Madden 26 Companion App Release Date
Hello, When is the expected release date for the companion app for Madden 26? Last year, it was nearly a month after the Madden release. I am a third-party developer that relies on the companion app. Knowing the release ahead of time would help me schedule around the release date to work on my application. So me and my buddy were just playing a game in 2v2 ultimate team. We came back from 17-7. We went into OT after kicking a field goal at the of the 4th to tie the game up… we go into overtime, score a touchdown and the other team had about a minute left.. IN OVERTIME.. anyways. These guys make it down the field to our 3 yard line. but the clock ran out in over time.. 0 seconds.. but it gave them ANOTHER OVERTIME PERIOD. And they scored a touchdown, then went for 8… do I just not know the rules or after the first overtime period.. if we’re winning and the time runs out. IS THE GAME NOT OVER??? LIKE WTF?!?! That was our superbowl game too. And in the 2nd overtime period. They started at our 3 yard line too bc that’s where they ended off after the first overtime period, WHEN WE WERE ALREADY UP BY 7 AT THE END..MADDEN 26-27 IMPROVEMENT IDEAS
This is a thread I wanted to start so everyone on here can have their ideas seen and heard by EA_Shepard and other EA Staff while also having a single, organized place to share them. This in turn makes it easier to read and organize these thoughts in order to pass on to dev teams. Please be respectful and feel free to put down anything you would want to see in a coming update or in newer games to come. I'll start by adding these ideas: Downloadable Rosters & Draft Classes from past years for nostalgic Franchises. Customizable Divisions and Schedules like what is found in CFB (Great for Fantasy). Reincluding the option of Coaching Legends for Coach Mode (Also Great for Fantasy). Possibly reinclude custom facial uploads for custom coaches in Coach Mode. Revamped and reincluded Player/Owner Modes. - Ultimately to summarize this: For Owner Mode, I'd like to see Team Builder tied more exclusively to a new version of this where customization of everything from the ground up is key for the most customizable experience ever. For Player Mode, I'd like what little works well within Superstar to be tied to a new, revamped Player Mode, where the storylines and cutscenes are more included here, and less in other modes. This would include being able to choose an existing player within a franchise, and focus exclusively on their career; OR, create a new player and start as you would within Superstar. I'd like to see Team Builder weaved into relocation for all online modes and somehow introduced into offline. Inclusion of holding the L2/LT to Switch Stick to minimize switching by accident, especially while trying to pass rush. Include more cities and teams for Relocation. Cities where franchises already exist like Miami, LA, or Detroit, as well as new ones like Boston, Phoenix, or Birmingham. More Stadium options for Relocation. Reinclude Build a Stadium within Team Builder. I'm talking from scratch...not just editing the field. Reinclude the ability to edit and create more custom uniform combinations. Within the Edit Rosters section of the Creation Center, more flexibility to edit a player's contract, abilities, etc, would be nice. Better Training Camp - Introduce some ability to gain physical STR, SPD, AGI, COD, by introducing some of the game found in Superstar like the 3Cone, Weightlifting, 40YD, etc. - This is where mini-games shine. Make games open for more players to train and have them more focused on gaining skill points and less on XP and Rookie Reps. This is a great way to help maintain the physical ability of Vets, or take your high-level Superstars to the next level. Revamp Weekly Training - Make this less focused on mini-games and tie it more to Practice Mode and gaining XP/Rookie Reps. The way the have Wear & Tear worked into this is nice; Now just optimize it. Optimize Coach Central and Coaching Abilities. - It's a bit to type but my thoughts on this can be found in my "M26 Franchise Feedback thread" thread. I feel that's a pretty good start for now. This years Madden has completely revolutionized the way that you have to attack and approach the game! From the route combos on offense to the defensive adjustments , you have to have a thorough knowledge of switch stick in order to play at a high level. The Ravens are sitting at a 92 OVR in Madden 26 — the so-called “#1 team” — while my Eagles, the reigning Super Bowl champions, are a 91 OVR. You’re seriously telling me a team that chokes playoff games, blows double-digit leads, and literally collapsed 34-19 to the Bills in Week 1 last season deserves to be ranked higher than the champs? This isn’t just disrespect — it’s embarrassing. Even in gameplay, the Ravens get exposed. I’ve seen them get lit up by mid-tier teams like the Colts dropping 60+ points. That’s not a #1 overall team. That’s smoke and mirrors. The Eagles went out and proved it on the field. We brought the Lombardi back to Philly. We finished the job. And yet you’ve got Baltimore, the kings of choking, sitting above us in Madden 26? Enough is enough. Stop disrespecting the champs and fix the ratings. Blocking is non-existent. Most run plays are stopped at the line of scrimmage. Pass-blocking breaks down near instantly against no-name 75 rated npc defenders halfway through your drop-back. You also cant rollout unless you have superstar OTs, otherwise you're getting hit immediately, It actually feels harder to generate pressure user controlling pass-rushers. 50/50 balls almost always go to the WR...5 inch height difference / CB in perfect position? Mossed. Defenders right next to or trailing the receiver (sometimes in double coverage) just straight up ignore the WR who makes a leaping catch that would never happen in real life while the defenders stare off into space. User control is clunky on defense, a slight angle change and youre missing the ball carrier in space by a mile. Hitsticks barely works. Diving tackles are a complete mess. Jukes and spin moves work every time in the open field. Truck stick doesn't do a thing. Ratings skew way too heavily in favor of the top teams and star players dominate to the extreme. This leads to way too many 3-outs. 1st down...instant TFL. 2nd down...short pass for 3 yards. 3rd and long...sack, rinse and repeat. The game is too predictable, and beyond frustrating, to the point where you know if youre going to win or lose after 1 drive. Irritating as anything when you feel like you have no control over who wins / loses, its up to the system. Coach suggestions are abysmal, the same plays will get recommended over and over, in the same order, for similar situations. All these new plays and you cant ever see them. As someone who doesnt like flipping through hundreds of plays, this feature allowed me to pick from a few, but they varied each time. Many of plays I call dont even have stats show up (yards per play,, # of times called, etc.) so I cant even tell which plays I like / dislike. Each game used to have different orders and calls, and would cycle through hundreds of plays. Now, I know what plays will appear, in what order, for what situation. And speaking of play-calling, so many plays are broken. i.e. unstoppable or un-usable...no in-between I can honestly say that this is the worst madden game I've ever played. It feels unfinished. The jarring, animation-heavy / physics defying nonsense literally ruins the entire experience. The majority of the time I feel as though I'm treading water against an engine doing everything it can to make me lose. Sad really, since the game has the basic structure to be a really good one. Until they fix the sliders for 1v1 player situations and the coach/playbook bug, its nearly impossible to enjoy playing.
