This just happened on my PS4 Pro, so I can provide a few more details for the team. The fan when this game starts runs extremely fast, even when starting from a cold state. The game is heating the system up at record speeds it seems. Before making it to the menu screen, PS4's operating system goes to a blue screen warning stating that the system is too hot and needs to shut down. The system still allows you to go to the game menu after the warning.
I've also experienced a high speed fan issue with Battlefront 2, though I've yet to see thwt specific warning. I only brings this up because I believe they use similar engines.
I hope this helps. My system is well ventilated and was recently cleaned of all possible internal dust and vent obstructions.
- @hyperion508 Good luck! My X been doing this for weeks and 2 of my PS pro friends the same, lucky we have all had regular models to play on and earn rewards until they fix. Can only hope new starwars functional.
- @EA_Atic I’ve private messaged you please can you have a look at it and help me out.
Thanks Just to let you know. For the past week I've been going through some rough patches with my ps4 pro. Previously to disassembling it I could hear the fan ramp up extremely loud, it didn't overheat but it was loud and beeing a 3 year old machine I decided to give it a good clean up and some new thermal paste.
Now this point is crucial. The thermal paste needs to be the best thermal paste that you can find. Before using the Arctic mx4 I used pastes with lower thermal conductivity and it overheated. The ps4 pro is a system that has too much power for the cooling system that comes with. So the thermal pastes come with different thermal conductivity and it is measured in W/mk. I don't know which is the lowest conductivity that can withstand but to make sure just go with the best paste that you can find. For me the arctic mx4 worked like a charm and it has 8.5W/mk. Before applying it I could make it to the lobby of Warzone without overheating and shutting down.
If you can also apply new thermal pads to the vram, I used the ones that have 1mm of thickness.
Always clean everything with isopropyl alcohol and qtips.
Hope that it helps
You may be right. Will try this with generic paste first mx too expensive here
