PC: Can not bind the lower card to any key or button

Hello,

I'm playing the game on a PC with Corsair K70 (non RGB) keyboard and a Logitech G502 mouse.

Problem 1. The game does not recognize the additional buttons available on my mouse in the game's key binding menu. My work around has been to changing the mouse buttons to a keyboard key stroke. This works for most in game commands, but the lower card command can not be executed no matter which key stroke I bind it to. Within in the GUI, the key stroke does not appear when the game is being played.

Problem 2. The whole  key binding process is extremely cumbersome because the game will not let you override the default/old key when you press a new key. I have to free up the keys first before I can bind them to a command. This process is EXTREMELY annoying.

Please help.

Thanks,

  • Hello @Whiplash_ID  not had any issues my self what kind of mouse do you have?

Don't forget to bind mouse key-binds on the mouse tabs.

I wonder if this is related: I have an ambidextrous mouse (Razer Taipan) with two buttons on the left side and two on the right. After one of the recent Battlefront II updates/patches, the side buttons are mirrored instead of treated as separate inputs, thereby crippling the ability to remap the side mouse buttons separately.

I mapped the upper LEFT side mouse button as Mouse 4 and it works fine. But when trying to map the upper RIGHT side mouse button it says the button is already in use as Mouse 4! I have the Razer software which I also disabled and still had the same issue, which means it's likely a Battlefront problem. (I attached screenshots, hope they're visible here too)

I did not have this problem in the game until whatever update came out a few weeks ago, late May early June? I am playing the campaign but that probably doesn't make a difference as the controls are universal to the multiplayer. The game has become unplayable for me since I'm so used to the control scheme I had previously configured. I hope there's a quick fix for this!

    Hi @publicimage,

I tested around to get that error and I only got it when Mouse button 4 was connected to another key binding. take a look on your keybinding to see if its shortcut to something else.

Thanks for investigating. But, it's an entirely separate mouse button that should appear as Mouse 5 and there shouldn't be any button conflicts at all. As I said, it mapped correctly before one of the recent patches.

Hey, @publicimage  lets try with moving the document folder to desktop for SWBF2 ( this will remove all settings and single player and arcade progression). To see if helps if not just move the folder back.

if that don't work do a clean boot to see if there any programs messing with SWBF2.

Thanks for your help! Was there a recent game patch or something? Because I tried mapping the buttons again on Wednesday (two days ago) and it let me map both side buttons independently again, something I couldn't do for at least the two weeks prior to that. SO everything is working ok right now! If it breaks again I will try moving the folder to the desktop as you suggest to see if that helps me troubleshoot. Thanks again for your help, I appreciate it!
