Recon - Sniper
I've been playing FPS games for 15 years, and I've never seen such a weak Reccon sniper as in Battlefield. I have a level 40 mini-scout, I use 20-point bullets, the damage is high, I swear it hits the enemy's back from 20 meters away. Then I fired four shots with my pistol, it hit the target and he still didn't die... How can a character be so weak? It's unbelievable... You can't even lift your head on the battlefield, and then look at Reccon, the enemies don't die. I had just started playing, I won't play again. Very, very, very bad. Now that Season 3 has been released we want to hear from you. How does Railway to Golmud feel to play? Do you feel like the map is the right size? Too big? Or not big enough? With Season 3 vehicles were given a big overhaul. How do they feel to play now? Is there more versatility for ground vehicles? Does the Little Bird still feel dominant? Automatic weapon recoil was adjusted with Season 3, how is this feeling? This thread is primarily for feedback and discussion about the new Season. If you are having an in game issue please check to see if a thread has already been made and if not please make a thread reporting the issue.5.8KViews27likes434CommentsSupress that!
Suppressive fire is completely useless! This takes away a lot of the support class’s usefulness. When you’re under suppressive fire, it has absolutely no effect on your aim. A sniper can still calmly line you up without flinching, instead of feeling forced to hide. Forget about nerfing snipers and DMRs—just add a penalty to their aim.AA vehicle and reward system in general
Actually, the more I play jets, the more I understand the developers' mentality. Why is it that after so many updates and balance changes, they still make no effort to force players to leave the HQ zone?! Because the developers' goal isn't to reward skilled players who spend hours playing jets and learning how to navigate the chaos of simply knowing who's locking onto them and how to avoid being locked onto again as soon as they launch flares, but rather to reward players with half a brain who can spend an entire match in the base locking onto aircraft with an insane range, even though the maps are small. At this stage, jets are useless. If you lock onto an aircraft, it releases its flares, and so in just that short period, you've already been locked onto 26 times, you've already released your own flares, and so a flight boils down to nothing but that. Taking off while already locked onto. Spotting a target on the ground or in the air. Reaching the lock, but even then it's just aerial zigzagging and having to turn back. And that perfectly sums up the entire game system! Unlocking dozens of things in every match without doing anything isn't even rewarding. Progressing through the battle pass isn't even fun. There's no effort required, and at the end of the match, you just get milestones. The challenges? There are no challenges; you just play "normally," and the challenges unlock automatically. The levels/ranks? No merit whatsoever. It levels up at lightning speed, with lots of noise and explosions, so the half-witted can be happy. Matchmaking? You can be a new player and play utter garbage from start to finish, no problem, you're still in lobbies with level 400+ players who spend the entire game trying to make up for your mistakes. Just like in our society, it's a race to the bottom, again and again. Even if it means dragging the best and/or veteran players (I don't consider myself in the first category, but definitely in the second) down with them.Players are afraid, of communicating in-game!
First thoughts: Less arcade, more destructible everything and stop with Polaris bulldozer quads that smash buildings better than a tank. Make better maps and stop making interns do all the heavy lifting. And try consolidating the Battlefield labs team to the same office, or at least the same continent....There's so much hand-off going internally, no wonder EA, Dice and the other Devs fix 2 things and break 10 more. Simplify and focus. Do better for the players. The track this game is on will destroy it. I would hate to see that happen after playing Battlefield for going on 24 years now....... Oh, and fix the joystick support for throttle (IE: Logitech 3d pro based sticks), better maps for flying, add some propeller aircraft (would slow them down, add maneuverability and FUN), add ships like we used to have in BF1942. That said, stop kicking/banning people off an NC17 game! Ive been asking players "Why so quiet/ No one wants to use chat in-game or even Mic in-game anymore?" and the response EVERY TIME? "We are afraid of getting kick/banned!" Why punish players for using in-game tools that are supposed to be encouraged for team play? This ban thing is out of control. Please don't be too heavy-handed with any sniper adjustments
We've gotten wind that there are sniper adjustments on the way. Okay, that's fine. But I want to make something clear, they DO NOT need to be completely demolished. I've seen some absurd suggestions so far, things like "introduce BF3 level suppression so they lose all their accuracy if I'm shooting in their general direction!" and "reduce their bullet velocity to BF4 levels," something which would make them fire with less velocity than nearly ever assault rifle in the game. SNIPERS ARE NOT AS GOOD IN THIS GAME AS THEY INITIALLY APPEAR ON PAPER. The abundance of cover in this game (arguably overabundance in some cases) means that long sight-lines almost do not exist on many maps in the game. You cannot look at sniper stats in a vacuum and say they're OP because they're stronger than they were in prior titles, you have to consider the map design as well. Most maps have maybe 1 objective that provides a good, long sight line (ex: Manhattan Bridge B objective) but the rest of the map is squarely designed for full-auto, CQB weapons. This is due to all the cover in this game. You can obv do very well with them if you're crazy accurate, but that's always been the case. Also, it's worth emphasizing, the suggestions people are delivering for snipers are suggestions to make them closer to older games where they had almost no impact on the game. Snipers SHOULD be able to kill you. They SHOULD be able to make an impact. And reducing their bullet velocity to the point they can't hit moving targets will hurt them on even the few long-range sight lines that do exist. There are not many relevant long range engagements in most maps (remember Sobek and Blackwell being reworked) and mid-range weapon performance is crazy due to very little spread on full-auto weapons and recoil being controllable at that range (another huge issue with using recoil instead of spread as a balance mechanic.) Ask yourself, how many times has a sniper ACTUALLY gotten top of the scoreboard in your games outside of Rush/Breakthrough where they're farming kills on other worse snipers. It has never happened in any Conquest game I've played. The average Battlefield player's perspective on snipers is "they kill me sometimes and I don't like that so they should be unusable." Do not listen to these people. The sweet spot mechanic is strong in theory, and has its places, but I want to remind you that YOU choose to walk into the bright rainbow glint repeatedly. I don't think I've ever died to the sweet spot mechanic more than once a match, unless I'm engaging in sniper battles myself. That's not a big deal!Increase or Remove the Favorite Skin Limit Please
The current limit of 8 favorites feels too low now, especially for players who have been collecting skins for years. Many legends and weapons have way more than 8 good skins, so the “random favorite” option ends up feeling limited instead of fun. A higher limit, like 25 or 50, or even no limit at all, would make the random favorite feature much better. It would let players keep more of their favorite skins in rotation and make collecting cosmetics feel more rewarding over time. It would also help with one issue I’ve personally run into: once I hit the favorite limit, new skins for my main become less appealing because I know I’ll have to remove one from my rotation just to use them in random favorites. Because of that, I’ve sometimes decided not to buy skins I otherwise liked. So increasing the limit would not only improve the player experience, but could also encourage more cosmetic purchases.33Views1like1CommentLatest BF6 Opinions
I haven't checked in for a while because I wanted to play a good bit in season 3 with the changes. I'm going to list what I perceive as some problems that still exist, in order of importance. 4 man squads, needs to go back to 5 man squads. This is a team oriented game and if even one person on your squad wants to fly or drive, it really disrupts the squad too much. Gof forbid one person wants to fly a chopper and another snipe. AA is horrible in this game. We're still in the same trap as BF4. Stingers are practically worthless, so no one plays them. The AA vehicle is poor. The only real defence against decent to good air player is having your own air players to challenge them, for which there aren't enough of. Jets and choppers have their way with the world too much. Some of the maps need to be reworked a little. You have a decent selection of maps, but those maps have some problems. Firestorm mountain on one side, snipers can sit there all day and no one can go up and kill them. Eastwood the A B area is too easy for the other side to back cap, Either constrict that area or move A and B closer together so they can be defended as a pair. Blackwell Fields the northen boundaries around B and D need to be expanded. Team balance - I don't know what the algorithm is, but too often the teams are way unbalanced. RPG's are practically worthless. Spotting is better but still very poor, so no one even tries. Sometimes i have my crosshairs right over an enemy and i'm spamming the key and it's not spotting. Drone batteries - need to last twice as long, or, give someone 3 drones to carry. I would expand the range of TUGS by about 10% Overall i'm really happy with the latest direction of changes. I think before season 3 things were pretty dismal. Cheers!
