Sims (and pets) won't move and are stuck in idle animation
This is a brand new save I started after buying Adventure Awaits. After playing for a few hours, sims and pets get stuck and won't obey any commands. If I activate testingcheats true and reset sim, they just get stuck T-posing. I've already tried popping out to world view and back, as well as going back to main screen and reloading. No dice. The problem persists. I'm playing on PC, no mods.
Buy/Build: Can only manipulate one item
When I want to move or delete an item during game play I have to delete an item go into live mode back to build mode to them delete another item or move something around. Same when I want to delete out of household inventory. When I want to build I have to build a wall, click on a tool or cancel, click wall again to make a new wall and repeat over and over until the build is complete. And when I want to place furniture I have to place item, click a new tool then back to the move object tool again to move it or change it and repeat that process for all items on the lot. [S] Freelancer programmer promotion does not count for New Year's resolution
Issue Description: When a Sim gets a promotion in the Freelancer Programmer career, it does not count toward completing the New Year's resolution to "Get a Promotion." Despite the Sim advancing in their freelance career (earning more per gig and reaching a new career level), the resolution remains incomplete. Expected Behavior: Any form of career advancement — including promotions in traditional careers, part-time jobs, and freelance career level increases — should satisfy the "Get a Promotion" New Year's resolution. The resolution is intended to celebrate career growth regardless of career type. Steps to Reproduce: Install Seasons expansion pack (introduces New Year's resolutions) . Have a Sim join the Freelancer Programmer career via the phone or computer . Wait for a New Year's Eve holiday to occur. Select "Get a Promotion" as one of the Sim's resolutions. Complete sufficient freelance gigs to increase the Sim's freelance career level and earnings. Check the resolution status after the promotion is achieved. Actual Result: The Sim successfully advances in the Freelancer Programmer career. The "Get a Promotion" resolution remains incomplete and the Sim gets a sad moodlet for not completing their resolution. The resolution does not recognize the freelance career progression as a valid promotion. Additional Notes: The Freelancer career functions differently from traditional careers: "As a Freelancer, your Sim won't get promoted in the same way as other careers. Instead, as they get better at their job and gain more skills, they'll earn more money per gig" . Traditional careers require meeting Performance bar requirements and Promotion Tasks to advance through 10 career levels . The resolution system appears to be checking for the traditional promotion event/flag rather than the freelance career progression event. This issue likely affects all Freelancer tracks (Programmer, Artist, Writer, Crafter, Fashion Photographer, Paranormal Investigator) , not just Programmer. Other non-traditional careers (e.g., part-time jobs, Self-Employment) may also be affected. Impact: Players using Freelancer careers cannot complete the "Get a Promotion" New Year's resolution through normal gameplay. This forces players to either: Switch to a traditional career just to complete the resolution, or Abandon the resolution entirely The issue undermines the Seasons resolution system for Sims pursuing freelance work, which is a significant portion of the game's career options.NPCs stuck on residential lot computer, "Ask to Leave" grayed out
Issue Description: When an NPC Sim is using a computer on a residential lot, they become stuck and will not leave. The "Ask to Leave" interaction is grayed out, and the tooltip states that the Sim is "already leaving," but the NPC remains at the computer indefinitely. The only way to remove the NPC is to enter Build Mode and move the computer chair, which forces the NPC to stand up and reset. Expected Behavior: NPCs should finish using the computer within a reasonable time and then leave the residential lot on their own. The "Ask to Leave" interaction should be selectable and functional, allowing the player to dismiss the NPC. The tooltip should not falsely claim the Sim is already leaving when they are not. Steps to Reproduce: Have an NPC visit a residential lot (e.g., invited over or wandered onto the lot). Allow the NPC to autonomously sit at a computer and begin using it. Wait for the NPC to continue using the computer for an extended period. Click on the NPC and attempt to select "Ask to Leave." Observe that the interaction is grayed out. Hover over the grayed-out option to read the tooltip. Attempt the workaround: Enter Build Mode, move the computer chair, then return to Live Mode. Actual Result: The "Ask to Leave" interaction is grayed out and cannot be selected. The tooltip states the Sim is "already leaving," but the NPC remains seated at the computer. The NPC continues using the computer indefinitely and does not leave the lot. The only successful removal method is to enter Build Mode and move the computer chair, which forces the NPC to stand up and reset. Additional Notes: This issue appears to be related to a broader problem where NPCs get stuck in certain interactions and their "leaving" state becomes desynchronized from their actual behavior. The "Ask to Leave" interaction may be incorrectly flagging the NPC as already in the process of exiting when they are still engaged in the computer interaction, creating a deadlock in the NPC's AI routine. Workaround: Enter Build Mode, move the computer chair (or delete and undo the deletion), then return to Live Mode. The NPC will be forced to stand up and may reset their behavior, allowing them to leave. Impact: Disrupts residential gameplay by trapping NPCs on the lot indefinitely. Players cannot dismiss unwanted visitors, and the grayed-out interaction with false tooltip creates confusion. The forced Build Mode workaround is unintuitive and breaks immersion.
Taking Photo Creates Two Pics
When my sim takes a photo (any camera), two photos appear in inventory. If I hang one photo on the wall, then change to a different interface (like O for Needs) and then focus back on the inventory, the 2nd photo has disappeared. If I sell one of the two photos from inventory, then the second one disappears similar to above paragraph. However, if I leave both photos in inventory, it stays as two photos. I haven't left the lot yet to see if it will still be two photos when I return. On Xbox Series X.[RL] Dynasty Prestige not changing
the dynasty prestige is broken or has a bug. when any sim does any activity that is associated with the ideas that should raise level nothing happens the skills are set to match ideas and still nothing happens with prestige level. have tried resetting sims and lots and erased households still no level past one. sims maintain unity in household so that should not affect the prestige in negativity Edit By crinrict: Added Tag to Title, Adjusted TitleHousehold members turning into neighbors/ Can't use doors (1.112.519/2.06)
Product: The Sims 4 Platform :PC Which language are you playing the game in? English How often does the bug occur? Unsure What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs have you installed? I have all Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I have no idea. I do not know what action made it happen. What happens when the bug occurs? My sim is listed as a neighbour in her own house. she was in labour, I tried to have her go in the house to have the baby but the order kept vanishing. I teleported her inside and had the baby, I then tried to click her to make her solve hard problems but nothing happened. That is when I noticed the tag. What do you expect to see? My sim to not be labelled as a neighbour in the house I am playing in and to be able to be clicked on to person "self actions". or can you please add a cheat to remove the neighbour tag. Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used. Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Interactions Getting Stuck in Queue
I'm frequently getting interactions I'm not longer doing getting stuck as the first item in my Sims's queue. It's been happening for a while, and I'm not sure when it started. Cancelling the interaction just causes the interaction to display with an X through it. The only way I can clear the interaction is by resetting the Sims or going to World Management/Travel. Going off Lot for a Career does not remove it.Keyboard stops working while playing Sims 4
The keyboard on my Yoga 7 2-in-1 laptop stops working after ~5-10 minutes of gameplay in The Sims 4. The entire keyboard goes down, not just specific keys. My only solution right now is to close the game, shut the computer down, and restart everything. I have my in-game overlays disabled for both EA and Steam. I have no mods or CC installed. I play in windowed mode. I've deleted the files from my cache folder. I've repaired the game. My computer systems are up to date. I've run virus scans to ensure I'm not harboring any corrupt software. I've tried every recommendation I've seen posted and I still have this issue. What can I do to resolve this? Thank you!
