Re: Moved Sims 4 folder to desktop and have now lost all game data?

@SimsJLM

By default, this is how you find your saved games:

-- Windows File Explorer you can find your Sims 4 user files with this path: C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

-- Saves games are in: C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves

In-game Click the Load Game button, Select a saved game. Mouse over or hover over the tiny folder under the game saves information. Like shown in the photo below:

You may need to search your computer to find where your documents or Sims 4 user files are located. To do this, click the Start button and in the search bar type in Sims 4 and follow the path that it shows you.

    My saved games are NOT on my C drive. They automatically went to my external drive (F) which backs up to OneDrive. Which means I am also having the issues of OneDrive constantly updating the files as game is in play.  I am not wanting to disable OneDrive so hoping there are other options.  I am currently at the office and will try some other options this weekend. Thank you for your responses and help.

    I edited my reply above to show by default where you can find your game saves.

    Sims 4 and OneDrive do not work well together. Due to the game not recognizing saved games saved to One Drive. To get saves to be recognized they need to be in the game's save folder. - \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves

    You should be able to move the saves files from OneDrive to Sims 4\saves without to many issues. This may need to be done manually each time you want to use any saved games saved to OneDrive.

    @172e3cda00349872   I think i may have it all FIXED.  Completely closed down SIMS and since my files were saved on an external drive, which was back up to onedrive I copied the Electronics arts folder to another LOCAL drive then unplugged the external drive. I then reopened SIMS game, saved a random new game, just to see where it was going to put it.  It was saved in PUBLIC\Public documents.  I then copied my original saved games folder and it merged with the new MAIN folder on my C drive (which is NOT backed up to OneDrive!) opened the game again adn WHA LA it stays on my c drive and I do not have to worry about OneDrive or turn it off of my regular External drive.
    THANK YOU for helping me work this out.
