- I had the exact same problem, but instead of re installing origin I right clicked on the app and chose 'quit origin' which then allowed me to go onto the site. I then pressed on the settings button next to 'play' on Sims 4 and pressed 'repair' which basically went through the files and re-installed (but quicker then the first ever installation) and that fixed mine fine 👍🏻 Hope this helps !
I can't get it to reinstall. Any suggestions? My sims 4 and origin still won't open.

Do you play on Mac or windows? I play on windows and that doesn't show for me.
Hi there. I play on Windows10 and am having this problem as well... My origin seems to stop opening as soon as I install The Sims 4.
Please read already posted replies in this thread.

Please uninstall Origin. Then download the latest version here: https://www.origin.com/dnk/en-us/store/download
After installation login to the account you have The Sims 4 on. Rightclick the game in your game library and select Repair.I'm having this problem, too. I stumbled across this thread this morning and decided to uninstall my Origin, then I reinstalled it and let it update all my game packs before I tried to boot my game and it loaded just fine to the saved games page..
I shut down my system and went to bed for a few hours. After getting up, I decided that I wanted to play me some Sims 4... except now the same issue is back again and I cant open Origin or The Sims 4 again.
