Cosmetic Pricing, FOMO, and Fairer Solutions for Everyone
So after sticking with skate. for a while now, the pricing of cosmetic items is honestly one of the most frustrating parts of the game since the beginning. I’d genuinely love to spend money on this game, but right now the price and value just don’t match. At times it almost feels like the items are priced out of caution — as if there's a worry players wouldn’t buy another one — and that makes it hard to justify supporting the shop. The Main Problems Prices randomly go up even on re-released items (e.g., Grim Reaper skin suddenly more expensive, with the original price shown as a “discount”). Basic recolors or slapped-on graphics sold for premium prices (350 SVB or more). Bundles priced like luxury products even when they only contain minor variations of existing items. FOMO-driven rotations that pressure players to check the shop daily. Season Pass cosmetics feeling like filler, despite being one of the few consistent sources of items. It’s not that players won’t pay — it's that the value proposition feels off, and that creates frustration instead of trust. Realistic Solutions 1. Introduce a Price Baseline for Common Items Set consistent price ranges: Simple recolors → lower tier Brand collabs or unique models → mid tier Complex or premium designs → high tier No more random spikes. Just predictable pricing that feels fair. 2. Reward Actual Play With a Small Flow of Earnable Cosmetics Not tons — just 1–2 unique items per event or milestone. This keeps players motivated and reduces backlash over paid items. 3. Expand Event Currency Use If an item belongs to an event, let us buy it with event currency. Limit the earnable pool (so players can only earn enough for around 60–70% of the items), and they can choose to: manage their currency smartly or buy a small extra amount if they really want something But the key thing is: All event items and all event challenges need to be available on day one. Nobody wants to spend their hard-earned currency in Week 1 just to have a surprise batch of new clothing appear in Week 2 that they can’t afford anymore. That feels unfair and punishes early participation. Fair for players + EA still monetizes. 4. Make Re-Releases Price-Locked If an item returns, it should never cost more than it originally did. If it goes on sale, great — but raising prices just damages trust. 5. Optional “Brand Booths” Instead of Daily FOMO Rotations Replace daily shop-only items with: permanent brand booths in the city plus the existing Extravert shop for basics Rotating premium drops can still exist, but players shouldn’t feel forced to log in every day “just in case.” Closing Thought Players want to support the game — that’s not the issue. The issue is the lack of value, fairness, and stability in how items are priced. If items had more customization options (e.g., fully colorable shirts, adjustable sizes), then the current pricing would actually make sense. Paying 200–350 SVB for something you can personalize feels way more justified than paying the same for a static recolor. Hit It, Hold It Seasonal Challenge not possible
The Hit It, Hold It Seasonal Challenge is not actually possible to complete with the default Allowed Fall Height setting. After many attempts to jump from one roof down to the other into the roll-in I would crater every time no matter how good an angle I had on the landing into the transition. After some feelings of frustration, I decided to test if changing the Allowed Fall Height setting would actually make it work. Lo and behold, it in fact allows the first jump to be possible every time. I'm not sure if it's a bug or not but I'd imagine that challenge is supposed to be possible regardless of if you have Allowed Fall height set to the max setting or default of 1 (The 0 setting makes most heights high enough have you bail or crash). Its quite upsetting when youre trying to set up for a trick and you Ollie really low. There is no surefire way of tricking onto something high enough because it doesnt matter how hard you flick the stick, you still ollie low. The game decides when you should Ollie high. Not you especially when using an obstacle. I have tested this. To Ollie you must pull the right stick back and then forward. Why is my character ollieing when im half way through pushing the stick forward? Theres no way to control Ollie trick height effectively. Another example. In order to do an impossible you flick down and all the way around, right? So why do I end up doing a low pop shut? No even a 360 shove? The trick triggered before I even got to finish the stick rotation. This happens so often. Theres also not an ounce of human thought that goes into creating your community skateparks. Not a single location except maybe the church feels like a realistic skatepark or skatespot. Please enlighten me, who is in charge of this? Who did this? Have you even stepped on a skateboard in your life/lives? Have you even stepped in a skatepark before? The parks in this game are embarrassing. Maybe even worse than that. Im hearing you have a contract with SLS? How did you even manage to do that considering you dont know the first thing about skateboarding. Waited years for skateparks with seasonal PITS. Fall through the park and you end up in a barely skateable, much less appealing grave. Please get help from idk, Tony hawk or something. At least he got parks right. Atleast we dont have to try a line a million times because each line is different no matter how consistent you are with the stick input. Just too much to talk about. I wish we could play the game together so I can look at yall in disappointment anytime something absolutely dumb happens that would never happen in actual skating. Just throw it all away. It's been over 3 months, how is this still an issue?
Playing in a party is a completely botched experience. It's only a matter of time before party members, other skaters, traffic, or NPCs disappear for the entirety of the session. Call me crazy, but I think the appeal of playing with friends is being able to **bleep** see them and hang out with them. Not to mention it makes OTL challenges that much more difficult if you can't see where others are. We don't need pointless little nice-to-have additions. At MINIMUM we need the core experience to be a seamless one. We shouldn't be struggling with the basics this long after release...15Views0likes0Commentsi just don't get it
maybe I'm being naive but i assumed (especially back in season one) that seasonal events would mean more things to actually do. i was hoping they would at least give us new community parks weekly but no, just more challenges for the same parks. again maybe I'm just dumb but what are they spending their time on? i like the interactive ramps but 8 spread out across the map is not a lot and i don't see how that would be so hard that it takes away from their time to make parks. not to mention i don't really care for any of the cosmetics either. as it is i don't have any motivation to play for more than 30 minutes a day, but maybe that's a skill issue. has anyone else had these thoughts?17Views1like1Commentresolution changing when booting game and graphic settings not changing

Climbing buildings is extremely frustrating right now. There should be smoother climb options like windows, ledges, or other natural access points. I wish there was an option to select how many boxes I want to open at once instead of being forced to open them one by one. Opening boxes individually takes too long and feels unnecessary.
