Red screen of death

Whilst playing Battlefront I regularly get a red screen of death accompanied by a continuous tone. This goes on for about ten seconds and then the computer reboots itself. I've done some google searches and found this "red screen of death" is a graphics issue and so I've tried reloading my graphics driver (AMD Catalyst 15.7.1) and also tried the current beta drivers (15.11.1) but without any fix. I've also tried lowering the graphics settings in case the issue is caused by the card not coping with the in-game graphics and now almost all the graphics are on low settings without any fix.

System Specifications

Motherboard : Krypton Z77 660i

CPU : Intel Core i5-3570K overclocked to 4.4GHz

RAM : Corsair Dominator 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10

Graphics : VTX3D Radeon HD 7870 Black Edition

Graphics Drivers : AMD Catalyst 15.7.1

OS : Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

    @jimbosl Hmm, that's not a good sign.

    You mention reloading you drivers, but can you try a full clean reinstall?

    I had a similar issue a few years back, and after driver reinstalls I was coming to the conclusion that my card was on the way out. Fortunately a full reinstall resurrected the card and I got a few more years out of it.

    Thanks, let us know how you get on.

    I'm afraid that didn't work. The problem is specific to Battlefront too as I'm playing other games without this issue appearing.

    Same here, although I did mess with my card, so I'm not sure if's that or the game.

    I have an R9 380.
