I bought this game on steam while it was on sale, and I can't even play the game. I am given the "Preparing Game..." prompt, and it just disappears without launching the game. It says I'm playing the game, yet I am just stuck on the steam app waiting for it to just magically appear. I have tried verifying the integrity of the files, clearing download cache, and doing a clean boot. PC Specs if that helps: OS: 64-bit Windows 10 Processor: Intel(R) Core (TM) i7-10700K CPU @ 3.80 GHz, 3792 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s) Memory: 16 GB RAM Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 DirectX: Version 12

It's been about a month and a half, and I still can't open up PvZGW2. I have checked many websites to help me out, but they all end up not working. I have been looking at other forum posts and stumbled across a couple of people having the same problem. I didn't think much of it, but someone had replied to the forum talking about how buying the game on sale leads to the game being unable to launch. If you got the game while it was on sale, you most likely can't open the game anymore. It doesn't make sense, but people buying the game on sale also had this problem.

It's just bugging me that people with the same problem as me also got it while on sale. It may just be a pure coincidence, but that's why I'm confused. If it was a pure coincidence, then it's probably just my specs or something, but it isn't. I'm just completely lost, but I'm gonna try something and just hope it works brb

Hello @EA_Shepard , I finally got the game to work in an odd way. I just got my ethernet cable, and it just decided to work when I opened it. If anyone else that stumbles to the same problem, try an ethernet cable. Don't know how but it worked so im not complaining

And that was short-lived. My game now doesn't work, but I got another error message. This error message reads, "This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page." I had tried to open the app through the file location, and I got the same problem that I had initially. @EA_Shepard if you can, please help me out. There's at least an error that we're able to go off of.

Can someone from EA actually answers, pleeeeeaaaaase ? :3Having the same problem. Not normal to encounter bugs at the moment you buy the game tho.

Hi @vertitacial, Buying the game wouldn't cause an issue if it was on sale. It is the same game as a full-price purchase. The only difference is that someone cut the price on the store. The actual download is the same.

Hi @vertitacial, Do you have the game, Steam and the EA app all on the same drive?

Stuck in preparing is a very different error than not connecting to the servers, which they are looking into. Can you attach a screenshot of the error(s) you see when you launch the game on Steam?
