@crinrict I can wait patiently. My issue is not game-breaking, so certainly there are many other people who need help a lot more than I do, lol. Thank you again.
- crinrict2 years agoHero+@goofylittlerhino Few questions: Does it matter what you cook ? Does it only happen if you cook together with a Sim or also if a Sim cooks alone ?
@crinrict Hello!
1. To my knowledge, cooking alone poses no problem. My guys did use the new waffle maker and pizza oven yesterday, each cooking alone and separately, with no incident.
2. It's funny you ask about what I cook, because I thought the Zombie Cake was posing a particular problem. Now, they can finish cooking it, but while the glitch was still operative, the Zombie Cake in particular seemed more severely problematic, but I don't recall exactly how.
3. Could the following make a difference? ... They are living on the Old Penelope lot in StrangerVille. I demolished the underground house but kept the terrain and features above. Their house consists of two above-ground towers (in theory, for watching for threats, lol) and one enormous floor underground, which is as big as the dimensions of the lot. Because it's an unusual lot and because I pushed its limits a bit, I just wonder if that has anything to do with this? Larger lots do cause lag, as you know.
If you need any other tests, I can try them! I would run them myself, but you know this stuff much better than I do.
- crinrict2 years agoHero+@goofylittlerhino Try moving them to another lot to see if it works from you there. Just the same Sims.
@crinrict Ran two tests. This was interesting.
1. Moved the two guys to a house in Willow Creek which I built. Same issues as originally described, but the second sim never started cooking. His queued action stayed as "Gather For Group Cooking" and, once the cooking was done, the action simply canceled itself. The Zombie Cake, with proper 12 pieces (for having been cooked by two people), was delivered without further incident. To me, this is non-problematic, but it is admittedly and obviously not what is intended.
2. Moved the two guys to a house in Brindleton Bay, Chateau Frise, built and provided by the sims team(s). The second sim joined in the cooking! ... but then (dun dun dun) his actions and activities canceled in the middle of the cooking sequence! His bowl simply disappeared and he stood talking to the other sim. However, the Zombie Cake, with proper 12 pieces, was delivered without further incident. To me, this is close to what is supposed to be happening, but not quite, lol.
If you want to pursue this, I will continue to cooperate. :D
- crinrict2 years agoHero+@goofylittlerhino I feel a bit .. drained tbh. I Somehow I didn't realize that this was about group cooking (lol) but I think it always had a few issues, especially in tight spaces.
Did you ever have the issue of the bowl not disappearing ? @crinrict I wondered if you were confusing more than one issue! But I didn't dare correct you; it would've seemed rude, no? LOL
To my knowledge, prior to the current issue, this has never happened with single or group cooking. Also, frankly, since the latest patch, I'm getting the proper result (a meal with 12 servings). It's just that the animations in question are not exactly what they should be.
I could get back to you, maybe, if any further game-compromising or game-breaking issues materialise? I only say this because my issue is so small and I see people reporting things like, "My game crashes every two minutes" and whatnot.
But I'm here for any further questions or testing you suggest.
- crinrict2 years agoHero+@goofylittlerhino Do say something when you feel I misunderstood. When juggling so many issues, it's sometimes hard to not mix stuff up :D
There's a bug report for sims just standing around when group cooking here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Group-Cooking-Sims-just-stands-around/m-p/10531137#M190955 but I'm not sure if there's any issues with the bowls not disappearing there.
Do you want me to merge your thread with that ? @crinrict Oh, yeah! If my thread adds information to that one -- and if it makes things easier for you and others investigating these issues, then absolutely.
Should I add anything over there, or just let our conversation speak for itself?
- crinrict2 years agoHero+@goofylittlerhino EA might ask for more info but I don't work for them.
I think for the moment it's fine. @crinrict Thanks for everything!

Not sure I am on the right tread, but related to that, it takes sims hours and hours in game to gather and start cooking together... making it pointless. A sim could litteraly cook twice in a row and spares some times, before a group cooking even start... and I am not talking about the sims being so far off... I usually choose sims pretty close to do so, but this is not working fluid, this is very disjointed and sims take forever to start anything. Once started though, it seems fine, if they have enough counter space of course...
@crinrict Keeping this brief to save you time. Can provide details if necessary.
My sims are now living in a game-provided house, and they just cooked together. As of the latest patch (yesterday? today?), the procedure went smoothly, the bowl vanished properly, and they had the proper number of servings.
Unless something goes wrong again, this should be good to go.

Um, wasn’t this supposed to be a group activity? When doing Group Cooking, all Sims will now participate.Fixed in Patch 1.106.148/1.91
