Oh that's unfortunate. You do have to make sure you get the right kind of one based on the design of the laptop. I'm on a Mac so the vent is in the screen hinge, not underneath or to the side of the bottom casing. I had a PC years ago and I used to sit it on a freezer pack to cool it down, worked wonders!
