Game unplayable suddenly.

Hi:)

Since the past week, out of nowhere, my ts4 became unplayable as it would not load anything and was extremely laggy. I thought that my mods/cc became too much (no issues with them before)  so i slowly started deinstalling them. However, this did not work so i ended up removing everything but still the same issue persists.

I have by now done every possible solution i have seen online and deleted my master save with months of work, my mods, changed game/laptop settings, updated drivers, deinstalled packs and everything but the game still is broken, the main issues being;

  1. Game is incredibly clunky and laggy in both main menu, cas and active game
  2. In cas, there is several interface components missing like for example i cant choose traits as that menu has disappeared
  3. In the game itself, textures/sims do not load and the game is unplayable as no commands register for sims as well as the camera taking minutes to respond to my mouse movements

The worst part is that i have never had issues before, my game ran perfect with mods/cc and packs and the issues started out of nowhere, not even after a new update as i handled new patch conflicts.

If you have any ideas on what could be wrong or clues, let me know please. I am DESPERATE.

Thank you:)

  • The exact same thing happened to me! I played fine on 10/3 with the current update and pack, but then on 10/6 when I went to try again, it was unreasonably laggy. I deleted all my CC and Mods and deleted the EA app and TS4, then reinstalled them all and still nothing, I wanted to CRY. I also updated my PC and graphics cards and all that jazz, still nothing. I am so sad and mad and desperate! I just want to play!

  • This sounds like the same problem I'm having too. I've tried all the troubleshooting recommended and nothing seems to be working. It was all fine only a few days before then suddenly out of nowhere it just so laggy.

  • Lota_Eti  If you haven't already, please move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  If it copies instead of moving, or you get an error when trying to move it, stop here and let me know.

    Otherwise, when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet, not even from the Gallery; just start a new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.

    The next step would be the same except playing with your computer offline.  You can put the EA App in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

    If this doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

    Hi!

    The moving of files did fix CAS interface, however the extreme lag is still happening. I have attached the dxdiag.

    Thank youu!:)
