Variants probably won't be returned. And Hover goat, Torchwood too. New characters will be added and legendary upgrades + legendary costumes. And with upgrades and costumes you can create your very own variant. And I don't know if it's just me but I think BfN is a lot better than GW2.

    @JayBomb529  Unfortunately, it's unlikely that these characters will be returning which is really unfortunate because I really enjoyed Torchwood and Hover-Goat 3000. However, there is a possibility as the developers are still adding more characters, so they could make a return. Although I guess we always have GW2 for that I suppose … ! 🤔
