  • @emenygirl19 Does it matter where on the counter you leave it ? Did you test another save/household to see if it's isolated or a general issue ?
  • I tried starting a new save with the current save and moving the food entree from the kitchen island to the kitchen table and the glitch was still happening.

@emenygirl19 this is kind of similar to an issue I've had on Xbox Series X where the Sim that cooks the meal and then uses Call to Meal either won't eat or won't sit down to eat. It's also worse on a lot where I've used the move objects cheat and haven't yet disabled the cheat. So if you've used MOO on that lot, try disabling it with bb.moveobjects off. If you're using any other cheats then perhaps turn those off too. I've also got the Sim that won't eat with the rest of the family to get leftovers from the fridge and found that they would do that. They will also eat food from their inventory. Like you, I've tried moving the plates around too to see if they will eat properly. Sometimes that helps but sometimes not. If I have a separate counter space next to a dining table that is sometimes what kickstarts them into behaving as they should. I also found that if they BBQ outside it doesn't affect them. It seems to specifically be the counters in kitchens. It's not all lots either. It's worse in Yuma Heights.

I've just added For Rent so am planning to test and see if it's made any difference when I've moved in a new Sim into a brand new lot.

So there's a few different things you could try, along with the troubleshooting steps for console but pop a reply here if nothing works as it's definitely an annoying problem.

@emenygirl19 Found something else that might help. Try setting a dining table with place settings and making sure it's in the same room. They should then automatically grab a plate and go to the nearest place setting at the table. It seems to make them do what they're supposed to do.

@emenygirl19 Hi there. Is it on all lots and all households? It's just specific lots for me. It's working on my current lot in Tomarang on a household that was created last year but split and moved.
Have you tried getting them to eat food purchased at a food stall and seeing what happens or food bought at a bar like french fries? Also dragging the food at home into their inventory, whether a plate or a packed lunch serving and then choosing the food from their inventory or grabbing Leftovers from the fridge? If they will eat that way or eat fruit and veg from the inventory that would at least feed them while this is broken.
If it was me I would reinstall my game and packs without deleting my saved data but I know that this can be time consuming depending on WiFi speeds.

When I tried to put the food entry in my sims inventory and try to eat there, they still t-pose, but after playing a different, random and unplayed household in the same save file and it works just fine.

@emenygirl19 That's what happened for me. It was only certain households/sims. It does seem like a bug to me. I even had other Sims take the food and eat around one cook as she stood there hungry. It didn't happen when the same Sim visited her mother's house. In fact she autonomously got some food on her own as I was switched to a different Sim. When I looked, she was at her parents kitchen table eating a meal. I didn't tell her to do that, but I suppose she was tired of eating inventory fruit and was ready for mum's taco casserole!
