EA missed out.
Hello and thank you for clicking on this, I'm hoping most of you will agree with me and support me on this forum. EA badly missed out on what could have been one of the most successful and community-driven Star Wars games of all time. Battlefront II (2017) had everything it needed to thrive—an iconic franchise, stunning visuals, and a passionate player base—but support was cut just as the game hit its stride. Instead of riding the wave of popularity with new content updates, live-service improvements, or even simple bug fixes, EA stepped away. They missed the perfect window to add fan-favorite content like Clone Wars expansions, The Mandolorian tie-ins, or long-requested heroes like Ahsoka, Ventress, and Starkiller. What could have been a goldmine of engagement and revenue turned into a missed opportunity. Thankfully, the Kyber modding community stepped in and did what EA wouldn’t. With custom servers, modded game modes, and an endless stream of new content, Kyber has kept BF2 alive and more exciting than ever. Players can now experience completely fresh game types like Order 66, Hero Blast, and era-mixed battles, all while exploring maps and characters that never made it into the official game. The creativity, balance tweaks, and sheer passion from modders has turned BF2 into a true Star Wars sandbox—one that still pulls in players years after support ended. EA had a chance to fuel this momentum with even the smallest bit of modding support or updates. Instead, the fans took control—and ended up making something even better. In the end, EA didn’t just walk away from a great game—they walked away from a thriving community and years of untapped potential. The modding scene has proven that there’s still massive love for Battlefront II, and that players are more than willing to carry the torch when given the tools. But imagine if those tools came from official support—how much further could the game have gone? Kyber showed what was possible. EA just didn’t stick around long enough to see it. Imagine what it would be like if EA didn't give up. Thank you for taking your time to read this.76Views4likes1CommentHackers have taken over. RIP BFII
That's it, BFII was one of the few games that I kept playing daily, after all these years, simply because the Heroes VS Villains multiplayer was fun. Now it's all about cheating. Why are the servers still up if this nonsense happens in every single match, on both PC and console?242Views3likes7CommentsNeed serious help, can't play online. Error Code 1017
Hey y'all, I decided to re-download Battlefront 2 as my friend is now getting into it for the first time. As an old vet I found a new reason to hop back on. However, despite my 4G unlimited internet connection whenever I click quick play for all modes, I always get hit with error code 1017! I am so frustrated and just wanna have fun with the game before my ps+ runs out. If any further information is needed I'll respond but for now, I am in Oceania aus servers and my platform is a PS5. Also no further evidence suggests that the game is "dead" in my region, as recent captures from other players reach up to the thousand view range. Any help is much appreciated!13Views0likes1CommentUI Bug: Single Player: Instant Action: Factions inverted on Kessel Location

Hi. I'm a returning Battlefront 2 player who was really active on it during its early years from around 2018 to 2020. I wanted to come back to see if the game was still alive, Star Wars hype alive and all that, and I realized that the game had both reset my progress and left it intact. I have about 500 hours logged in total according to Playstation, with a bit of PC progress, but that's a total graveyard. Troopers and heroes kept their high level, however all of their star cards were locked. When I played as a hero or trooper in game, it reset them back to level 1. Attached is an example showcased with my Darth Vader, who was level 32, yet had no unlockables. It is like this for every other character. Restarting the game showed that all of the cards were actually unlocked at level 1 and equippable, but I neither had skill points to spend or the option to upgrade them at all. This went away when loading into a match. I could not get this to show up again. I don't know if this is an error on my end, the game, or whatever. I'm fine with playing through it again, but I'm unaware as to how healthy the game is on Playstation when it comes to player counts and unsure if that's an investment I wanna put in.
