PC Online Gameplay Unplayable After Recent Title Updates
Hi EA Community Team, I’m posting again because this issue has been affecting EA SPORTS FC 26 on PC for nearly two months, and there has been no formal response or acknowledgement from EA despite multiple reports. Since TU 1.1.3 (early Nov 2025) and significantly worse after TU 1.3.0 (Dec 2, 2025) online/competitive modes on PC have become effectively unplayable for me. Affected Modes Rivals Champions Pro Clubs Offline modes (Squad Battles, Rush) work better, though performance still declined after TU 1.3.0. Symptoms (Consistent & Reproducible) Controller input delay builds over time (up to 4–6 seconds for pass, shoot, sprint, switch) Unable to skip celebrations/replays because inputs don’t register Noticeable freeze/stutter at halftime → 2nd half becomes unplayable Severe FPS drops (“slideshow” level), especially during set pieces GPU usage spikes during stutters Match starts normally, then degrades after ~10–15 minutes This is not normal latency — it feels like the game loop or input queue is breaking down mid-match. I think this might be the 5th post I have personally made about this issue whilst noticing more and more pop up from other people. Hopefully this can act as some Megathread on the topic. As it’s getting beyond a joke how many people are getting ignored. Let me explain EXACTLY what the issue is we face. 4 of us play in person, with edited teams, which we edit ourselves using club transfers. We also edit players to previous versions on themselves (to make them better) At the beginning of this game (and FC25 which also had the exact same issue but was fixed - how can it be RE-BROKEN…madness) me and my mates move the players around to our desired teams. In order to maybe get a chance of a reply let me spell out exactly what happens. The teams that are edited are. Player 1: Man City, Newcastle, Spurs, Girona, PSG, Monaco, Leipzig, Palace Player 2: Rangers, Dortmund, River Plate, Fiorentina, Wolfsburg, Union Berlin, Napoli, Fenerbache Player 3: Man U, Atletico, Lyon, Bayern, Arsenal, Ajax, Salzburg, Frankfurt Player 4: Real Madrid, Barca, Kiev, Marseille, Benfica, Sporting, LA Galaxy, Villarreal. The main issue of the game is, when you, for example, on Kick Off mode, select Man City vs Newcastle, you select the home kit, then the away kit, the minute you click X on the away kit, it crashes. This happens with the vast majority of combinations of the edited teams. Weirdly if you go onto Champions League Mode it allows Man U vs Man City without crashing but no others. You can play using kick off mode if you use one edited team and one normal team (or even an edited team with less players moved to it) The second issue is, if you go onto Team Sheets, my default team is Man City. Press right to go to Newcastle, the game crashes. Navigate through menus to another of the teams we use. The game crashes. You simply cannot edit the team sheets of your created teams. The third issue is, after a certain amount of time, when moving players between our created teams using club transfers, it stopped working and If you try to move players between clubs, the game crashes. This is not 100% consistent, sometimes it allows, sometimes it doesn’t. This is a new issue that didn’t happen on FC25. These three issues stop us conducting a decade long tradition of simply creating our own squads, meeting up in person and using kick off mode on 2 TVs at the same time. The only way we are currently able to play is spending hours at a time figuring out a way to use league mode with our teams (as even the fixtures created in those are not consistent) Loads of people have reported very similar issues and nothing has been done. We are being ignored and watch more and more updates come out without resolving the issue. As I say. It was resolved on FC25 so we know it can be fixed. Is anyone else struggling with this on FC26 PC? EA added a shortcut where pressing “M” opens EA Tracks, but the problem is that it triggers even when you’re typing in search fields. Example: Go to the Transfer Market Try searching Musiala, Messi, Martinelli, etc. The moment you press M, the game pauses and opens Tracks, killing the search It feels like the game doesn’t recognise when you’re actively typing. Global hotkeys should be disabled in text input fields — this is basic UX. Right now, searching with a keyboard is genuinely frustrating unless you avoid the letter M entirely. Also, while we’re at it: Why did EA never bring back the Career Mode shortcut to view league tables from the main hub? Since FC25 you have to go Office → Standings just to see the table. It’s unnecessary menu diving for something fundamental. I’ve reported the Tracks issue to EA already, but I’m curious: Are other PC players experiencing this? Any workarounds you’ve found? Hi , I was looking high low on Forums and even EA support team on email to help me and to no avail,I was told that can’t help me which unfair as I have paid £90 for Ultimate Edition for PS so seeking any help for my issue below to find way to resolve this. So what my issue is that I got first instalment on 19 aug 2k and even set basic UT team play few games, then I took a break to family sickness and work busyness, so jump back on UT 4 - 5Days ago I only still have my 2.3k FC points (the 300 is from transfer from FC 25) so what asking when or how can get my remaining 4k FC points that paid for in the Ultimate Edition? Hello EA team, I am experiencing severe latency and lag issues in EA Sports FC 26 caused by incorrect network routing on your side. My internet provider is Deutsche Telekom (Germany). As the attached traceroute clearly shows, my connection is being routed through France (Zayo) and then to Ashburn, Virginia (USA) instead of reaching a European server like Frankfurt or Amsterdam, which would normally provide stable and low latency connections. This results in massive ping spikes, sometimes reaching up to 1000 ms, making the game literally unplayable. These spikes cause heavy input delay, laggy animations, and frequent desyncs during matches. While players on other ISPs in Germany such as Vodafone or 1&1 have stable 20–30 ms connections, Telekom users are forced through an inefficient transatlantic route. The issue occurs at all times of the day and is not related to peak traffic or local congestion. It is also not caused by my connection. Other online titles such as Battlefield 6, Apex Legends, Warzone and others run perfectly fine on the same network with low latency and no spikes. This issue is exclusive to EA Sports FC 26, which clearly indicates a routing or server allocation problem specific to this game. This problem is not new. Telekom users and EA players have been reporting the same issue for years. Unfortunately, the response has always been generic troubleshooting like restarting the router or checking the connection, which does not address the real routing problem. Details: Provider: Deutsche Telekom (Germany) Affected EA server: 159.153.71.17 (Ashburn, USA) Observed route: Telekom → Zayo (France) → Level3 → USA Expected route: EU nodes such as Amsterdam or Frankfurt (CDN77 or EA EU POP) Actual route: Forced routing to US East Coast (Ashburn, VA) This issue is reproducible and affects a large number of Telekom customers in Germany. It is also not limited to Telekom. Players from other countries and ISPs including the Netherlands, France, the UK and Scandinavia are reporting the exact same routing behavior to Ashburn, USA. This proves the problem lies on EA’s side or with its peering strategy, not with individual ISPs. I kindly ask that this case is escalated directly to EA’s network or infrastructure team, not closed with Tier 1 support replies. Please provide a ticket or case ID so this can be tracked and referenced properly. EA has publicly promised improved server infrastructure and better connectivity for FC 26 in Europe. What we are experiencing, however, is the complete opposite. Routing EU players through the US creates extreme latency spikes and gives other players an unfair advantage. This is unacceptable for a competitive online game. If this is caused by peering decisions with transit providers such as Zayo or Level3, this must be reviewed and corrected as soon as possible. This issue has already been discussed on Reddit, X (Twitter) and several ISP forums across Europe. Many players are affected. If it is not addressed properly, we will continue to document and escalate it publicly to gather more affected users. We need EA to review its server allocation and routing policy for European customers and ensure proper EU peering or reassign affected accounts to EU datacenters. I honestly don’t even know what’s going on with FC 26 anymore. This game is unplayable. Here’s what I’ve been dealing with since day one: Random input lag that comes and goes like it owns the place. Sometimes it’s fine, then suddenly it feels like I’m playing underwater. FPS drops out of nowhere , I’m talking 5 to 10 frames per second on a setup that should handle this game easily. The game randomly goes into slow-motion mode for no reason at all. It’s not connection-related, not hardware-related, just pure nonsense. If by miracle the input lag disappears, it stays fine for about 3 minutes before going crazy again. I’ve literally tried everything: Every single in-game graphics combination possible. Every video on YouTube about NVIDIA control panel settings. VSync on, off, frame rate limited, unlimited nothing makes a difference. I’ve spent hours tweaking, restarting, reinstalling, testing… and still the same garbage experience. This is not acceptable. I paid for this game expecting at least basic playability, and it’s been almost a month with no proper fix or acknowledgment. There have already been numerous reports of this issue, but you still haven't told us whether you're actually working on a fix (the only response we've gotten is that the problem is our connection, which is impossible given that it's an issue affecting many countries around the world). Even though you should already be aware of the problem by now, I'll reiterate it once again. Following the November 11 patch, patch 1.2.0, friendly matches in Clubs mode have started to have a serious problem: even when playing against clubs from your own country, you're mistakenly connected to the wrong server. (Example: I'm Italian, and when I play a friendly against another Italian club, we all get +20 ping more than we normally get in FUT, Rush, and other modes, and this didn't happen before patch 1.2.0.) As for Portugal, Italy, Spain, and other European countries, it seems like we're always connected to the Paris server for some reason. I REPEAT that this problem only affects friendlies, divisions, and playoffs played with your own club, while rush and drop-ins do not have this problem. This problem was already present in divisions and playoffs, but after patch 1.2.0, it started to occur in friendlies as well, which is significantly impacting the gaming experience for Clubs mode fans.
