with Razer Tartarus Pro Gaming Keypad Upon playing for the first time I tried using my Razer Tartarus Pro Gaming Keypad, but found that the game would fire the gun randomly, and multiple functions would not work (space, right click, shift). Upon unplugging the device everything returned to normal, but forced me to use my standard keyboard. The odd part is that I wasn't trying to use a mix of controller and keyboard, because I found that had issues. I was using it in keyboard mode, nothing fancy.Solved8.1KViews0likes17Comments[Old Report] Controls stop working in Dead Space on Steam
I have a problem whilst playing the dead space remake on steam. Every so often, maybe 10 mins, then 5 mins, then maybe 30 mins later the controls will stop responding. If I wait for maybe 1 min the controls start responding again. I get this problem whilst playing on keyboard and mouse, wireless xbox controller or wired playstation dual sense controller. I have tried unbinding all the settings in the controls menu to just leave the keyboard and mouse settings active, this does not work. I have tried turning controllers off in steam, this does not work. I have tried running in big picture mode, this does not work either. Is there a known working fix for this ?, if not Is this something that is on the radar for a patch ? Thanks in advanceSolved7.3KViews0likes91Comments
