Re: Did you get value for money from GW2?

$99 for the standard?!? Where the heck do you live???

In the US the standard ed. is $60. Or at least it was upon release, I saw on Amazon the disc version is down it $40, the same price GW1 retailed for.

In my case, when GW1 came out, even though I was very interested in it from the trailers, I still wasn't sure it was my kinda game, as I don't do shooters. So I ended up trading in a game to get it, and only paid like $3 out of pocket for the disc version. It quickly became one of my all-time favorite games, and easily my most played game....like EVER! I felt so guilty I only spent $3 for it.

I ended up selling my disc version so I could buy the digital version, just because I knew how much I was going to play it, and didn't want to worry about switching discs, whenever anything else came along. This was after GW1 had been out for awhile, so I only spent $13 for the digital version. But I swore when the next game out, I was going to happily pay full price for the game. I again wanted the digital version, so for the first (and after this, the only time) I spent $60 on a digital game.

Sadly, with all the issues this game has had, and that generally speaking, the game is lacking the fun factor from GW1, I can't say it was worth it. If I had gotten the enjoyment out of this game, like I did with the first one, I would have felt it was worth every penny, but it's just not the case.
