Free Move Jitter problem

Ive been having this issue in build mode for almost a year, when i try to freely move my objects in sims (ctrl, shift, c) it jitters and i can never place my objects correctly because it jitters/ glitches so much. I can’t include a video in the thread but its really frustrating.  Ive tried almost everything to fix it for ex; resetting my game, taking my mods out (still happened with them allll out),  verified my game’s authenticity, uninstalling and reinstalling my game, re doing my mods folder etc etc. nothing has worked for me.  I was wondering if i could get help.

  • maeecalled  Can you upload the video somewhere else and link it here?  Or maybe it will attach to a reply more easily.

For the issue itself, do you have another mouse you can test with?

yes i have a video linker website

  • maeecalled  Can you try a different mouse?

Separately, what do you have underneath the mouse?  It's possible the problem is the surface it's on, so try something smooth and uniformly dark if you're not already using a mousepad.

If you only have a trackpad, please see whether you can borrow a mouse from someone to test with.

  • maeecalled  All of the settings you can access from within Sims 4 are stored in Options.ini, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.  This file wouldn't get deleted or refreshed when you reinstall the game, so try removing it now if you haven't already.  I thought you might have done so before because you said you reset your game, but I wanted to make sure.

Separately, do you only have a laptop, and if so, does it have a touchscreen or support pen or stylus input?

And rereading your original post, does this only happen when you've enabled a cheat, or does it happen all the time?  You can hold the alt key for free placement without a cheat, so that's a good test.
