Re: Play button is grayed out?

Found the solution for me: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/Sims-4-PLAY-button-won-t-highlite/m-p/3439987/highlight/true#M6088

Re: Sims 4 PLAY button won't highlite[ New ]

Try Clearing out the origin cache

  1. Ensure Origin is fully closed by clicking the Origin Menu and selecting Exit.
  2. Delete the following folders:
  • Origin folder - Found in C:\ProgramData\
  • Origin folder - Found in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\
  • Origin folder - Found in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\
  • Note: These folders are hidden by default, and the player will need to un-hide to be able to locate them.

to unhide folders:

-type folder options in the search field in the start menu

-click on the view tab

-under the hidden folders options click show hidden files, folders, and drives- apply the setting and click ok

    Hi

I have deleted the origin folders in local and Roaming, but the play button is still greyed out, and then the files are back there again as if I hadn't deleted them.  I've re installed origins ran updates but nothing seems to work, any ideas ?

    many thanks

    Try this @bubblegumpink99:

The Play button in Origin is gray

Make sure your game is updated to the newest version (see above). If that is the case and the play button is still gray, try the following things

Unfortunately this only worked for a short time before having to clear it again.  By a short time I mean it could be somewhere from a couple of weeks to maybe a month at most.

Just a note here: If your Sims 4 tile in Origin 10 looks like the picture below, it's fine. Mine is faded too but, all options and the game work. It doesn't mean it needs an update or anything, it's just faded in Origin 10.
