@20aims What version of macOS do you have? (To find out, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your screen and select About This Mac.) If you're still running Yosemite, it may help to download a legacy version of Origin. First though, do a clean uninstall to remove all traces of the current version of Origin from your computer. Here's how:
https://bluebellflora.com/how-to-uninstall-origin-on-a-mac/
You can download the legacy version from here:
https://www.dm.origin.com/mac/download/legacy
When installing, be sure to uncheck the box to automatically keep Origin and your games up to date, or else Origin will update itself to the current, nonworking version.
If you have a later OS, you can try these steps to troubleshoot. Start with an Origin reset, and if that doesn't help, make sure proxies are disabled. Instructions for each step are in this link:
I have the 2017 MacBook using macOS Mojave. I deleted everything, reinstalled. Tried again and reset origin and download same problem. I tried talking to one of the ea workers from India & they said they would refer me to a specialist BUT NO ONE GOT BACK TO ME. I’m at this point where I’m about to throw a tantrum and break my computer 😂😭 I’ve updated everything with the same issues. I tried the time zone thing. NOTHING FREAKING WORKS. Can some magical intelligent person help me ASAP. I spent so much money on buying the expansions and packs & now I can’t play it.
@destinayee Please try whichever of the steps in this guide you haven't already:
Start by disabling proxies, if you have any.
If none of that works, please create a new admin user account on your computer and try to launch Origin through there.
You could also install the legacy edition of Origin, as linked in my previous post. It doesn't always help on Mojave, but there's no harm in trying.
Hi! Thank you so much for your help!
Still no luck ☹️ I have tried disabling proxies and I am running MAC Mojave.
Thanks again in advance, really appreciate the advice. 🙂
@20aims I'm sorry to hear that those steps didn't help. (And I unmarked the solution.) So none of the steps in the Origin guide for Macs made a difference?
There are a few other things you can try, although I'm not sure any of them will help. The first is to run the Origin reset tool again. When you open Origin afterwards, it will ask if it can share your hardware specs, open at login, and automatically keep itself and your games up to date. Uncheck all three boxes.
If that doesn't help, is it possible that some of your apps are out of date? A couple of people have reported that updating iTunes fixed a different issue with Origin. This is kind of a shot in the dark, but there's no harm in updating those apps, which aren't covered in an OS update.
Another thing you can try, if you haven't already, is creating a new admin user account on your Mac and trying to sign into Origin on that account instead.
Please also make sure that your time and date are set correctly on your computer. It's easiest to just let the system sync with internet time. The clock being off is more a Windows problem than a Mac one, but it's easy enough to test.
If none of this works, let me know, and I'll try to think of something else. This is a difficult problem to troubleshoot because the few of us helpers who use Macs haven't been able to reproduce it, but if you want to keep trying things, I'll do my best to keep coming up with suggestions.
Every time I log into origin it says servers are temporarily unavailable- has said this for a week now!! I have a Mac
@brileigh24 Have you tried the steps listed earlier in this thread?
Yes I tried all of that, still saying servers unavailable.
How do I at least find the product code?
The game code isnt on my history, or my confirmation email
