update 6.2 - stuck in quickplay mode!!

My game updated to 6.2 and I logged in like normal. All my characters say "NOT READY" and I'm stuck on quickplay only. I have tried every trick I have read online about fixing this with no change. I don't understand what is going on, my wifes game on her lower end computer loaded just fine and can click on her characters and play. Mine just sits at 0.0% download complete and has been for the last hour.

  • I have completely the same problem, being stuck in quickplay mode. Did you try reinstaling the game? Would that help?

  • @MrSyrrik I have had this issue in the past, and the EA Customer Service Rep gave me a small list of things to try. The items on the list that used to work for me are not working today. Those things I tried are:

    1- reboot PC (a few times as I tried things, actually)
    2- reboot network
    3- check that check the BitRaider Mini-Support Service is on Automatic in Windows services
    4- clear game cache by deleting the DiskCacheArena file in folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic > SWTOR"

    I put in a support ticket, but if this problem is related to the new game update patch, it might take a little time for it to get resolved. We'll see.

    @Jecqi

    glad to hear

    for those not aware how to do this i will post the steps below , i usually tick run as admin too just because 🙂

    right mouse clicked on the game shortcut , selected properties

    click on the compatibility tab and then tick "run this program as administrator" and tick run this program in compatibility mode and select windows xp service pack 3

  • @proxos666 I appreciate the info! I did both things -
    -deleted the BitRaider folder to force a file verification.
    -ran the launcher as WinXP SP3 compatibility.

    My game is now working. I do not know which thing fixed it for me, but I'm happy either way.
    Thanks again.
