Xbox One Can't Connect to Servers SW Battlefront
Hello.
I've played a lot of battlefield over the past few months. Sunday, I tried to log in for the triple xp event. I got a message saying I couldn't connect to servers. I could hit the Y button to try to connect, but just kept getting the message over and over.
After an hour, I gave up and just figured they were overloaded.
Monday, same thing.
Today, same thing. I am online. I've played online games and d/l a game from the store, including EA Access since it's free this week.
But for battlefield, it still won't connect. I've even tried my son's account, and it won't log in for him either.
Doesn't seem in the Battlefront forums anyone has reported this issue. Anyone know why, all of a sudden, I 'd be having this issue. I've reset my cable modem and router. I'm playing via wire, so not wireless. And like I mentioned, the xbox one is online, for everything else, but just cant' connect to EA servers.
EDIT: 4 hours later, after calls with EA, my router company (TP-LINK) and ISP, EA stated I needed to get the NAT from moderate to open (in network settings). After many hours, I finally got my NAT to show open instead of Moderate. The whole adding ports didn't work. In fact, the only way I could get my router to get the Xbox NAT to open was to set it up as a DMZ. (Yes, lingo I really don't understand. I'm not a computer or networking person). I had to bind my MAC address to a static IP address then turn DMZ on setting that static IP address there. Sadly, still no luck. Turning off the Xbox and back on, as well as router and cable modem, it still shows NAT is now open, but it still says can't log in to EA servers. I have no other ideas what to try or do. (Online does work as I can connect with Rocket League and Netflix).
EDIT: Update 2. So after talking to Microsoft, I feel really special now. Turning on and off the Xbox to 'restart' it isn't enough. You have to unplug it to 'reset' the network settings. Therefore, once I turned it off and unplugged it a minute, then plugged it back in, when I went in the game, it found the servers immediately. So if anyone else ever has this issue, and it seems like it should have resolved, try the unplug thing. Man, like computer 101... is your computer plugged in, lol. Sometimes it's easy to overlook the obvious. Hope this helps.
