I've enjoyed TS3 for many years, but recently I've run into an issue that is bringing me to my wits' end. Starting a few months ago, my game has begun to stop recognizing my installed store content. The game will work without any issue for days or even weeks. Then, without any warning, one day I'll open the launcher and be able to tell that the game is broken again because my 'Installed Content' tab lists only my installed store venues (as CC) and nothing else. If I try to reinstall my store content from my Downloads, the game gives me the following error: "Installation failed: Please make sure your game has the latest Software Updates and try again." In the past, I had some success fixing this issue by doing the following: Rename the Electronics Arts Folder containing this file to something like "Old-Electronic Arts" Attempt to open the game by launching the game through the EA App. This will generate a brand new EA folder. Close the game. Copy the Saves, Screenshots, SavedSims, Mods, Library, Recorded Videos and Installed World folders directly from the Old-EA folder to the newly generated Electronics Arts/Sims 3 folder. 4. Open the Old- version of the DCCache folder and copy all .ebc and .dbc files (anything that is not a .tmp or the missingdeps.idx file) and paste it into the new DCCache folder in the newly generated Sims 3 folder. Do the same thing with ccmerged.package in DCBackup. The first time I encountered this problem, that was all I needed to do to fix it. The next time, I was baffled when this exact same process failed to fix the problem. I then added a 5th step of deleting the SigsCache folder from the NEW file after it failed to load, and miraculously, my content was back. The problem is that even now that doesn't work. My last desparate attempt to fix the issue was to do a complete reinstall of the game. I then redownloaded every piece of store content from the store website, and found that I was actually able to install everything properly. After about an hour, my game was finally working again. That lasted for three days. I opened the game up again today... and all of my content was gone once again. I realize now that the only way the game will actually install my store content is if it's downloaded directly from the store while the launcher is open. If I attempt to use what it's downloaded previously, I receive the same error about software updates. I've also noticed that SOME of my old content will actually be reinstalled. Most of the items appear without thumbnails in the launcher, but a few random items in the launcher still show up properly. Those few items will re-install without the launcher complaining, but it refuses to process the rest of the folder. As far as I can tell, there is no difference between the items that it still recognizes and the ones it demands that I re-download. Obviously, I cannot re-download the entire store every single time I want to play the game. Does anyone have any idea how to stop this problem from cropping up, and why it's happening in the first place?83Views2likes12CommentsSporadic Outages: STATUS OF SIMS 3 STORE
Store has become seemingly unstable- has gone offline/online frequently since 2024. @me1260 posted a link of which you can use to check whether the store is available: https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/store.thesims3.com.html Whenever the Sims 3 Store is experiencing an outage, I wouldn't recommend buying SimPoints, worlds, expansion/stuff packs, or any other sims 3 content from the EA app, EA website, or Origin. Please note that the Daily Deal Times may be impacted due to outages. Keep an eye on the Spreadsheet and Daily Deal (DD) 2018 Rotation List and Sales Help | EA Forums - 1821670 for any updates. Happy simming everyone :)467Views2likes14CommentsThe Sims 3 game not launching
Hey guys, So I try to launch the sims 3 in the ea app, it opens the sims 3 launcher, I press play and it brings me back to the ea app and the game doesn't start. These are the things I have tried: Reinstalling the game. Repairing the game. Reinstalling the ea app. Cleaning the cache in ea app. Moving the ea folder to a different location. Downloading the direct X thing. Downloading the Alder Lake patch. Maybe you have some other things that I can try? (I have reached out to ea help, they said they will transfer the information to the team so they can look into it further) PC specifications in the attachment.1.5KViews2likes4CommentsI cant log in on my launcher
I can log onto the exchange absolutely fine but when I try logging in using the same password on my launcher it won't work. The screen flashes and then nothing happens. Doesn't say wrong password or anything it just doesn't work. I've tried a few suggestions I've seen online from old threads but no luck. I would like to upload some sims to the exchange but I can't upload from my launcher as I can't log in. Has anyone else had issues? Thanks.73Views2likes0CommentsNew Forced EA App on Origin Thin
Hello Today the Origin Thin I got on recommendation from on here, to address the store content issue, is blocking me from loading it with a big pop-up message about downloading and installing the EA App, with the only two options being "Install" or "Learn More", which opens my browser and then still has the pop-up to install. "Esc" doesn't get rid of it, and the launcher won't load past it. Why would I install the EA App when it doesn't load Store content??????????? Does someone have a link to an Origin Launcher that won't give me the pop-up to install the EA App please? It wouldn't surprise me if Sims 3 players resort to playing completely offline with the internet switched off. Then there won't be any data collection will there? If that is valuable then its probably a good idea to stop interfering with the Sims 3 launchers.619Views1like10CommentsThe Sims 3 Won't Launch on Windows 11
Hello, I recently bought a gaming computer that is running Windows 11 Pro. Sadly, I can't get the Sims 3 to play at all. Once installed, I open the launcher and hit the play button. The launcher closes, and nothing happens. Does anyone know of any fixes or workarounds? I even did a clean install of my system thinking there was something corrupted, and the problem still persists.311Views1like5CommentsQtcore4.dll not found solution
Qtcore4.dll is part of EADM and should be in c:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EADM directory (for 32 bit systems). If it's not there you need to reinstall eadm. Download new version at - http://eastore.ea.com/store/ea/html/pbPage.welcome?resid=S2mdKgoBAkcAAB2caUcAAAAX&rests=1265212714560 OR: http://www.ea.com/1/download-manager Uninstall old eadm and install eadm you just downloaded. This should not affect the playability of the game as this is only the download manager.17KViews1like26Comments
