Re: Starwars battlefront 2 load times

@matterickson33 Hi, what system are you on? If it's PC are you tabbing out? Perhaps leaving the game fullscreen/in focus will help?

    @EA_David

I am on Xbox one and it takes about 5 minutes to load to the main menu and then another 3-5 to get loaded into a game. It is extremely frustrating cause i feel like I’m doing more sitting than play.

I also wanted to add that I’ve checked my WiFi and i have full bars and I’ve reset my WiFi, hard reset my Xbox, and redownloaded the game. Nothing seems to work

Is your hard drive nearly full? If so, maybe it helps to clear some space.

    Hello everybody,

-- My tip is for PC users only --

forget all the tipps about cleaning up PC etc. The problem is the engine itself.

I came across the same issue with I7-7700k and other high end components - especially after an arcade match, it took me long 3 minutes going back to menu...

    So what happens in detail?

While in loading screen, the engine produces incredible 1000+ fps - now it's going to be weird, while in loading screen, CPU hits almost 100% - but hard drive has fair usage among 20%

What you have to do is to limit the FPS for the whole game (this also works for Battlefield 1)

In my case, I am using a 144 Hz monitor and limited the fps to 144 - and NOW only a few seconds loading time!

To limit the fps for Battlefront 2, I used MSI Afterburner with the Riva Stat. Server - but you could also use other tools, e.g. NVIDIA inspector.

Hope anyone can confirm my workaround.

May the force (and not the loading screen) be with you

Ya playing on ps4 and my biggest problem is the load times on my pro shouldn't be 2 - 5 minutes. Please fix this it's really off putting to most people. He'll I got on here logged in and write this before my load screen ended...

how is that even relative? wherever the the focus on your monitor is in no correlation to how much processing power is used to run the game. its not going to run with less processing power if its minimized. the game is still active background or not
  • I am Still experiencing problems with the load times on the game from the menu setting to online to any game mode really. Are you guys going to fix this? It is making the game extremly unenjoyable for me. Please fix this (made space on my xbox hdd, deleted the game and reinstalled, tried running off internal and external and nothing makes a difference)

Load times are horrendous. And just exiting game to go back to menu on PS4 is ridiculously slow? It does make the game less fun. I'd pay money to have faster loads/unloads to games/menu

HAving same issues with loading times on my PC. The worst problem is that these issues come up randomly. Yesterday, all worked well, loading times were OK and suddenly all slowed down. Finished one scenario and new one started loading..................................................................................................................................... When it was loaded, first objectives were already done (Starkiller Base attack). After finishing this one, loading, again took long but this time it was like eternity and I had to resign. What I noticed, was hilariously big usage of disk and memory for BF2. When these went down, game became enjoyable again. Today is the same...

  • Now now folks lets not complain too much OR we maybe accused of being toxic..........................BUT you can be pissed off.

On the other hand lets all sing a few songs and do EA's tech support for them.

I purchase this game last week for Xbox one looking forward to playing it however 90% of my time is an load screens this is absolutely unacceptable with the technology we have these days. This is the kind of problem I would expect when xbox live 1st came out. I started looking for a match at 12:30 p.m. and at 12:45 p.m. I'm still loading. No wonder Disney wants to pull your licenses.

dont buy any more ea games

  • A FEW THINGS THAT WILL HELP :

    1 : operating system on 1 drive ( make it SSD )

    2 : BF2 on another drive

3 :  AND THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT HELPED ME : PUT BF2 ON A SSD.

I should not have to put every bloody game i have on an SSD.

    Rule of thumb

I have ARMA 3 , BF2 , PLAYERUNKNOWN ....all on SSD otherwise it's just a waste of time.

    SO I have 3 drives.

is it related to DX12? i haven't tried again in DX11, but the loading time really too long from starting the game( game menu from starting), too long, what didnt' fix it upon 2019
  • Every so often I get an email letting me know someone has posted on this thread.

£30 for at best 1 hour of "play" most of which was waiting around for maps to load. It then sat on my ps4 HD for about 8 months and then I deleted it.

Puts me off buying digital lol.

  • No idea if this is still a help to someone, but here goes : For me , especially in DX12, loading times were extremely long even crashing the game all together at some point. Reinstalled the game, reinstalled windows; nothing seemed to work. I had the game installed on SSD, so that wasn't the problem either. I thought.
After reading an article about the fact that it IS actually recommended to defrag an SSD from time to time (instead of the normal 'trimming', something to do with meta-data) I tried it. And suddenly battlefront 2's loading times shortened considerably! and no more crashes! (also in DX12). Never thought that that could be the problem.

  • This game seriously sucks it takes forever to load and its very frustrating for sure
