I think I’m done
with Battlefield. I’ve been playing BF for 22+ years and have every game in the franchise. At least the ones they let me keep on CD and didn’t too-bad-so-sad kill the servers for.
Why?
Aim assist.
The maps, particularly small CQ maps like TDM, are unplayable thanks to the massive advantage disparity given some players thanks to whatever netcode, aim assist bump, and exploit (script, cronus, cheat, whatever) they’re taking advantge of.
75% of the games will have one to four players taking 70% of the kills. 30-40 kills between one or two players a side out of 50 to win. The matches are all but unplayable; you spawn, head toward the action, come around a corner, brrt insta-dead. Repeat. Or get picked off at 70 meters by an SMG or carbine in a short burst. This should be impossible due to bloom/spread. The bigger maps are somewhat better as they don’t get to camp so easily, but they still F up a game by hanging back and statpadding by griefing players trying to cap objectives. Their advantage is glaringly and blatantly obvious.
It’s no fun anymore, it ruins gameplay, and I don’t see EA doing a d*mn thing about it. Plenty of patches or updates have come and gone with no addressing the issue. I gave it a chance, but I think that’s all folks
