[INFO REQUEST] "Service Limitations Apply" Error In EA app Or Online
Hi everyone, Over the past week, we’ve seen a small uptick in reports from players encountering a “Service Limitations Apply” error in the EA app on PC and Mac. This error appears during login, when launching a game via a third-party launcher (like Steam or Epic), or when trying to link those launchers to an EA account. To help us investigate and hopefully resolve this for those affected, please share the following information in your reply: Your region/country of residence Whether you are located in or connecting through a country listed under EA’s restricted regions (see: "EA games unavailable in some countries or regions") Are you using a VPN? If so, please disable it completely (make sure no VPN-related processes are running), reboot your device, and try again. Your EA app Error Reporter ID You can generate this from the EA app and post it here in the thread. See [INFO/GUIDE] Index - Troubleshooting the EA app. Once we have these details, we can investigate the issue further and try to identify its cause. Thanks for your help!Solved25KViews7likes209CommentsEA APP won't launch game in PC
I am currently trying to play Dragon Age Inquistion on PC after buying it on Steam. When I try to run the game, it launches the EA App. When I try to start the game in the EA App, the App disappears for a couple of seconds, then pops back up without actually starting the game. This is incredibly frustrating, as there seem to be many people with the same issue, yet the problem is not fixed. This kind of customer service failure really makes me not want to buy any other EA games on any platform, as it just feels like we are being taken advantage of.102Views1like4CommentsSteam account permanently linked to banned EA account – need unlink assistance
Hello. I have an issue with account linking that regular support could not resolve. My old EA account was permanently banned a long time ago due to an inappropriate nickname. I fully accept this ban and I am not requesting unban. However, my Steam account is still linked to that banned EA account. Because of the restriction, I cannot access the account linking settings to unlink Steam. Now I created a new EA account, but I cannot link my Steam account because it is still locked to the banned one. Support told me to contact ToS, and I already submitted an appeal case. But my main issue is not ban removal — it is only unlinking my Steam account so I can use my legally purchased games. Is there any way to escalate this case to account linking specialists or community managers for manual unlink review? Thank you very much for your time.Unable to launch Crysis 3 from EA app (Steam purchase)
When launching the Crysis 3 game from Steam, the game will open up the EA games launcher, pop up with a message saying "This game requires administrator privileges. Would you like to grant access?" Upon hitting "Ok", a new popup will say "You don't have access. This title may have been downloaded to your device by another user who owns the game. Log in to a different account or restart the app to try again." After talking through an EA customer support agent, I am still unable to launch the game, but they requested I fill out another forum post in case somebody else has this issue as well. Troubleshooting methods attempted, in case these work for you: 1.) Clearing the EA App cache via 3 Lines in top left corner -> Help -> App Recovery. 2.) Uninstalling EA app -> Redownloading installer on EA website -> Running installer as administrator -> Closing and launching EA app as administrator. 3.) Clearing EA App cache again (via step 1) and verifying games files on Steam via right click in library -> Properties -> Installed Files -> Verify integrity of game files. 4.) Running launchers in compatibility administrator mode via C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop\ or where the EA app is installed -> Open Properties → Compatibility for EALauncher.exe (or `EADesktop.exe) -> “Run this program as an administrator” -> Relaunch app. Hopefully these work for you, they didn't for me.60Views0likes0CommentsEA App Installation Timeout Error
Hi Everyone, If you'll are facing this stupid issue and have tried all methods of cleaning your folders and all but still get it. I have a solution for it since none of the methods in the forum worked. But still before trying this one just clear everything that's related to EA. So this error was not an issue from EA side it's from your laptop antivirus that's preventing it. Just turn of this feature before installing and then turn it back on after installation. Turn off Ransomware Protection in Windows Defender (Windows 10 / 11) Steps: Open Windows Security Press Windows key → search Windows Security → open it. Go to Virus & threat protection Click Manage settings (under Virus & threat protection settings) Scroll down and select Manage Controlled folder access Toggle Controlled folder access to Off Confirm the User Account Control (UAC) prompt. Note: Controlled Folder Access is the ransomware shield in Windows Defender. Turning it off removes protection for protected folders like Documents, Desktop, etc. ooooooooooooooo Turn off Ransomware Protection in Avast Antivirus Steps Open Avast Antivirus Click Protection (left panel) Select Ransomware Shield Clicktoggle Ransomware Shield directly to Off Choose a duration if prompted (e.g., 10 minutes, Until restart, or Indefinitely) oooooooooooooo And Yes it was Ransomeware Sheild which was literally deleting the folder after getting installed 😭 Hope it fixed your issue. Hello, I originally obtained the Holiday Celebration Pack for free through Steam. Due to repeated technical issues, I decided to uninstall Steam and now I am using the EA App only. However, when I try to download the Holiday Celebration Pack on the EA App, it says that the content is owned on Steam and I cannot access it. Since I no longer use Steam, I would like to know if it is possible to link, transfer, or restore this pack to my EA account so I can use it through the EA App. Thank you very much for your help !Basically lost everything
I was trying to clear storage on my computer's drive so I moved the EA App's files to the external drive which the app can access. I can see all my sims 4 files in there, all my information that I know of, but I boot up the game and there's nothing. None of my played saves, basically none of the sims/households I saved to my gallery (except one displayed on my profile), nothing. And the app isn't remaining open when I open the game so I have no idea if that is why or if it was something stupid I did. I tried a lot of things (repairing the app, moving the files around again, etc) except straight up uninstalling the app and reinstalling. I am genuinely at a loss. I just want to be able to play those saves again, have those sims back. Most of my sims stuff is kept on the external drive and it's always plugged into my laptop. Please help me, I desperately want this fixed.Steam Family Stops Split Fiction from being able to be played
For whatever reason (this was not an issue before) launching the steam family version of split fiction would allow me to play the full game and have another person outside of the family able to play with a friends pass. However, now despite owning the full game through steam family, i can no longer access the full game anymore, just the friends pass version. Is there any solution to this?31Views0likes0Comments
