Re: [INFO] Pre-Order & Deluxe Edition content

Has anyone else purchased from Best Buy and never received the preorder bonus? I am not sure what recourse I have and EA refuses to give me an option to contact them instead of come to this forum.

I have called twice and been in touch with a few others who have done the same and have gotten different answers every time.

1) "Problem with our automated system that declined sending out this code"
2) "There is no code"
3) "Content is unlocked via gameplay"

I am beyond frustrated at this point. Has anyone had any success?

  • I spent 20 minutes on hold with best buy before they told me the preorder bonus was cancelled by EA

I just went through the same process.

And then they gave me a phone number to call EA that "cannot be completed as dialed."

I feel like I've been scammed for not buying directly through Origin or Steam.

Same here. I Pre-ordered the Game and get an EA-Code before release. I preloaded the Game and got no Pre-Order ObiWan Bonus.

Ordered the Standard Edition. This really is a joke

  • I preordered my Digital Deluxe edition through Best Buy as well. I spent 15 minutes chatting to some guy who tried to tell me that my preorder bonus was the $10 gift card, then he said the steelbook case (not even a part of the digital deluxe) was limited and only a few people would get it. After I repeated that the preorder bonus was digital content and would most likely have a separate code than the game code which they resent to me, he proceeded to tell me that the same applied to the digital items and that not everyone who preordered the game would get the digital preorder game. That's the first time I've ever heard that, so I asked to be escalated and he said I'd need to call their support phone number. Another 30 minutes on with phone support, it was either "preorder codes are limited to 200-300 orders", "you preordered too late", or "contact the manufacturer directly". I asked if I can return the item for false advertising, the customer service person said no, I asked for escalation, they gave me some phone number for Respawn and basically said "best of luck".

@NitramVonagard Holy * that is insanity.

And if you contact EA/Respawn I'm sure you'll get the "go back to the retailer" runaround. This is such a goddamn scam.
  • I did try the number they gave me but I have to wait until Monday because there's no support outside of regular business hours. Will update if I get any resolution but I am not hopeful.

Just adding my voice to this. No code, no help, lots of blame going around. Infuriating

  • As I understand it, this sits firmly with the retailer, but I can can certainly relate to the frustration. ☹️

  • Same issues for me too.

No code from Best Buy, no items unlocked in game. Best Buy says to contact PlayStation. Now PlayStation is saying to contact EA.

    what a fn joke.

  • I have been on phone and chat support with Best Buy and PlayStation all weekend trying to get it sorted.

BestBuy support said that PlayStation told them the items will automatically unlock in game when you get your ship. I told them that didn’t sound right, but they were adamant. Found out from a few friends they were told the same thing by BestBuy and their items didn’t unlock either.

Just got done with PlayStation support and after some “troubleshooting”, they were unable to help and told me to contact EA. Just sent a long winded message to EA support email, so now the waiting begins.

    Troubleshooting included:

    - Check and recheck spam folder for email from BestBuy (no email)

    - Make sure game is up to date (Game is up to date)

    - Use the “Restore Licenses” option (Restored licenses successfully)

    - Make sure I am at the correct point in the game (Game completed to the point I reach my ship)

It can’t be that hard to generate a code so please, someone from EA, help me out here. I have the disc version of the game, by the way.

The retailer...so in my case that would be steam?

I bought the game on steam, not through amazon or best buy, I didn't need any codes or any of that. I was playing through the game happily, I messed around with some outfits and when I went to put the hermit outfit back on it wasn't there anymore.

I'm well into new game + and it's STILL not there. I'm extremely pissed.
