feedback/feature requests
(played on PC and PS5) Sorry in advance for how long this is; I’ve apparently got lots of thoughts, haha. And I don’t know how to be concise… I’ve tried to at least somewhat organize them, though? On Cosmetics I’d like to be able to select/preview the items in product boxes. I know you can “view box content,” but that only gives a small image of each item rather than being able to actually preview them the way you can with items from the rest of the shop and the zines. This is especially frustrating when it comes to stickers and profile pictures. Maybe this is just me, but sometimes I find it difficult to tell whether something is a sticker or a profile picture (usually it’s fairly clear, but not always). Even without that specific issue, though, it would just be really nice to be able to preview product box items the same way as other items instead of just getting a teeny little preview picture. On a somewhat similar note, I feel you should be able to zoom in/out when viewing cosmetics (in the shop, zines, your own inventory, or anywhere else). I’ve seen several cosmetics (most especially––but not solely––intricate board art) where it’s been difficult to tell what it really looks like since I can’t zoom in to get a better look at the details. As for zooming out, that would be super helpful when you’re changing cosmetics in your inventory. Currently, the only way I can see how a certain cosmetic item looks with my character/outfit as a whole is to either switch to the “outfit” tab (which, of course, isn’t an option if I’m changing my headwear, eyewear, or socks) or to exit the “closet” (if you will) entirely. Either way is frustrating. They both add unnecessary extra steps to the process, and they both make me lose my place in looking through my items––which will only become an increasingly more frustrating problem as the game goes on and I acquire more inventory. Speaking of an ever-increasing inventory, I wish there was a way to favorite and/or (but preferably “and”) archive items. I enjoy the product boxes, but sometimes they give me items I’m literally never going to use. That’s not necessarily a bad thing; everyone has different tastes, and I’m sure there are plenty of people who like the items I don’t, just as I’m sure there are plenty of people who hate the items I love. But I also don’t really want items that I’m never, ever going to use to be clogging up my inventory as I’m trying to search through for the ones I do like. And then even if I do like everything in my inventory, there will always be some that I gravitate towards and want to use more frequently than others. Being able to favorite them so I can find them more quickly would make life so much easier. I’d also love it if you could save certain outfits and/or boards. I, like many others I’m sure, like to change my outfits to match my mood (or just to keep things fresh), but I’ve also got certain combinations I frequently like to go back to. Being able to quickly re-equip looks I like I like instead of having to go back into each tab to change each individual item every time I want to switch it up would just make things so much easier. I wish I could change the fit of certain shirts––t-shirts at least, although all tops would honestly be stupendous––to be tighter/looser based on preference. Currently, I feel like most of the tops are very much on the loose-fitting side, especially if one’s character has a feminine body-type. With the exception of a couple baby tees (and the sports bras I guess? not sure that I’d really count those, personally, but I suppose they do ~technically~ count…) there aren’t really any form-fitting tops for feminine bodies. There are a couple tops that are labeled as “tight,” and while those do appear to be more form-fitting on masculine bodies, they’re still fairly loose on feminine ones. I know changing the fit of shirts was an option in earlier skate games, as well as being able to do things like choose if the shirt was tucked in or out, buttoned or unbuttoned, etc., and all of those options being brought back would be so cool. I wish visual board damage would be brought back, too. It’s neat to see scuffs and wear and tear as you use your board, you know? Maybe it could be something that could be turned on/off, so if you didn’t want your board to look all scuffed up it didn’t have to, but it could if you did want. On Game Features Well, I might as well continue with my “things I wish were brought back from older games” spiel as I move on from cosmetic things I guess. With that in mind…. *chanting* HALL OF MEAT! HALL OF MEAT! HALL OF MEAT! Also, I would genuinely pay money to be able to hear Coach Frank instead of Vee. I don’t even need to see him. If Coach Frank’s consciousness has been transferred to a little robot friend, so be it. But please, on bended knee I beg of thee, give me Coach Frank T^T Music. Older skate games had such killer music, and maybe I’m just old and The Youth™ are all about the songs that are included in this new one, but I am….really not. I’d SO love it if a lot of the music from the older games could be brought back in this one! If not, though, at the very least ~please~ add in an option to dislike songs and stop them from playing. Sure, I can favorite songs and then play the playlist of my favorited songs, but…how am I supposed to find more/new songs to favorite if I’m only playing my playlist of favorites? But I don’t want to ~not~ play my playlist of favorites, because there are so many songs that just ~really~ bug me, and they’re the ones that seem to play the absolute most. I would kill for a way to silence them forever… I wish there was a way to join parties/recruit party members for specific challenges. For example, I frequently find myself wishing I could join parties or recruit party members who specifically want to do the Own the Lot challenges, but there’s not really any way of doing that (aside from having Real Friends, which is presumptuous :P). So yeah, if there was a way to recruit/be recruited by people looking to party up for specific challenges, that’d be wicked cool. Sorry again for how long this is, and I don’t know if this will actually be seen by any devs, but yeah. Figured why not give it a shot, y’know? Thanks for reading if you did, especially if you have The Power™ to make these changes (and eSPECially if you actually ~make~ any of them!). Genuinely, though, I’m having such a fun time with this game. Thanks so much for your hard work!Cosmetic Suggestion: Seasonal Rewards "Title, Emblem, Banner"
TL;DR: This is another idea and fan art concept I worked on for my portfolio. A fun, low-effort seasonal bonus, where players who finish a season pass earn a small exclusive set; a Title, Banner, and Emblem. These are subtle "flex" items tied to that season. The rewards are purely cosmetic and add to the current progression rewards. Description: This is not meant to replace or take away from any existing cosmetic rewards. The idea is a simple, low-effort seasonal bonus that sits alongside the current season pass. When a player finishes a season, they receive a small exclusive set consisting of a Title, Banner, and Emblem tied to that season’s theme. (Many alternative systems could work.) These items are purely cosmetic flair. They act as subtle flex items for people who completed that season and want to showcase their participation. Over time, they become little legacy collectibles that show “I was here for this season”. They are intentionally lightweight. No new gameplay systems, no new progression logic, no replacement of existing rewards. Just a fun extra layer that season pass owners would appreciate. I originally planned to just create a couple seasonal concepts based around this idea, but I had some fun making some extra Titles & Emblems. Since the game is currently on Season 2, this could work either as a future bonus concept or as a backdated reward for early players. See "Legacy Pass" below. Why It Works: Uses existing systems Skate. already supports Banners, Titles, and Pics. This requires no new UI category or mechanic, just reward hooks. Harmless flex No gameplay impact, no balance concerns, no economy pressure. Clear "prestige" signal Anyone seeing the card instantly knows the player finished that season’s pass and showed support to the game. Encourages pass completion naturally The reward feels meaningful without needing to compromise other aspects of the game. Seasonal Identity: Each reward could share consistent visual language to each season's theme: Labelled Seasons or Evolving Banners (Similar to the Graffiti Banner's) A themed title like “Scene Zine” & “Future Radical” or "Season 1" & "Season 2" Clean and fun emblems, that read well at small sizes. Themed and matching emblems are a plus. Optional: Legacy Pass: If a player has already completed Season 1 and Season 2, they automatically receive the corresponding sets. This avoids punishing early adopters and reinforces trust with the community. Eligible player's can additionally earn them through tasks maintaining a feel of progression. Seasonal Deck: People may not like to hear it, but similar to Fortnite, a Seasonal Deck earned on full pass completion would be the perfect parallel to Fortnite’s victory umbrella. One deck per season Never reissued The combination of Player Card set plus Deck, would provide a strong seasonal loop without over-monetizing it. Notes: Skate. is currently missing a clear “I was there and I finished it” marker. We have the items in the battle pass, but small nuance items can fill a gap cleanly and affordably from a development standpoint. Example: The attached mock-ups show how seasonal Titles, Banners, and Emblems would appear inside the Rip Card UI, along with a few extra concepts. I'd love to hear any feedback or what rewards everyone would like to see as the game progresses. Have a good week everyone 🙂Where's the big vert ramps?
There's nothing like these in the game, just one big half pipe. I enjoy vert a lot but the lack of big ramps like this hampers things. And building one isn't easy at the moment. I wanna see some of those 14ft-16ft+ vert ramps, not bound to a super jump or something but just on it's own. Surely some rooftop can be dedicated to one of these.Issue with Pre-Wind Input Triggering Unintended Stalls in Pools
Hello EA skate developers, I am Japanese and not very good at English, so I am using ChatGPT to help write this. I apologize if anything is unclear. I have been playing skate since the original game, and I mainly enjoy skating pools, bowls, and ramps. Since the introduction of Pre-Wind, spinning no longer works the same way as in previous titles. Because of this, when I try to perform spins of 540 degrees or more in pools using Pre-Wind, the game often triggers an unintended stall/grind on the coping instead. This happens even when I have enough speed. The skater suddenly snaps into a stall and stops unnaturally, which feels unrealistic and very frustrating during gameplay. I actually like the Pre-Wind mechanic now, but the overlap between the Pre-Wind input and the stall/grind input causes this problem very frequently. Would it be possible to address this issue? For example, by separating the stall/grind input to another button or adjusting the input detection so Pre-Wind spins do not unintentionally trigger stalls in pools and bowls. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you will consider improving this behavior. Best regards,General feedback
Really struggling to find right camera angle compared to original skate games Sound design very good!🙏🏻😎🤟 Just a suggestion, there is a place in Malaysia with lots of investment properties that failed due to Covid, it could be a great place to do a live action advert for the game as I'm sure its full of great skate spots, the architecture is similar 🤙🤟 https://youtu.be/Y6ZGkjdFAZs?si=kRarJNBSYBM7A_UW Microtransactions are a 😢 you should be able to earn gear in game from tricks Ai definitely childish, maybe think about offering a more mature narrative for mature skatersCosmetic Suggestion: Holiday Concepts
TL;DR: As the Christmas season wraps up, I wanted to share a few more holiday concepts that I created earlier in the month. These are all simple concepts that I would've loved to see this year. That said, there's always next year & more than anything I'm just genuinely happy to have a 'Skate' game in 2025. Boring Stuff: The deck is something I've been working on for my portfolio, but the "Candy Cane" textures were quick throwaways I shared in the Skate. Discord back in early November alongside the #skatetshirtcontest. All of these concepts are intentionally very simple and straight forward. They're simple retextures that I felt would fit naturally within the cosmetic direction we already see in-game. I know a lot of people were hoping for things like a "Santa Hat" or "Black and White Socks", but as someone who creates game content, I also understand planning, order of importance & available resources can shape what makes it and when. I'm also mindful that comparisons or concepts can impact expectations, which is why I'm sharing these post-event. My concepts are never meant as a complaint or a call-out. I'm just looking to contribute however I can and share ideas I think the community would be happy to see implemented. Programs Used: Photoshop Would love to hear any feedback or what items everyone was hoping to see this Christmas. Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays 🎄Option to look around while on board (to see other players behind one)!
When riding with others, i always miss the function to look around me, if someone is left behind or something. It is hard to stay oriented or know where the others are if you are locked into one camera position while on board. I imagine pushing and holding the right stick and then having the left stick to look around in 360°. This would utilize muscle memory and lock the flick mechanic logicly and having the left body movement stick utilized. My top frustrations/complaints/suggestions for skate.
idk if any dev is actually going to bother reading all this, but if so then thanks and sorry for it being so much. I tried to order each list from most to least important for each category (in my opinion, of course) (EDIT: Added categories and moved everything I listed later in the comments up to Dec. 11th into the OP instead) I'm going to first start with my #1 complaint that I didn't know which category to put it under, so instead I'll just leave it under no category at the top: The game is online-only and there's no way to play offline or preferably host a P2P/LAN server. I don't like spending money on online-only games knowing that inevitably one day they'll be shut down. Please plan for the future and make sure all the work you guys have put into this game will be preserved. Visuals: Because the game uses Lumen lighting, a lot of the dynamic lighting is very splotchy and looks poor. Even more annoying is the ghosting around any moving object/character when Lumen lighting is behind said object/character. A great example of this is if you go to the stage in Hedgemont where all the TV screens are and run around against those screens, you'll immediately see major ghosting all around your character. It'd be a nice detail if the bottom of our skateboards got scratched up when used enough, like in other games such as Session. I think even a few of the THPS' had this. Also include an option to reset the board damage, or disable the feature entirely since I'm sure some people out there will complain otherwise. I'd like to see more of the lighter bail animations where you don't completely fall to the ground but instead stumble off your board and barely regain composure. There were a lot of really good ones in skate 3, while so far I think there's only two or maybe three in the new game? Audio/Music Player: Disabling the "Vee's comments" audio setting doesn't affect her repetitive dialogue at the start/end of every challenge. Please Vee, I know what a "pig challenge" is already! The only current workaround is to turn VO volume all the way to zero, but then I can't hear my own character, nor Shingo, Slappy, and Lizzy, who I like the voices of. Please let us disable how the music player automatically starts playing a song every time you begin a challenge. I like the in-world music, I don't want to get blasted by a song for 45 seconds until the challenge ends and it cuts off. Currently I have to open up the music player and pause it every time I start a challenge, which sucks. I'd like a way to block/dislike songs so they stop playing in the open world and during challenges. Alternatively only play songs that I've favorited. There are certain songs I hate hearing so much, please! Could we get a "skip" button on the music player to skip forward to the next song? Settings: There's no gameplay assist setting to disable/tone down the vert magnitization. I'll often be trying to grind a rail or just ollie over something but instead magnetize to some far away ramp and my whole character goes sideways. Please add DLAA. This would also help with the Lumen ghosting issue I mentioned under Visuals. Please add a graphic setting to disable the chromatic aberration effect. The "low camera" setting isn't quite accurate to the original skate's low camera view. I want it to be a bit lower and closer to the board. Please either replicate that camera view from the original, or just let me manually adjust the camera position and angle in settings? UI: The map could really use some icon filters so we can hide/view specific mission types, or hide them all so we can just see fast travel locations and other players. Please let me hide the "2/4 players in party" HUD element that's always on the right side of my screen. It's very unnecessary imo, why would I need to constantly see that? It's one of the only HUD elements I currently can't remove, and I want as little HUD as possible in skate. When a party member is in the pause menu or using the replay feature their little triangle icon above them should change to either a paused icon or camcorder to represent either of those, that way you know they're busy and don't try to start a challenge while they're in there (which annoyingly just starts it by yourself). I can understand why the social menu was moved to its own tab with the S2 update, but it feels weird that its the only tab that uses RT/LT to navigate. I think the social menu being under the main home menu tab previously was perfectly fine, and easier to access. Object Dropper: The object dropper only allowing a measly FIVE objects is so limiting, you can't do much with that. Please increase it quite a bit so we can create cool stuff! Please let us save the objects we've placed so they load back into the map the next time we launch the game. This would be so cool with a drastically increased limit as well. I'd love to build cool skate spots and shortcuts all over the whole map. Before Season 2 we could remove objects holding others up and it'd let them float. This was necessary for some builds because of the limit of only 5 objects. After the S2 update if you delete the object that's holding something up, the entire thing just disappears instantly with no way to revert. Please either let objects float once more, or, better yet, just increase the object dropper limit! Then I can afford to leave objects holding others up for "structural support." Controls/Tricks: Bailing is so finicky in this game, it feels like the detection for it is a bit broken. I very often get thrown off a grind for seemingly no reason. Bring back grind grabs (grabbing the board while in a grind). Similarly, bring back the ability to grab the board while powersliding! Currently 360 hardflips and inward flips are the only ones we can't hold. Are those planned to be added in the future? Does the setting to enable sideways ollies not currently work? My friend and I can't figure out how you're supposed to do them once you've enabled it. I expected them to work the same way directional pops do in Session (example of that here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-e1e0bdugg). Map/World: Add some interiors! The lack of any indoor locations (except the S2 tunnel) is disappointing. For example, I'd absolutely love if there was an indoor mall to skate around. I hope suburban areas are planned for a future map expansion. Those have always been my favorite areas in the series, the first game especially had a phenomenal suburban area with plenty of nice spots to find all around the neighborhoods and alleyways. Missions: When doing a line challenge if you complete an attempt but only finish half of the goals it'll cross them out even though you need to do the whole thing in one attempt. After it crosses a goal out you can no longer tell your current progress on that goal in your next attempt. Already completed goals should still count toward daily/weekly/seasonal tasks so we can replay completed missions instead of having to rely entirely on the daily rotations that get old very fast. There are so many missions that should be getting reused for the daily challenge rotations to add more variety. Currently there's only two days' worth of daily challenges that switch in and out. Add all those other missions that were one-and-done to it, I'd love to have a reason to replay them and earn XP/Rip Chips/Tix! I'd like to see more missions that actually require using the Object Dropper. Currently there's very, very few (less than 5 maybe?) that do, and they're very basic like, "place one ramp in this exact spot and you're done." I want some open-ended missions that are almost like puzzles, "find the right pieces to make it across this gap," that kind of thing. I really like the new Own the Lot challenges, I love how many different objectives you've made for each area and that they're randomly chosen for replayability (not that there's a reason to replay them once you earn the Tix...), but the balance for solo or two players needs looked at. It is extremely difficult to reach the highest reward with two players, and practically impossible if you're solo. I don't think you should be forcing people to play in full parties just to be able to complete them. Please either have it dynamically adjust the amount of time given based on number of players, or just bump up the time gained when completing goals a bit? Progression: The grind for Rip Chips and Tix is miserable ever since they were nerfed in Season 1. It's so slow! It took me just under 85 hours to reach level 10 across the current three districts, and I still need a ridiculous amount of Rip Chips to buy all the boxes. Please, fans are more likely to return to the game and buy the battle passes when they're easier to finish, not harder and grindier! I wish battle passes were permanent. Please look at games like Helldivers 2 for how much better a consumer-friendly permanent battle pass system can be. It leads to more sales in the long term than FOMO does! Multiplayer/Social: Get rid of the mission countdown timer entirely as it currently functions in co-op. As the host I would much rather choose a mission, then it shows up for other party members and requires them to hold a button to accept/vote to start it. That way it only starts when everyone is ready, rather than the current 10 second timer before yanking everyone away from what they were doing. There's no text chat! This is so disappointing for an MMO-like game with a big focus on the social aspect. Text chat would let me meet up with randoms, skate some lines, chat with them, etc. without needing to form a party and use voice chat. Emotes: It is baffling to me that emotes can't be heard by others. You just silently, awkwardly dance on everyone else's end. Please add it so everyone can hear each others' emotes, or at the very least other party members! Add a customizable emote wheel, rather than the current system of only having four emote slots that use LB + one of the four directions on the D-Pad. It's very limited and there's a TON of emotes I want to be able to use more often! Please gimme more than 4 emote slots! Quite a few emotes can't be done while you're on your board. I really love the ones that let you do that, can we get that for all of them? For example, the Running Man and Moonwalk emotes would be hilarious while on your board. Currently when doing emotes it'll mute the music whether it be from your music player or the open world, I'd rather it not do that, at least the open world music, and play them both at the same time. Cosmetics/Customization/Store: Clothes are way, way too baggy and massive, especially shirts. It makes my character look like they gained 100 pounds! I really hope you'll either revert the new Season 2 face complexions, or let us adjust them back to how they used to look. My character looks much worse now, the shading around the eyes and nose is so much darker than before! We should be able to freely place stickers on our board, including resizing them, rather than the current 3-sticker system that's very limited. Let us buy things from store bundles individually! The incentive to buying a bundle instead should be that the combined price is discounted while individual items aren't, just like how Fortnite or other successful live service games do it. I guarantee there's a lot of people out there who have zero interest in spending $20+ on a bundle but would drop a few bucks here and there for one or two items out of the bundles. This is really low on the scale of importance (hence me putting it near the bottom), but I'm not a fan of how every costume so far either looks like it was made of paper mache or cardboard. I was really hopeful that Isaac Clarke would return to this game, he was my favorite character to use in skate 3! I kept asking if he'd return on skate's social media leading up to release lol. I was very disappointed that what we instead got was an unappealing cardboard box costume version of him. I would gladly have given you guys some money if you had just ported over the skate 3 model (aka the OG Dead Space model). Could we get the original green "Yeah Right!" deck? I saw the new 20th anniversary version was in the store a few weeks back, but the OG is a classic.494Views15likes13CommentsCompliments
I ❤️skate. Is it perfect, of course not, is it really good, even great...YES. the physics are amazing. I just skate around the city, and I'm impressed. It feels good. this iteration is an improvement over the 1st gen of skate. I don't "mind" the graphics, I assume it is less resource intensive and it doesn't hurt the experience. The Skate shop is improving, and I expect that will continue. Right now, I'm enjoying myself and still want more. I expect the city will grow exponentially, so I can wait a bit longer for that... At this point the only change I would add is a day/night cycle. If you could add light seasonal weather...a little rain to make the streets slippery, so more bails...that would be awesome! I really want to go on some night sessions. Thanks! You guys are doing a great job! these are my opinions, usage may vary.
