No Multiplayer Games on PC

Just bought the game on PC and I cannot find any multiplayer games to join no matter what region I set my preferences to, at best I have joined a lobby with two other players waiting to start the game.

No issues with port forwarding on my home network. Lots of googling suggest this is an inherent floor with the game, anyone else have this issue and have resolved it or is the pc match making that poor, my son has the game on the xbox and there are n issue with multiplayer games.
