Multiple Technical Issues (The Sims 4)
I've been having issues with the sims for months I have no idea what I've been doing wrong. I assumed it had something to do the with CC and mods, but I tried removing them and launching the game and I'm still having the same issues. I have had this constant this lag where I it takes longer to do certain task, and the Highschool years pack is not working properly the day runs t longer and task gets harder to complete. Other Sims won't do anything else but stand around and do nothing else. I assumed that it was probably due to my internet connections, but it's not that. Also, not really an big issue but the main screen wallpaper does not change when new packs dropped. Please HelpCheat Bar
Whenever I open up the cheat bar no matter what I do it won’t close again it just gets stuck there. I tried restarting the game, going to manage worlds, going to main menu, EVERYTHING. Nothing is working i don’t know what to do and it’s so annoying. Ever since this latest update it’s been doing this.Is this coming from Sims4?
I recently purchased a new laptop and one of the first things I did was setup my Steam games, including Sims4. At some point shortly after that I got a notification from MS OneDrive about deleting hundreds of jpg files. Up until this point I have not deleted anything but the # of files continues to grow with each new notification and the last notification showed 1172 files to be deleted. I've not played any other games on this new laptop so far besides Sims4. I never had this occur on my other laptop but can't attribute it to any other programs. An example of one of the files, in case it helps, is 3c2a8647-00000002-0001d72a.jpg That means nothing to me in terms of identifying what the file is related too. Has anyone else experienced this with Sims4 and, if so, did you delete the files?Low FPS with good hardware
I have been with the FPS for a long time with two worlds once in Ciudad Enamorada in the neighborhood “Plaza Mariposa”. And now with the new expansion pack “Enchanted by Nature” in all three new neighborhoods. When I scroll out to see everything, the FPS goes down to below 40 - 50 FPS (In the worst case 30 FPS) and despite good hardware. This also applies to bulit lots. Hardware: Windows 10 AMD Ryzen 7 3700x (8x, 3.60 GHz) RTX 4060 SSD 1 TB 32 GB RAM Game Settings: Everything to the max (Ultra), but it can't be possible to have such a low FPS when zooming out on good hardware! Game-Version: 1.116.223.1030 (DirectX 11) Packs: I own all the packs. Other: Yes, the graphics driver is up to date. Yes, cache has been cleared. Yes, the game has been repaired UPDATE (11/07/2025): Tested in different worlds. The result was that the newer worlds are not optimized or the engine, whatever the problem is. It should be tackled! If you also have good hardware, then it's not up to you!102Views0likes6CommentsGame freezes, crashes or both.
Hello there! I'm writing this as my last resort because I don't know what to do anymore. About two weeks ago, I upgraded from MAC to PC. I transferred my save file and all mod and cc I had been using to the new PC. The only new thing added to my game was gshade since I couldn't use it before. I have never been able to play my game in this PC. (GPU: NVIDIA Geforce RTX 5070 Ti). Every time I play the game, it crashes from 5 minutes to 20 minutes into the game. Crashes out of nowhere are rare, what usually happens is that my game freezes, I can't click anything but I hear sound effects like something is happening, even though I can't see it. If I click on the windows key and try to go to the game again, it either crashes or the screen turns completely white with sound effects in the background like before until it eventually crashes. I've tried updating every mod (even though in my MAC they still work fine), I uninstalled gshade, I took my mods folder out, created a new save, tried an older one, the game remains just the same. It runs for 20 minutes tops and it seems that mods or cc are not the issue since I tried to play in a clean save. I also tried repairing the game, and still it did not work. The same issue remains. I haven't had a PC in a good 5 years so I think I might be forgetting something system related. As of now, I made sure the HDMI cable is connected to my GPU, and I also selected the graphic's card on the graphic settings for the game to make sure it doesn't use my motherboard at all. I checked the drivers for my graphics card through the system and it says it's updated. My fangs also seem to be working well, and the RGB on my RAM is on so I'm assuming it's also working as intended atm. I have 32 GB of RAM. If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it. And if anyone else is having this problem or there's a suspicion that it's an EA thing and not a build thing, please also tell me. If I don't find any solutions I might just return the PC since the game it's working perfectly fine on my laptop/MAC. Is this a good call? Hi, I upgraded my graphics card to RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. When I launched Sims 4, I've got the message about unsupported graphics card. I said "OK, I guess this card is too new to be recognised by the game yet" and decided to add it. So, I located GraphicsCards.sgr, copied it to ConfigOverride folder in My Documents and opened it. What I've found inside was shocking. The latest Nvidia graphics card added was RTX 4080 and latest AMD card added was RX 6700 XT. RTX 4080, the latest card on this list, was released in November 2022, so, over two and a half year ago. And since then, no new card was added? Seriously EA? To make sure I don't have some older version of the file on my PC, I went through repairing the game files in EA App. But still, no change. Obviously, EA stopped adding new cards and I have to wonder why. Anyway, I added my card to the list and now everything works without issues. But still, EA should be adding new cards to the list with updates, as this is causing troubles for less tech savvy Simmers, who, after graphics card, or computer update will get this message and may even panic that there is something wrong with their new configuration. And that's not good.74Views0likes5Commentssims 4 launches a clear window and then immediately closes

Hi everyone! A few months ago, I bought a cheap, used Lenovo Thinkpad to play the sims on since it took up too much space on my main laptop. I own a lot of packs and have downloaded quite a few cc/mods. Everything's been fine for a while, but now my computer is saying that I don't have enough space for the game to update and allow me to play. A little while ago, I turned off OneDrive because it was saying that my files (aka the game + my cc/mods) was taking up too much storage and I would need to buy more. I wasn't interested in paying for more OneDrive storage as I didn't understand why I needed it anyway, so I turned OneDrive off and moved everything off of OneDrive and just onto the computer. Is that why the storage is suddenly full when it's been fine for months? Is this even the right forum to ask this question lol? Are there any other options? Sims is my escape and stress reliever and not being able to play has totally ruined my weekend. Thanks for any help!Unrecognize Video Card
Please someone help. I just installed The Sims 4 on my laptop. I have an iGPU with Radeon 760M and RTX 40 series as a dGPU. Here's the problem: once I start it, the game doesn't recognize the video cards and (maybe) use the iGPU even I used dGPU-only mode, so it causes Throttle Reason Power - Yes up to 48%. I always play with dGPU-only mode, which means iGPU won't be active. But it seems like they don't recognize dGPU very well, so my assumption is it also uses iGPU and triggered Throttle Reason Power. For NVIDIA drivers, I'm sure it's updated around a week ago. Please help me, how do I solve it?
