Do you know the exact clothes they're wearing? It's probably this https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/-Game-Data-Incomplete-grey-llamas-red-and-white-sims-broken/td-p/9341303 - @Bluebellflora thank you for the help! As far as I can tell its not from a specific bit of clothing or hair or anything, just their skin? All bits in cas look fine on the sim and in the little thumbnails too. Its only on the sims’ skin and doesnt go away when you change the skin tone. hair and clothes etc are unaffected
ive also noticed its only when you age the sim up? no issues ageing them down.
i have quite a few packs and dont know if its a specific one causing the problem like the thread suggested - should i redownload all my packs? or just the ones relevant to what the sim had in cas? or do i need to uninstall and reinstall the whole game haha - @anacuthbertson
Oh how interesting 🙂 Try a super repair - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612394#M815 then do a normal repair in Origin.
Could you send me your save so I can test in my game? Upload it to a file sharing site and PM me the link. If you could give me a bit of info that would help too, i.e. what family to load and which sim should age up. - @Bluebellflora Okay, will try the super repair! Do I need to backup any of my files for that?
If this doesn't work I'll send you the save - @anacuthbertson
No, no need to back up files. It's affecting the installation, not the user data folder. Although of course, backups are always recommended 🙂
After you've done the super repair make sure to do a normal repair too so the packs are included. - @Bluebellflora the repair didn't work ☹️
What specific file do i need to send and where do i find it? sorry I'm pretty new to this Oh no ☹️
Launch the game and click on load game, click on the affected save then hover over the copy icon to see the file path:
(The graphic has changed a little since I took that screenshot but the principle is the same)
That’s showing you which specific save it is. Go into your Sims 4 saves folder, find the save file with the same file name and then upload it to a file sharing site for me to download.
- @Bluebellflora thanks! have pmed you the link
- @Bluebellflora no, its when she ages to a teen! sorry for not specifying
That's horrible!
I entered the cas.fulleditmode cheat and aged her up in CAS and it happened with all future life stages, not just to teen.
I then tried again but this time changing her skin tone before ageing her up, same thing happened. So it doesn't matter which skin tone she has, it always happens.
I aged up the parents in CAS ok, no problem with skin tones.
Could you create a bug report in the bug forum? I can merge this thread into it for more info. Could you make sure to provide all the details about your Mac as requested here - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612394#M162

I'm having this issue as well on PC. Moving mods to the desktop and repair game temporarily fixes this.
