Return to Listening
After so many really bad changes recently, I've had to start rethinking the time I put in. But instead I decided to write something to hopefully get someone to listen. I doubt it, but maybe. Comment what you like, I found this to be rather calming. Overmonetization Let's get the big one out of the way first. That is what I've seen happen. This game has gone from a somewhat good balance of active/passive income to just active. Pay to do this, pay to get that, pay to play this event. Yeah, that is really what is driving people away. This sole issue arches over everything and is causing people to leave more than anything else. The devs are seeing money not coming in and are trying to squeeze everyone for more, but that causes more to slip out and leave. Active income from paying for toons, shards, and gear was and would have always been a thing. It is a constant, but if the percentage of focus on this gets too high, LIKE IT IS NOW, then it just pushes people out. To have a FTP game, and force everyone to pay for anything good makes people leave or not start it. Reviews and feedback show this. This game needs to step back from forcing active income sources down everyone's throat, and return to a more healthy balance of active/passive income. What is passive income? This is when people willing pay for more because they like playing the game and what something. This is many driven by new toons, events, and features. Or if someone really wants to gear something up and is like "Fine". But the game has none of this anymore. No interesting features, no cool events, and new toons are now locked behind paywalls. Yeah, this makes people be like "well I have to pay for that so I'm not going to" and then quit. This is the big one because everything else is a symptom of this. The micro transactions were bearable but now it is just everywhere and it just makes people not want to play if they have to pay for every small thing and not see results or see so little results that they won't do it again. Find that balance again by adding features or redoing things that bring people back and reactivate that passive income stream. Community Feedback: If everyone is complaining about something, then devs need to stop taking it as an insult and instead look into the reasons why. I feel the devs have fallen so far out of touch with the general community that they can't be see the forest for the trees. So many bad changes recently and characters that are too broken or overpowered that without specific things, they will win every time, and one of those things is luck. One way to solve this is I would challenge the entire dev team to start a new FTP account and see the challenges. Stop using maxed out accounts and instead start from scratch on an account that can't just be given everything. Try climbing the GAC ladder without any of the conquest toons. Ships Please stop ignoring this step child. They need love too. Ships are so stagnant that they need a refresh and soon. But not just a new capital ship. That is the last thing that is needed. We need new ships in general. "Oh no that throws off balance" well yeah, it kind of needs it now. Levi is too overpowered and without some luck, or the same repetitive tactics, it usually is a loss. A mirror match shouldn't be the only thing that ensures a win. There are thousands of ships that are in Star Wars and need to have some love. Fleets need to be built out more and more general ships need to be added. More Seps, Resistance, and FO especially. We are still missing a LOT of Rebel, Empire, BH, and Galactic Republic ships as well that could easily help fleets. One fleet shouldn't be the all powerful and instead a balance is needed because the balance is very off. Datacrons The "new" cadence is broken. It is a symptom of overmonitization. Your player base is shrinking because of lack of innovation and new things and you are trying to squeeze what is left for every penny, but it is just making more leave. Stop it. A new set every conquest ensures that unless you buy stuff, you will never have enough time or resources for farming the current conquest character and get a healthy datacron set. The previous cadence was fine. It allowed everyone to get stuff without having to dump money into a game at a rather stupid rate. Stop this new cadence and go back to the previous one which better balanced FTP and PTW. Just go back to the previous cadence and help the playerbase. GAC Why don't we have the ability to make custom tournaments yet? Interguild tournaments? or anything else? You have proven it is possible so why can't we? Custom rules and everything. Oh wait, of course, it doesn't make money. And that is where you are wrong. It doesn't make money directly, but it makes money passively by keeping the community engaged, keeping them playing, and keeping them wanting more. You are so focused on active income that the devs have dived off that cliff and ignored many QoL features that players have been asking for. GAC is probably one of the ways that people enjoy the game, but it needs custom options. You can still do the main one, but more custom options are needed. Relic So the devs put themselves in the corner on this one when they made G13 relic. The smarter thing would have been add like 2-4 Gold gear tiers and have G15 or 16 be Relic. Relic 11 will come, but it is only a response to poor decisions and being painted into a corner so tight that you only have one way forward. Relic delta is still a bad idea and is causing issues for anyone who relied on underdog teams and it is again pushing players out because they feel they can't compete anymore without dropping money and they don't want to do that. Pull relic delta and go back to the old system and maybe find a way to stop having only new relic tiers as progression because you artificially limited yourself. Maybe something new like R10 being the last relic and something else? Something that is much more FTP friendly. Events More journey/epic/other events. This needs to happen. Era battles are not what was being asked for because era units are stupid. They are basically useless unless you spent a lot of money and the battles are broken. Revamp old events, make new ones, do things to get people in and not have a paywall in front of them. Events are a side thought now and they need to return to being a main thought because having rotating events is something that can put that passive income wheel spinning as people gear up for events like that. Eras So in the second era, things that were already bad, are worse. Payouts are worse, gear is worse, and the monetization is still there, but now much more in your face. I truly believe the era system should end after this one and a return to the old method of character introductions. This hasn't worked and is just putting another paywall down. We saw the first result and it was disappointing to say the least. The excuses are far flung but this system was clearly thought of in a vacuum under the monetization principal and ignored everything else. Episodes were great as they allowed for more passive and FTP players to get stuff, while also probably also enjoying things more. Now it is all locked behind a stupid 3 month system and a massive paywall that people do not want to pay anymore. Coliseum Yeah, this needs work. It is basically an auto fest for most people and that is because there really isn't a point to do anything else as hackers and cheaters exploit the system. This could be a great event, but with a LOT of rework. There are 7 days in the week, so 7 different opponents. Finding creatures/things won't be difficult, just look around the Star Wars universe and I'm sure you can find 3 more. The rewards also probably need to change because of the previous point on Eras. There needs to be more than just currency that people are shot on, again another paywall, and the slim chance to get something more with a lucky run, whether it be auto or manual. It is something new, which is great, but needs to have some serious work done to make it better. Territory War This game mode is too stale, too bland, too easy to ignore. I'm not sure what can change it that hasn't already been said, but maybe new modes, new maps, more zones, better balancing (THIS ONE especially), and other methods that make guilds work better. The whole mode has had so many suggestions over the years that I'm not going to rehash them, but there is plenty of things that can be done to make this better. Sandbox mode Why doesn't this exist yet? Many other games have something to this effect where you can have some fun but why not here? This isn't active income, it isn't even passive I'll give you that, but it is a mode that will make people stay because they can actually try things and see. Maybe it isn't 100% the exact same thing, but it can make people feel better. We all know this exists but why isn't it in game yet? Every now and then, free stuff makes the community happy and a mode like this, that people have been begging for, for years, would help. It needs to be something that is added because other places have it and the fact this game is 10 and doesn't shows that the devs aren't listening anymore. Also no one has ever answered why it won't be added? But my guess is monetization. Just a note, not everything in a game needs to be monetized. Some things like this, are there to keep people playing because if they see that there is just a small thing they need to push it over, then maybe they will shell out and buy it. Oh look passive income. Guilds In the developed nature of the game, there is zero reason that guilds are still limited to 50 people. This number needs to be raised. I personally think 100 might be overkill, but then again maybe not. But 50 isn't well balanced anymore and needs to be addressed. And the guilds themselves need some thing internal to keep people interested. Maybe custom GAC, a new guild ship mode, or something, I don't know really, but TB/TW/Raids, are just not doing it and something else is needed to draw people in. Raids Can you please stop making new units mandatory for the raid? This does nothing but anger everyone. It has caused guilds to collapse because of everyone fighting over stuff. A raid also needs to be predictable, repeatable, and not be a grind for a guild. Endor was fun because it used teams that were already there. If the next raid is Era units only, I'm 100% sure the player base will shrink even further. The next raid needs to have the overwhelming majority of the units be things that are unlocked already. Give people a chance to have some fun while also holding a few things to make it better for maybe some specific units. I currently hate the Order 66 raid and it is so annoying to do. So maybe think about that next time, make things more accessible and drive that passive income stream back online. Campaigns So this is something that has puzzled me. I see every time a new toon becomes FTP farmable, there seems to be a scramble to put it somewhere. Now I'm not saying my preference here, but since Hard nodes seem to be the norm, I am struggling to see why the same number of hard nodes still exist? Why haven't more been added. With most people's rosters that are left, doing more would be easy and take stress of the devs to find places, but ships, light, and dark side nodes have room to expand, so why not? It seems like they are ripe for more, but instead get ignored. This would give easier farming for people, easier methods for farming, and allow more gear to be added to nodes. Also maybe another layer for Cantina that added relic stuff alone, gives other things, and generally make it easier. For everyone. Limits Why do energy and currently limits exist anymore? There is no reason. Simple. It forces people to buy things that only get refilled quickly. So why have them exist. Oh wait, horders. Well when the stores have nothing to offer, then maybe that is the issue that needs to be addressed? Well I've said my piece. I don't care if anyone agrees with me, I just felt this would help my mood on the game, and it has.320Views11likes5CommentsRelic Delta destroyed PvP
PvP, specifically GAC and TW, are the only reasons to play this game seriously. Relic delta did away with what made PvP great—planning out strategic counters to character’s game mechanics. A grand chess match with Star Wars characters. This is now pointless unless you spend thousands of dollars to on relic gear bundles. The relic delta system punishes normal responsible spenders and FTP. My old guild of many years retired over this garbage. My current guild is starting to quit PvP. I’m about ready to quit this game. It really seems like the developers intended to kill the player base and siphon one last cash grab while doing it. Doing away with relic delta would show that is not the case and go a long way to restoring what made the game fun.237Views1like6Comments"Casual" Guilds
Does "casual" mean the guild gets 15k-18k tickets a day with half or more people getting under 600 tickets or none at all, but somehow most players manage to click "join" during TWs just to get 0 banners there too? And guild leaders and officers that have "inactivity x days" policy but don't even notice people are logging in but not getting a single ticket or log in only on Saturdays to get a couple hundred tickets and beg for free gear? Do "casual" guilds always have at least one person that plays the shopping game and logs in to star/gear characters but who doesn't actually use energy to get tickets or join any events? Yeah, I get it. You "have a life." You "play when you can." Isn't there a certain level of commitment when joining a guild with other players or is it normal for half the player base to leech? Where do the people that actually play fit in? Is it just the high GP guilds that have active participants? This is definitely not a rant of course. It's just curiosity. Some people participate. A lot don't. But why can't the people that all participate get together?336Views1like16CommentsTB QOL - Officer Commands
As we all know TB requires active participants to follow specific orders set by the guild leader/officers in order to get the most out of the guild. Unfortunately the options we have are to set Focus/Prohibit and hope members follow what's posted. Nothing more is available to ensure the posted orders are followed. My guild for instance has about 30 active participants so we set specific goals each phase to try and max out the stars we can achieve. I cant tell you how many times someone has deployed in a shut off zone and pushed us over the limit for a star when we didnt want to get one yet. What im proposing is a setting for the leadership to sbe able to set a limit to how much GP can be deployed to a zone. This way no one can ignore the prohibit order and the guilds focus can be achieved. More control has been asked for years for TB yet nothing has ever been done about it. Im sure im not the only one out there that has had to kick people out for not following the posted orders cause players can ignore them and basically only get a slap on the wrist for going rogue.135Views0likes4CommentsUpdate turned on 3rd party tracking and data sharing
During the update released on march 4, our settings got reset, and one of the settings within was a 3rd party sharing which defaulted to on, I’m sure this wasn’t intended as it’s a possible violation of law to turn on 3rd party sharing without consent. I’m curious to see if CG/EA will issue a statement allowing the community to know about this issue. Just trying to shed some light on this topic232Views0likes3CommentsTerritory Battle Idea: The Galactic Civil War

why in the world are we not able to SIM TB's? Such a waste of time, it takes way too long pls don't add ship mods. I already hate it on characters and adding it to ships would off my will to play competitively tbh. It's too tedious and boring to bother with mods37Views0likes0Comments
