Re: Star Wars battlefront stuck on loading screen

Hello @LuckyBlockYoshi

I am really sorry for those troubles with the game. If you are on PC, updating your GPU drivers and Repairing the game in Origin client should fix this.

Cheers.

Very disappointed so far, lots of glitches, players get stuck, can't move for long time, I watch other players stuck in place also. Then sometimes, it kicks me off and I have to reconnect. This is NOT my internet because we have lots of other games and this never happens. WE NEEDS TO FIX THIS.

    Tried this without luck...

Tried updating the latest Nvidia GeForce driver, re-installing the game, repairing the game in Origin, disabling directX in the game settings. Nothing seems to help. I've completed the single player campaign, but when i try to enter a mission afterwards I get stuck in the loading screen again..

I really enjoyed the campaign, but not being able to play multiplayer with my friends really sucks. :/

    ☹️

  • Did this already with same result graphics drivers are updated and have already done a repair to game files

Are you seeing these issues on Battlefront or Battlefront 2?

Same thing for me. I’m on ps4 and whenever I exit Heroes Vs Villains it loads forever. Literally. I tried leaving it loading for 30 minutes and the music keeps going and the loading Death Star icon in top right keeps doing its thing but nothing happens. Now whenever I want to play heroes vs villains the only way for me to get out is to close the application and restart the game. Really * irritating right about now
  • I was having the same problem and I found this comment. Thank god dude. I tried his solution and it worked like a charm. My game loaded within the next 20 seconds. At first I didn’t know how to do either of these things but I found some websites to guide me through.

Basically you have to visit your graphics card’s company website, and from there click around until you find a section on drivers. This should provide a link and send you to another website for the driver update ( in my case it was AMD’s website). The steps are then pretty self explanatory for the driver update itself.

For the client repair you have to open origin and find Battlefront 2 (or said game). There should be a settings cog next to the play option and a drop down menu will provide the repair option (If the settings cog is not clickable it’s probably because the game is open, close the game). From there it really easy. Thanks again and good luck to anyone else who has the same problem!

If it has finished installed I recommend that you try to power cycle and try again. @SweatyBear44

    How to power cycle:

    1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button  on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.
Important Be sure to wait at least 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.
    3. Plug the console power cable back in.
    4. Press the Xbox button  on your console to turn it on.

  • Maybe this will help someone who finds this thread, but I had the game installed from 2018 or so and decided to play again recently (2020), did the updates etc and launched the game and would get stuck on the launch loading screen before eventually just closing.

Tried every other fix until eventually I saw someone said to do the following:

    1. Go to where your game is installed

    2. Rename the folder (e.g. from Star Wars Battlefront II to SWB2)

    3. Delete all the files in the folder except for the 'data' folder, also delete the game files folder in your user/documents/star wars battlefront 2 folder (like 4 small files)

    4. Origin should now realise the game has disappeared and wants you to download from scratch

    5. Rename the folder back to normal and then go into Origin and locate the game

    6. It should download about an additional 30gb worth of game files (instead of the full 90gb or whatever it is)

    7. In origin, go into the settings for SWB2 and untick the 'load origin in game' or whatever the setting is

    7. Once done, launch!

This was the only thing that fixed it, all the things I found kept going on about disabling DX12 and swapping something from a 1 to 0 in the config, but mine was already deactivated so none of that helped.

    Hope this helps!
