Re: Can't activate 6 games i bought on Origin!

Hey @sL3nd3rMann the games in question that you cannot add pre-date Origin. Our support was most likely referring to this and an inability to add games that were released so long before Origin launched.

The best thing I can recommend is to speak with one of our phone or chat support advisers who will be able to advise you further.

You can contact our live support at help.ea.com.

To  speak with a chat adviser:

Click on your product Origin

Then select 'PC

Manage my Account'

Can't log in

Finally, you can choose to begin a chat or request a call back.

  • They do not work to activate in steam either. I don't understand why u cant activate the codes in origin when the codes were made by EA no?

trying to chat with EA advisor now.

I was talking first time with live support.

the second ea suport help is telling me to contact the store from where i bought the games. they keep saying online retailer codes but i bought physical copies.

    LoL.

    Dont have receipt anymore.

The games where physical copies with codes inside.

Hey @sL3nd3rMann if the codes are not accepted in Origin and our team has advised that there is nothing on their end that they can do then I would recommend following the instructions in each game to install from disc and then launch from your desktop.

With older games such as this where your codes are not accepted in Origin then you can install them directly from the disc.

  • Most of them dont work from disc. The setup either dont work or the disk is unreadable. (The dvd writer makes a squeaky noise)

Why do u think i contacted support and tried to put the codes in Origin?

Mirror Edge does not work either. Setup is not continuing. Jesus.

    What to do ?

Hey @sL3nd3rMann if the discs are unreadable and our live support has advised that they cannot add the games for you then I would recommend contacting the retailer for replacement discs.

If the discs look okay then the issue may be with your disc reader which you may need to troubleshoot.

Codes from games released before Origin will not always be accepted by Origin which appears to be the case here.

  • The blue-ray writer works i just installed Deus Ex , Fallout 3 from discs.

I just contacted the store from where i bought the games(Gamesline) and after half hour of talking trying to convinced and make them remember my purchase they said with out receipt they can't help me. So am i screwed? What now?

But if i can provide proof of having the games which are physical purchase with discs and codes inside why can't they give me other working codes.

    Why is so hard? huh?

    I don't understand.

Why some codes are accepted and other not? Is it so hard to make a working system of accepting codes?

    Its not rocket science!

If i would have pirated the games I would could have already play.

How come its harder to get purchased games working then pirating?

I bet i can download with 100mb/sec(with my 1gigabit net) torrent games and in 2 h i could have installed all these games.

Yet it takes days maybe weeks maybe never to get purchased games to work.

Hey @sL3nd3rMann AHQ a global community focused on players helping players. If you require a live contact then you can speak with one of our live support advisers.

We do our best to respond to every message on AHQ but there can be some time between replies.

If you have spoken with our live support team and they have advised you that they cannot grant you codes for the game then I am sorry to say but there is nothing that we can do on AHQ to change this.

Codes from games released before Origin may not be accepted in Origin as it did not exist then, the games that you are having an issue with were all released before Origin launched.

I tested a couple of the games you are having issues with in my Blu-Ray drive and was able to install them, if your discs are not working can you ensure that they are clean and not scratched and if possible try them in a different disc drive to see if you see the same issue.

If the issue remains and our live support is unable to assist with granting coeds for the games then I would recommend speaking with the store you purchased the games from again.

I spoke with an EA support guy again.

And he told me Gamesline.ro from where i bought the games its not a trusted retailer.

Its one of the few and biggest retailer in my country. I live in Romania.

Like that its relevant. The games were a sealed physical copy.

He said EA does not offer support for games like Crysis 1 because its old.

How come they cannot offer support but they sell the game in store?

The guy closed on me the live chat.

    The audacity.

So i just bought 7 games they made and they refuse to help me to be able to play.

And to think i bough 24 of their games.

    No shame. No respect.

So that's it ? No more help ?

Why i even bother buying games, huh?

When this kind of joke behaviour you get from a company?

You either get broken unfinished full of micro transactions games or games that don't work and an embarassment of a support.

Hey @sL3nd3rMann, I'm sorry that you're frustrated and having this issue.

As I said above, if our live support cannot assist then your best point of contact is the retailer to see what they can recommend.

If the discs are not working then I would suggest trying them in another drive to see if you see the same issue.

Please understand that on AHQ we are not live support and as such there may be some time between replies.

    Darko

    1. What other drive? I only have one blue-ray writer.

The thing Its only 2 months old.

Like i said I installed succesfully Deus Ex, Fallout 3 from discs.

    The problem are the games.

Again like i said I talked with the retailer but was told that without receipt they cannot help me.

I got as much help from them as I got from EA help suport guys, that includes u and that is ziltch. I only got boring excuses why they cannot help me. The games are old. Are not longer supported (but iterestingly are on EA store because they only care about money).

Although I have bought the games and pics are proof of that. They cant bother suplie me with new codes so I can install and play the games.

They can help me by giving me working codes but dont want to do this because the greed is so high they probably want me to buy the games again.

But if i dont get any help with this i will never buy EA games again.

[Removed by CM. @sL3nd3rMann please do not advocate breaking the law]

I did not pay hundreds of dollars to watch at discs.
