Re: Sims 4 Legacy Edition - How do you uninstall it?

@Tayzbo  If your computer runs Windows in 64-bit, you should be able to run the standard version of TS4.  One fast way to find out is to run a dxdiag; the Windows version will be right at the top of the first page.  (A dxdiag is also helpful to share when troubleshooting in general, so be sure to click Save All Information and keep it on hand if someone asks to see it.)

If you do in fact have a 64-bit system, go to your Origin library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, select Game Properties, then Advanced Launch Options, and choose 64-bit from the dropdown menu.  If you don't see it, right-click on the Sims 4 icon and select Repair, then look again.

I don't get a dropdown menu. I'm a Mac player and don't see it anywhere. I basically * up my game by downloading the damn legacy edition... I prob have to buy my whole game again...

@MilaVeen Mac players are 64 bit already, they don't have an issue with that.

    Is your Mac a non-metal model ?
  • @crinrict no, my game should be able to handle it fine. It also did fine with playing and I don't need the legacy..
  • I've got the same problem! Since I got the legacy edition, whenever I go from sims to internet and back, my game will freeze. Does anyone else have this problem? It really sucks

@puzzlezaddict Hi, I have a 64 bit Windows and for some reason my sims 4 just won't launch. No matter what I try. The stupid Legacy edition keeps downloading and messing up everything. Any idea how to get rid of it?

Go to the Origin/My games Library. Right-click on TS4 and select Properties, Then select advanced startup options. Change from 32 bit to 64 bit there
Then fix the game in Origin:
Once more right-click on TS4 select the option "repair game"
If the game created a new folder for Legacy Edition in Documents delete it.
The first time launch the game from Origin - not from the desktop icon
You can create also a new 64- bit shortcut to the desktop instead of not working 32-bit game icon
Open Program Filles(x86) / Origin Games/ The Sims 4/Games/ Bin and right-click TS4_x64.exe. Select "Sent to desktop"

the same thing happened to me and I have no idea what to do, I've spent a lot of money on this game and it won't work and that really upsets me.

  • I have Windows and it is non-existent for me too. I don’t want this * Legacy Edition. GIVE ME MY GAME, EA.

  • I right-clicked on my game (sims 4) but the game property option was grayed out and I couldn't go on it.

Now that Origin is no longer a thing, how would we do this on the EA Desktop App?
