Thinking it over, this is a boon for new players and F2P getting capital ships without having to refresh with crystals. One of the things that make fleets inaccessible is how long it takes to star a capital ship (among others). Which is why I rewrote this post being less negative. And these capital ships aren’t exactly the strongest in the game at the moment or are the most basic capitals…so who cares about them being more accessible.
However reducing rewards (SSC currency, and prestige) when there is already a crunch on prestige especially because you aren’t giving squad currency in the dailies is bad. Capital ships will still be largely useless and will make the stars not worth anything. Prestige needs to better managed if this change is to go through well add the equivalent prestige lost to the ship upgrade materials event that already gives prestige. That way you don’t drive your current player base to want to quit if feel they are losing rewards they’ve gotten for years.
