Re: Can you mute your own mic on PC?

How do I know if it's broadcasting while I'm using Skype with friends? Turning it off in Windows isn't always an option as I need the mic for Skype.

My son (who's 10) wants to play the game too. I'd rather that he not partake in online conversations knowingly or, even worse, unknowingly.

I don't think it's too dramatic to be concerned about privacy here.

When you hit tab while in game it brings up the scoreboards. If you look beside your name and see a speaker icon that means your mic is enabled. I have also been playing around with it and have yet to find a way to mute yourself just in game to be able to use other programs that use the mic as well.
