Re: Australia Inspired World?

@MunchieSim An Aussie-inspired pack would be amazing!

World: I'm picturing something like Windenberg, diverse with a number of neighbourhoods - beach, tropical rainforest, coral reef, outback/red centre, wine country

Plants and Wildlife: heaps and heaps of natives to choose from

Food: vegemite, fairy bread, meat pies/sausage rolls, lamingtons, Bunnings Sausage Sizzle, pavlova, Tim Tams, prawns, damper

Culture: oldest continuous living culture in the RL world

@Thats_Me_Madz , I don't know if they could do Tim Tams (I don't know how trade marks work in Australia.)  But maybe they could make a knock off brand and call them Sim Sams! 😋🤣

@simsplayer818 , thank you !  Glad it made you laugh!🥰  While vegemite doesn't sound great to many people in the States, Tim Tams sound like something we would love! 🥰 😋 And it would just be too great of a wasted opportunity to not name them Sim Sams! 🤣

@PugLove888 Vegemite does not look appealing but I just watched it used in a cooking challenge on an Australian cooking show (with my Australian culture obsession).
We have Marmite in the UK which is similar. It would inspire terror as a child, spotting that little jar in the back of the kitchen cupboard. People love it or hate it...I would take the latter view!

@simsplayer818 , I've never had either Vegemite or Marmite, but I did take a pottery class at a local college years ago, and someone who had a family member who lived in Australia brought some in for us to try.  I refrained from trying, but I did smell it, and I wasn't pleased. 😅  But this was many years ago, before I knew about the umami taste, and how umami is a taste with receptors on our tongues just like salty, sour, sweet, and bitter! I've heard an Australian say it is much like a thick soy sauce in taste, and since I do like soy sauce, I probably would be ok with Vegemite or Marmite. But I am a picky eater.

I can see how as a kid you wouldn't be too enthused with Marmite, at least by the looks!  But most people when they get older start preferring saltier tastes over sweet ones at least a little bit.  Even older people I know who have a big sweet tooth, have said that they like saltier foods a bit more than they did when they were younger.

If the Sims 4 were ever to get an Australian pack, there would have to be Vegemite.!  🙌

@PugLove888 I was just thinking that just like the real thing it could provoke a love/hate reaction for the Sim who eats it. It could be like a Moodlet lottery where the Sim gets a yummy or yucky moodlet.

@simsplayer818 Ah! just like the fruitcake ! 🤣 That is a funny idea!  I always like to have all Sims in the household eat the fruitcake the Welcome Wagon brings in order to see who loves the fruitcake and who hates it, because I like to have a quick food option for my Sims, and I need to know who to keep it from so they won't get sick!  I love that the fruitcake never spoils! 😅

I was just watching a show where someone from Australia who now lives in the U.S. won a competition and they gave her a gift basket with many treats, some of which were Vegemite and Tim Tams!💖  I thought of this thread ! 😀

Australia is known as the world's premier surfing destination.

It'd be the perfect location to see this as a new hobby skill to learn in the game.

    Surfing and Windsurfing.

    Surfboard art.

A surfer van decor item. It'd be funny if it could be an on-site "tent" that your Sim could sleep in.

    Outdoor showers.

    Night surfing.

    Waxing surfboard.

    Posing with it.

Relax float on it in the water.

There could be a beach Community Board that informs of current surfing conditions:

    • Jellyfish swarm
    • Sharks spotted
    • Wind conditions

Could even add a snorkeling buoy that only activates with Island Living, but is otherwise decorative.

  • @Vyo4 Great ideas! I love this! Especially with first person snorkelling my new favourite thing. You could have loads of unique underwater reefs and ocean life and actually get to see it in detail with first person camera. I think that the Sim's team design the most beautiful oceans and when you take a look under the water you see some stunning details you might have otherwise missed. I bet they'd do an awesome version of the Great Barrier Reef.
I'd love the surfer van! A lot of my Sims travel around with camping gear and a cute little van would be great.

@simsplayer818 You know, I've never tried using First Person when snorkeling. That's a great idea! Bet that makes for some cool screenshots.

Wish we could use the Underwater Camera and Take Photos when snorkeling. Would make wonderful wall art.
  • @Vyo4 I love all of your ideas!  This could be a really fun pack! (I'm probably more terrified of jellyfish than I am sharks, because a jellyfish once brushed up against my leg and I didn't even fell it, until the stinging started! 😰 Usually people are looking for sharks more than the jellyfish, so that is how the jellyfish get you! 😅)
I hope we get an Australia world and pack! 🤿🩱🌴🐨🦘🐊🕷🕸
