EA Background Services On Startup & Close?
"EA Background Service" for my computer is showing up on my task manager on my computer after turning it on for the morning, without even starting anything EA-related. The app is not open, Epic is not open, Xbox, B.net, nothing related to it at all is open and yet this is still on my task manager for some reason when I restart my computer. I have no startup programs that would cause this. It's also set to "manual" in my services, yet it started up on its own before any prompt, like a spyware or malware program would. It also does not close when I close the EA App, and I have background services off entirely. Please help me fix this. It seems no one has found a fix for this for years and years, and people keep asking for help on it, and nothing works.Exception Breakpoint
Hello, I'm currently encountering a mild issue: every time I shut down my PC after playing The Sims 4, a pop-up window appears telling me that an exception breakpoint has been reached. The title of the window indicates it is being prompted by EADesktop, which is found in the EA app files, not The Sims game files, so I am assuming it's a problem with that application. I'm not sure I can get a screenshot of the error message, since it's interrupting the shutdown process when it occurs, but I will attach a DxDiag.txt file below. The error code I'm getting is 0x80000003 (which seems to be the common code for this error) and it occurs at location 0x00007FFC0292D8E1 (or, at least, it did the time that I wrote down the details). I have since uninstalled and reinstalled both the EA app and The Sims 4 at least twice each, and I continue to encounter the issue, but I haven't checked if the error location is the same. It doesn't affect anything once the "OK" button or the "X" is pressed as far as I can tell, but it is an at first alarming and then annoying interruption to the normal shutdown process. In terms of troubleshooting, I've done the following: Repair files for EA application + The Sims 4 files, shutdown: issue persists; Disable run on startup for EA application, end EA tasks in Task Manager, use PC for light tasks (Firefox ~15 minutes) without using EA app or The Sims 4, shutdown: no issue encountered; Boot up PC, use for light gaming (Civ V for ~1 hour), shutdown: no issue encountered; Boot up PC, play The Sims 4 as normal, then shutdown: issue persists. Uninstall EA application + The Sims 4, check shutdown + restart quality without EA app installed: no issue encountered; Reinstall EA application + The Sims 4, shutdown + restart with EA app installed, without using EA app or The Sims 4: no issue encountered; Play as normal, then shutdown: issue persists; Boot up PC, check remaining storage and memory: looks okay to me, but I'm no expert. Refer to the attached DxDiag.txt file to make an independent judgement. Run mdsched + restart to check for memory leaks: no problems detected; Open the Sims 4, close the application, check Task Manager and end EA background processes, then shut down: no issue encountered. My current conclusion: Issue is related to the EA application and only the EA application, which is engaged on some level every time The Sims 4 runs. Because the EA application continues to run in the background/system tray even after closing the window, its background processes continue running until ended directly in Task Manager (which does not produce an error code) or indirectly by the shutdown process, which is where the pop-up occurs. Best guess: even the clean, new-in-box EA application background processes currently include a fragment of code with a debugging breakpoint that triggers when the program is "unexpectedly interrupted", producing a pop-up window which only allows the user to terminate the program, which, incidentally, is what the shutdown process is already doing, and what most users expect the "X" on the application window to have already done. Other, related advice I've seen but haven't tried: Run chkdsk as administrator to find and repair potential hard drive issues; Check for driver updates. Some kind of registry change to prevent EA from running in the background after being closed out? Though I have technically been able to locate the problem and a workaround, I would love to find a solution that doesn't require me to open Task Manager after every session of the Sims, so if you have any thoughts, please advise. I was charged twice. Please refund one of them. Please process this quickly. I kept trying. to get a refund. But the refund selection window doesn't appear. My order number is 1008381916801. The game won't even launch, so please fix this. I've spent 88,000 won but I can't play the game right now.83Views0likes3CommentsEA App crashes
There's something very wrong with the EA App. I wanted to play Star Wars Battlefront 2, but after a few minutes it always crashes with the error message "Star Wars Battlefront II is shutting down. This is the result of the Origin Client being terminated." I tried everything I could find on the internet and it didn't help. So I ended up uninstalling the game and downloading it again. The problem is that either the download runs for a few minutes and then gets stuck, or the EA App crashes completely. I played Star Wars without any problems until half a year ago. Dear EA, please be so kind and fix this.SolvedEA app crashes within 2-3 seconds after opening
I urgently need help. For months now, I've been having a problem where the EA app closes itself within 2-3 seconds of starting, and I can't start or do anything. Since I have “repaired” and uninstalled the app several times at the request of support, I am now stuck in the login menu when I try to start the EA app and cannot do anything because the app closes on its own after 2-3 seconds as usual. I have tried everything conventional and even performed a clean boot. For this reason, I gave up working on this problem months ago. Now EA FC 26 is coming out and I would like to play the game, but I need the EA Launcher to do so. I now need your help to find a solution or further steps to finally be able to access the app again. I've been able to play Apex Legends on Steam the whole time, but that's not good enough for EA FC, ESPECIALLY IF YOU DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO THE EA APP! Problem in a nutshell: The app opens with a black screen (now after reinstalling in the login menu) freeze and closes on its own after 2-3 seconds, over and over again. Sometimes I get a crash report requesting a restart. This does not happen. Only by manually reopening the app does it open and crash again.386Views3likes6CommentsEA App closes immediately after launch / Cannot login
"I just installed the EA App, but it closes automatically 2 seconds after I open it. I can't even reach the login screen. Since the app won't stay open, I am unable to play any of my games. I need help fixing this launch issue."127Views2likes2CommentsEA App Requests Admin Permissions Every Time I Launch The App
Like the title says, every time I launch the EA app, it requests admin controls to make changes to my computer. This is not okay. The background telemetry EA runs while the app is open and while my game is in session, overloads my computer system, driving up the heat and forcing an full system crash. This is not okay, and this should not be happening. I've run a clean game with no mods or cc, and it does the same thing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a clean version of the app three times now, still crashes. This is not okay. I'm running my game/the EA app on a Macbook pro. When I manually quit my game, and quit the EA app, it relaunches itself without my persmission until it finally times out and gets flagged for not responding. This is after I've manually force quit the app. This is not okay.EA app freezes and auto closes
Hey Guys, I am having an issue with my EA App I am not able to use it, hence my games are unplayable, or I cannot open it without this freaking app, which doesn't open. I have tried multiple avenues such as mcconfig, repair app, cache clear, run as administrator and app recovery, nothing works. Once in a blue moon, it launches and lets me play games, but the next day same issue. The app is in desktop, for the sake I have enabled auto startup, hoping for it to work. It opens and lands in login page. Soon as it open as about 3-4 seconds it lags/freezes and auto-closes/ crashes. HELP ME
