Perfect match for uneven couple...
I love it when I find a rare case of amazing compatibility AND strong chemestry/attraction AND it works both ways. But, I find it problematic when the couple is not supposed to be, thanks to protocol and coming from different classes. In RL those rules for royals can be very strict, and maybe they should be. But there are also examples of royals marrying someone far below their own level. I think I might need some input on this... Princess Evendice (28) and Mr Robin Hump (27) got the full score. They have stayed 3 years in the same manor while getting their university degrees. During the last term something happened, and although it seems they tried their best to hold back - romance bar hardly developed - they seem to be the perfect match? Evendice has the Princess title, but she is not seen as a member of royal Huse of Luxe-Hamper. She is daughter of King Tarriot's only brother, but she is only 6th in line of successors to the Throne. She will not likely be a very central person in the future royal puzzle. So maybe the choise of spouse can be less strict? Because, Mr Robin Hump was hardly born into aristocracy, and his parents divorced long ago. He is not to blame for either, but obviously far below the level of a princess. His mother was born into House of Rab-Saxor (not the main branch of that family though), and later she married to the brother of the Duke of Rossie. She was never made member of the duke's House of Ross and her 2nd husband holds no title beyind being styled Lord. Robin's father, who is a Doctor (DNA specialist), later founded House of Hump, where Robin is a central member, but they don't hold any title either. So, Robin is just about not a commoner. Oh, should I mention that Robin's stepfather is King Tarriot's 1st cousin? Evendice and Robin won't share DNA, though, so maybe that is just a good thing in these circles? In RL they would definitely not be seen as an even couple based on social classes. I'm undecided where to push them. They already have a close tie, but they are not dating, at least no officially. In my game anyone in line to a House (or throne, even) need approval from Head of House. Should Princess Evendice even bother to bring this up? Should they just keep seeing each other secretly? Or are they both too young to hurry? What do you think the reply from the King would be? He has a rather modern mindset, but well, is it possible for him to ignore protocol? Baby Daddy
I’m ready for my successful actress to settle down and have a child. I don’t want her to have a science baby, I’d like to pick a baby daddy who will be a scoundrel and have nothing to do with the child. Don Lothario is the obvious choice but I’m not picking in. I was thinking Brant Hecking, as he is supposed to be in a gay marriage so she won’t want to expose their sordid affair haha.
Seeker of Secrets
I recently created a new Sim for my save, and since she's in PR, I thought giving her the nosy trait and the Seeker of Secrets aspiration is fitting. I wasn't aware of how much fun that aspiration is! So far, she has found ten out of 31 secrets and will very likely leverage a few of them, depending on how the Sims behave. One is already on her black list after telling her "Our club is very exclusive. You don't fit in". The second she finds out that Sim's secret, she'll leverage it 😈 My very favourite secret is Vladislaus Straud's. It's called "Moo-Hoo". The gist: Once upon a time, Vlad had a cowplant he brought to work to attract more customers. But as the cowplant kept growing, its hunger grew, too. Eventually, it started eating customers and Vlad's boss, so he locked it away in a safe place. I think it's random which Sim spills which secret, but I thought that one was especially hilarious 😂 Others I have encountered: hates pickles; believes in Moon Bears; has pool PTSD; is jealous of Grim's elegance; collects socks; returns gifts he doesn't like to the Sim who gifted them; took a space trip as a toddler; washes dishes in bathroom sink every now and then; fantasizes about the stove catching fire because flames are so pretty; left an abandoned dog to its own devices because it had creepy eyes. I'm having so much fun with this inspiration and the trait! Also, I discover things about my own Sims I didn't know, like one of them being jealous of Grim's elegance. Some of these secrets can be worked into gameplay, too - like the "I return gifts I don't like"-secret, or the sock thing (that Sim is gonna end up with socks on every single outfit, no matter if it looks good or not), and I think with a little bit of imagination and role-playing, the pool PTSD might work, too. And the Grim thing? That Sim is gonna buy the Grimophone next time I play with her so she can meet Grim in person and fangirl over him like there's no tomorrow 😁Day 12 - New Year, Old Flame - The 12 Days of Simsmas

Honestly, as of currently, the wedding pack is decent. All my sims sat down when they were supposed to and followed the itinerary, which meant the big buttons on the arch actually work. Here are some tips for a smooth wedding: A wedding venue WILL have strangers walking in. As the Wedding Venue doesn't seem to have a Lock for Event goers only, the best thing to do is to abuse the "Kick out of Wedding Event" incessantly and the only thing left will be your guests. DO NOT invite toddlers or infants. Toddlers have nowhere to sit and will disrupt the wedding. It is best that they unfortunately stay out. Abuse the Make Needs Happy button (Fulfil needs cheat). Every 5 hours, I will pause the game and do it to ALL my guests including the bride and the groom. This will prevent anyone from dying in the game or peeing all over. The best thing to ensure the cake does not go bad is by buying an hour before the wedding and remembering to set it as cake in Wedding right before. If you download a wedding venue from the gallery, make sure routing is okay before you proceed to hold your ceremony. The last issue is something I find a little difficult to solve. As you CANNOT force change outfit through cheats of other sims not played by you (No mods), the outfit aspect is a HUGE gamble. Thankfully, my Sims looked decent for their friends' Chinese wedding but this is definitely something I hope Maxis adds in, as we can't really select the outfits for each guest (unfortunately).
The Sims In Real Life
Have you ever come across things in real life and thought, 'That's so Sims!' Mostly it happens when I'm at a restaurant with friends and my Sims brain goes DINING OUT! But I'm celebrating the holidays with my mom and sisters in the Eastern Cape (South Africa), in a quaint little coastal town. And yesterday we drove past the only vet office in town and my brain was like, 'WOW! IT'S LIKE I'M IN BRINDLETON BAY!!' Even more so when my mom and I took her little mixed breed doggy for a walk close to the beach and I took in all the scenery with the winy sandy walkways and all the seaside decor everywhere. Please share your real life Sim experiences. I'm sure I can't be the only one 😋
Fire Count . . .
Just for grins and giggles, I decided to go through my updates and count just how many times a fire has broken out at Erik Cantrell's home. I made a list: Cantrell: The Early Years, Part Six "Celebration Gone Awry" Update-1 Cantrell: The Middle Years, Part One" "But the Naturopath Said . . ." Update-12 "Balancing Act" Update-14 "Stuck On the Dark Side of the Moon" Update-16 Cantrell: The Middle Years, Part Two "When the Year Ends With a Bang" Update-1 "Putting on a Brave Face" Update-3 "Under Fire" Update- 8 (This is a twofer, as in two fires in the same update. Yikes) I haven't written up the next update, but yeah, it's got a fire in it, too. I think my Erik Cantrell family is having a serious streak of bad luck, wouldn't you? Please list a count of how many fires your main Sim family has encountered. It's okay if you don't list any titled updates, I'm aware not everybody shares a story.
