Its happening to me too.
it’s been fine with the solar sage .
I have tried doing a practice arena and it crashes as soon as you have chosen your plants.
I can play on a different device and that’s fine.
I will try to use an Android emulator to see if the Arena works.
Hopefully it’s a temporary glitch that gets fixed, I prefer playing on my iPad and don’t know if I want to play on different device. Good luck to you both.
I hope it works for you. I’m able to play on my iPhone, so it seems as though the problem is the IPad.
The problem is an older iPad.
It’s fine on the I phone.
ive been playing for several years and one thing I’ve learnt is to wait and see if it gets fixed and not to delete and reinstall the game as it never works.
EA need to fix it.
This might sound weird, but this was happening to me in Solar Tomato tournament only when using appease-mint plants. I didn't use them so I had no issues. Only later I tried using them and the game would crash.
I agree, it seems to be older iPad, even though it shows it’s supported in the App Store. Yes, hopefully it will be fixed. I’ve played for years as well and have encountered several glitches, this seems to be the worse yet for me.

I tried entering Arena practice now, after waiting a few hours. It worked! It could be that same glitch that I got in the Solar Tomato tournament because I did not choose any appease-mint plants.
Pvz2 won't work on older versions of ios or android any longer.
Sorry couldn’t get the battle arena to play.
Everything else is working fine ,piñata,penny pursuit and adventure levels

This seems to be that glitch that I mentioned earlier but now it affects Power Vine. Hopefully EA sees this and fixes this issue.

I am using iOS 15 latest update on an iPhone 11 not an iPad. This happens exclusively in the Arena. This happened rarely during the electric vine arena but happens consistently since the beginning of the Noctarine arena. I have not been able to play more than two consecutive matches without a crash to home screen. This does not happen in Adventure Mode or Piñata Party. And it seems to happen during big jumps in score or when a lot is happening on the screen.

- Do you have another device to test to see if the issue persists on your account?
- If so, does the issue persist, and which device and OS are you using?
- When do you remember this issue first starting for you?

Thanks for the reply. The crash also happened during back to school event when collecting the daily rewards and when finishing or playing its daily pinatas. It also happens during some normal daily pinatas and after watching some adds.
Edit: I forgot to add this arena, I got huge slowdowns when playing when many zombies and plants are on the screen on the brink of crashing, it can barely move.
I did a screen record of the crash. I figure I have lost maybe 20 gauntlets to crashes during this arena season. That’s quite a bit of gems lost.
Now the crash is in Pokra Penny Pursuit since the first level with the carpet. After we finish the level it crashes and doesn't save that you cleared it so no way to advance.
I have been playing on both an iPad pro (6th generation) and an iPad mini 4 for about a week now, and just today it crashes on both just after the load screen with the grass rolling across the screen progress bar.
My iPad pro is running iOS 18.3.2 and the iPad mini is running iOS 15.8.3.
