Re: [Updated 03/09] PC - GW/GW2 Not Working After Update
The anti-cheat has already been bypassed, and there are still hackers banning people and giving themselves an advantage. Not only does this anti-cheat not work, but there are also many reports, including mine, of people experiencing dropped frames because of it. Additionally, now I have a kernel anti-cheat that runs when I turn on my PC, and I don't really feel safe with the anti-cheat. Furthermore, this game cannot run on the Steam Deck now because of this anti-cheat. I understand that the game was never officially supported, but many anti-cheats are compatible with Linux, such as BattleEye, nprotect (kernal) and EasyAntiCheat. This game is getting worse, and it's almost unplayable. I can't recommend my friends to purchase the game anymore because I myself can't enjoy it.
What are the possible solutions:
1. Delete the anti-cheat because it does not work, so there is no point in keeping it. It ruins FPS and does not work on Steam Deck.
2. Change the anti-cheat provider to another company, such as EasyAntiCheat, nProtect, and/or BattlEye. I have never once encountered a cheater on Apex Legends, which uses Easy AntiCheat, and it works on Steam Deck (assuming they change one button).
3. Fix the anti-cheat and make it effective by addressing the framerate problems and addressing the issue of hackers.
In conclusion, the ongoing problems with the anti-cheat system have left players feeling let down. Whether it's deleting, changing providers, or fixing the issues, immediate action is needed to regain trust and enjoyment in the game. Without improvements, players may lose interest and the game's reputation could suffer. Please take this into consideration.
