Fc 26 Player Career Mode problems/solutions
I’m creating this thread as I do not see a future where this game mode is fixed (Player career mode) not manager career mode. I’m fairly sure this mode is hardly tested or at all before release each year. The problems remain the same and this year seem to have gotten worse. To those making creative decisions these are my suggestions, should you ever be inclined to actually make changes. Most importantly, stop forcing us players into not being able to be creative with our play-styles. The whole personality system is absolute garbage, why do I need to be a heartbeat as an attacker to have technical dribbler? Why do I then need to be a virtuoso to have quick first step? Why stop us from having both, why can I not create the character I want to play as? You know, the point of the **bleep** mode. Get rid of the personality system as a whole just have us unlock new play-styles based on level the same way it is in clubs it’s not more immersive it’s just handcuffing us from being the type of player we want to be. This isn’t even touching how this year you’ve removed play style points from training, making attaining 65% in a play style type next to impossible (It is impossible if you play long games like I do). This system has to be removed in FC 27 it’s infuriating. On the point of play-styles stop blocking certain playstyles based on positions, I should be able to have finesse shot as a midfielder or anything for that matter it’s a fantasy player. Archetypes are fine, think they shouldn’t be positions based again as a CAM or LM should be able to have a Ronaldinho archetype after all he played those positions but whatever I’m more concerned with play styles but if you wanna be perfect, then don’t handcuff those to positions either. This year you removed xp from training, no idea why. It’s now far too slow to level up. After playing my first season (No sim) I’m a level 82, but broke multiple records won ballon do’r the following December yet I’m an 82. This looks dumb and ruins immersion, last year was a perfect xp system I don’t know why it was changed. Finally, stop all the major transfers. It’s ridiculous. After one transfer window there’s 4 of the top 30 players in the world going to bizarre clubs (Foden to Newcastle, Raphinha to City) and these both happened before my first season even started. This breaks all immersion as it’s way too many transfers of top players way too often. I’m aware this is wishful thinking but I’m posting this as no one seems to test this mode and it seems the player base leave no feedback so here it is, do what you will with it.871Views5likes3CommentsFeedback, suggestions and my experience of mostly Player Career mode. Switch 2
This is what I've noted so far whilst playing Player career mode for a week. Maybe someone else also have feedback on my points or other issues/functions? Not possible to save your toon (looks/settings) as far as I've seen to be able to pick it up when creating a new career. Also unclear guidance when starting your career risking a bad start forcing you to create a completely new one, sitting again trying to perfect the looks of your pro for several hours.. Hard to inspect other teams and players (like in Fifa 23 legacy for example). While it is possible to enter different teams to see their players, it's not possible to check the players themselves. No stats, info and so on. Hard to follow your national teams competitions and too few national updates. As I see it, as a player, your goal is a good club AND your national team. More focus should be on you being able to follow the different national teams, competitions, squads/selections and such. Perhaps even possibility to watch the games and/or highlights. It's also hard to keep track on players coming and leaving your club. In squad hub, you can see teammates stats and such, but not their contract length? Would be nice to be able to plan your own future in the club better. Difficult to get a good overview of different news. News are just flashing past disappearing among the rest. Transfer romours and news should be separate from the rest. Contracts is boring. The meaningless path objectives to get a contract? Requirements for goals outside of area and such? Pointless. And what's even the point with pre match training? No good explanation what it's good for and how to optimize it. Does it even help your pro other than taking a spot in the first team way too easily? Two trainings then you're a regular starter in the national team regardless of your match performance as an example? Troublesome to track your position changes during match (controlling only my player). No fast way to see the current lineup/positions to check what position, position on the field and role you're currenly assigned to. It is present when pausing and entering performance but that shouldn't be necessary. Why not highlight your assigned position on the radar or something? Replay is bugged and get stuck on centerfield now and then. No replays if subs are made directly after goal. Too few replays during game and replays should also highlight the setup play leading to the chance/goal. Also no replays automatically in half time or after the game. Too few camera options in instant replay mode. Why not first person? Much too hard on standard settings in world class compared to the much too easy professional when controlling your pro only. Changing sliders will make it possible to play even on legendary when controlling your pro. Much much harder on all difficulties (using realistic sliders) when controlling whole team instead of only my pro. It's almost impossible to gain possession of the ball on harder difficulties. It feels almost necessary to have legacy defending when controlling your pro only in order to tell your teammates to push at the right time to avoid being forced to run all over the pitch yourselft to clean up the opposition attacks. What's even up with the investments? Utterly useless timewaster.. I think that the archetypes/personality restricts your freedom to be the player you want. Not possible to change when created if I want to evolve into another player type/style. And why do I need to be an egotistical **bleep** to get Maverick points? It feels really weird to be that person and still be generally liked by your teammates and manager.. Also not possible to select or learn multiple positions (eg AM/FW, RWB/RAM) and such. Not possible to request new position to manager either. No possibility to recommend signings to the club/manager to be able to try signing players you'd like to play with. Difficult to find different options in the menus. Feels like many options are "hidden" or different depending on where you view them. No power bar above player when controlling my pro making it really hard to quickly see the shot/pass power without having to look down to the right (especially on big screens). No achievements? Career/season/club? Do you even have any season goals/objectives as a player? Never found them. What's with the unrealistic match objectives? Score 2 goals outside of penalty area and so on? Missing match objectives is really bad for you even if you get a rating of 10? AI is really stupid at times. Especially the centerbacks who push in exactly the most inappropriate situations leaving the centre wide open. Weird function on legacy defending when pressing B. Not much assistance at all making you miss a lot of interceptions/tackles. When pressing A to make other player push with legacy defending they often run to the wrong side of the player leaving the way forward open. Way too many handballs. The radar fades out at times and can be covered by banners or other boxes/texts making it really hard to take a good position when you are out of screen with your pro. Radar should also have different sizes and opacity options. No good lineup overview of opponent team directly before match start. Would be nice to see the players and subs you're going to play against before starting the match. The target lines from practice mode (the ones showing expected target zone for passes) should be available during player career in trainer menu. Player name AND number should be an option above the players. Players with the same nationality should be seen talking to eachother after games when they have met eachother in a fixture for more realism and familiarity between nationals. A lot of missing tutorials and control options (or maybe only hard to locate?). Ie when pressing - on the control and the game starts following the player instead of the ball when controlling your pro. There's no easy way to find that out on your own. No clear info on how to best earn AP to improve your player.16Views1like0CommentsEA’s neglect of LaLiga, and authenticity in FIFA
Once upon a time, a La Liga career mode felt authentic, and exciting. EA’s complete neglect of the league has taken away that feeling. We once had the Nou Camp in FIFA, I appreciate it’s been going under development. But when was the last time Barca had their licensed stadium in the game. Also, Celta Vigo, UD Levante and several other clubs in LaLiga and LaLiga Hypermotion have undergone development, and this has been complete for several years. Yet EA are far too lazy to update any stadiums and keep on top of authenticity for career mode players. No new chants have been added for La Liga teams in god knows how long. Malaga and Deportivo La Coruna returned to the game last year, and once upon a time EA had this stadiums scanned and licensed. So why not add them back?! I’ve been a FIFA/FC player for at least 15 years. But I’m bored, I’m fed up, and I’m done. I’m done with EAs laziness and lack of care to the franchise and non UT players. I’m done with the constant amount of bugs, and messing up of gameplay every year. I’m done with the strip back of features such as add your own chants, face scans, and more career mode authenticity features such as sponsors or request funds, the lack of clothing items for managers. A competitor cannot come soon enough, and to be honest I cannot wait for the reality check to hit EA.19Views0likes1CommentGameplay Issues in FUT Champs – AI Defensive Control & Negative Match Outcomes
I am writing to formally report persistent gameplay issues I have been experiencing in FUT Champions. These issues have significantly impacted my ability to compete fairly and consistently. During matches, my defenders frequently move out of position due to apparent AI control, even when I am not manually switching or controlling the defensive line. This behavior creates open spaces that allow opposing attackers to score with little resistance, placing me at a clear disadvantage. Additionally, while attacking, I consistently experience an unusually high number of shots hitting the goalpost across multiple matches. This occurs regardless of shot type, timing, or player attributes, and does not reflect expected gameplay outcomes. Due to the consistency and frequency of these issues, it feels as though negative gameplay scripting is affecting my account specifically, resulting in unfair match results and limiting my ability to achieve expected wins in FUT Champs.10Views0likes0CommentsNewer FC visuals look overly processed and less photorealistic than older titles
The overall presentation has started to look over-processed, cartoony, and less photorealistic compared to older entries (roughly FIFA 15–21). Some issues: Overly aggressive lighting and shadows Excessive bloom and contrast Shadows appear over-exaggerated and too harsh Pitches look unnaturally bright and saturated Player models and faces Skin shaders often look waxy or plastic Facial details feel smoothed out instead of natural High-quality face scans seem over-corrected by post-processing Players often look more like animated/cartoon characters rather than realistic footballers, especially due to lighting, shaders, and smoothing Color grading Kits, grass, and environments look overly vibrant Less of the muted, broadcast-style look older FIFAs had Feels more stylized than realistic Loss of “TV broadcast” realism Older FIFAs felt closer to real match footage Newer games prioritize clarity and spectacle over natural presentation In addition, HyperMotion appears to have done more harm than good visually and in terms of realism. While the increased animation data was meant to improve authenticity, the sheer number of animations often results in players moving in an uncanny or unnatural manner. Transitions between animations can feel overly complex, delayed, or disconnected, making player movement look less human and more animated. Older titles, despite having fewer animations, often felt more grounded and believable because movements were simpler, clearer, and more cohesive. FC 26 vs FIFA 21 next gen. Fifa 21 obviously looks more natural and realistic.19Views0likes0CommentsIt's all predetermined
Playing on Legendary. I got into a channel with a through ball with a player with 89 speed and 85 acceleration and had a 5 yard lead heading to goal. I was run down and tackled by a player with 68 speed and 55 acceleration. Why even have attributes? Why even try to play good football? You guys have it all predetermined. That was followed by a full back with 70 acceleration and 67 speed dribbling down the sideline so fast that I had to sprint with the same player to catch him, when he was caught he shielded, did a spin move, and somehow kept the ball from a player in jockey with 90 standing tackle and 90 defensive positioning, 90 strength, and 90 aggression. The fullback had agility 66, balance 73, reactions 72, ball control 74, dribbling 74, composure 66, strength 69. Why even have attributes? Why try to get into good defensive positions? You guys have it all predetermined. And how is it that we don't have better options in defending than your poorly tuned sprint button? It's like you have to sprint to catch any dribbler and then your agility crashes (again why even have attributes), but also you need something in between sprint for this. Again, so many of your best players don't even manual defend because you have terrible mechanics for it; well that and if you manually defend you seem to bring in the predestination engine. This stuff really sucks. It takes all the fun out of reading the game and trying to be where you are supposed to be. The game is just arbitrary. You might get a tackle or you might not; it's not about good positioning or player attributes. It's whether the small PC brain in there decides that you get this one. And you can't drop down to World Class; it's a joke. I can get 15 tackles a game and score 10 goals. How is there not a level that is not a predetermined Calvinist hellscape or a cake walk? Not that any level should feel as arbitrary as legendary or ultimate do. You have had essentially this same engine for years! It feels like you don't understand it yourselves. People just want a game that feels like it rewards good play and time invested in building players and teams. You guys don't have that game and that is stunning given how long you have had with the same engine. And pressing is absurdly overpowered. Their defensive positioning is far too boosted. They never get tired even though they sprint at you the whole game.35Views0likes0CommentsNot that you guys ever fix anything, but...
I am one of those folks that likes playing career mode and the swings in game play between games are making the game unplayable. I play on legendary and with "authentic." The game play is anything, but authentic. I just finished playing Liverpool in the Champions League Semis, and honestly it was largely enjoyable. The PC is currently horrid at moving the ball forward and breaking lines and that can lead to long stretches of truly pointless possession where you absolutely feel like you are playing a dumb machine, but the attacking was challenging and when the PC did attempt break throughs you could get in and make some tackles, and the PC did score and make it a game. Now I am playing Torino in a truly meaningless Serie A game and these have a habit of being the worst matches in your half baked game. My defensive line is suddenly WAY too deep (you can't fix this with sliders that are supposed to fix it; great job!) and I absolutely can't get near anyone to make a tackle. If I let the PC, let's be honest and not call it AI, control my player and take on the attacker then they will inevitably do something dumb like dribble right into them, but if it's my player then they turn into Ronaldinho and no matter where they are rated at dribbling they are suddenly moving like a waterbug. Sometimes they seem to wait until my player is just close enough to make the pass; not weird or gimmicky at all. The defensive line is massively deep so you have a hugely unrealistic amount ground to cover. My question is why do this? Torino isn't good. Why have the gameplay fluctuate like this, ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE IT SET, IN THEORY, NOT TO FLUCTUATE? It sucks! It makes your half baked game even less fun because this is just a game you want to be over with. It's not suddenly interesting or CHALLENGING. It feels gimmicky and like the outcomes are predetermined; which is not fun at all. I am marking and getting on the ball just as well as I was versus Liverpool or Man City. I am not thinking "Wow it's so cool how suddenly it's impossible to get tackles and I have to watch this endless pointless passing versus a mid-block." You guys need to clean this up. It really sucks. I actually think you guys need to put more of the game into sliders and into settings. You guys constantly screw things up to add on errors to the errors you have had for years and have never fixed. At least give players the ability to tamp down or turn off the EA dumb (I am sure somebody thought this was a good idea at some point). And while you are adding in sliders put one in for shielding. It is absurdly overpowered. I shouldn't have to watch a sub 5'9" 150 lb winger acting like Frank the Tank out there throwing huge shoulders around. It's not cool or "challenging" it is just gimmicky and dumb.36Views0likes1Comment
