Game Installed on a Different Disk Drive

I have no room to install games on my computer, so I've installed it on my E: drive (External hard drive).  However, whenever I try to play the game, I get the error "There is a problem with your game's setup.  Please reinstall your game."  Is there something I need to do to get this to work?

Also, I did do a search on the problem and found a topic with a link in it, however, I apparently don't have permission to view the topic.

All right, so I upgraded to Windows 10, and now it's working beautifully (though I'm mourning my Windows 7.  ☹️  I'm going to miss it).  However, the game remains grayed out in the library, which confuses me.

It's not such a big deal as it was before, but I don't like the thought that, should I need to repair the game, I wouldn't be able to.  Since my original issue is solved, though, I wish to thank you very much for helping me.

    Hey @ariinya

Can you try to Clear Origin Cache and run a Repair on the game? If this continues, to check do you get this after you start your device or unplug the external device? Also to confirm which version of windows are you running?

I'm currently reinstalling (for the 3rd time... you know what they say, 3rd time's the charm!), but I'll try that if I continue to have the same issue.

    I'm running on Windows 7.

@EA_Illium Okay, so I finished downloading it again. I cleared the cache, but I can't repair the game. It's grayed/faded out in my library. I'm still getting the same message when I try to run it. "There is a problem with your game's setup. Please reinstall it." Which I have, three times now.

I really, REALLY want this game and to be able to make it work. Is there nothing else I can do? ☹️

    Hi @ariinya,

Thanks for the update, to check was the repair option grayed out once the re-installation finished? If so it might be possible something is causing an issue with the install.

To check what type of external device are you trying to install to? Can you check the following information in case something is interfering with the install?

    Thanks!

@ariinya I good to hear you are able to get in and enjoy the game. With switching to a new OS Origin may not see it installed. If you want try clearing cache now first and we can see if the client can properly see it installed.
