If that's the direction things are heading, it would be better to communicate that directly so players can make informed decisions. For instance, with this update—why even show the battles if players can't interact with them? It feels counterintuitive. If the intent is to phase them out, it would make more sense to remove them entirely.
I understand the focus on reducing free rewards, but there are numerous other aspects of the game that remain broken and could benefit from attention. It’s hard to see this as a priority over fixing longstanding issues.
