What settings are you playing on ?
Did you try clearing Origin cache or resetting the user files ? Also try hitting repair game on the game in Origin.

- Thank you so much for your help! We cleared the cache for both sims and origin and cleared saved data and now seems to be working perfectly! Thank you for your help! Have also turned game settings to medium which seems to work too.
